  1. same here And here... You people are sick! Had a gardener come and look at my place, preparing a quote for giving it a make over and replant dead trees etc. Stupid shrubbery keeps dying on me because I don't have time for it
  2. Hmm, the obvious First Aid (Google) wasn't much help. Seems like a typical installer error, installing software with insufficient permissions. You run everything as Administrator? The other search resultes said something about bad registry entries.
  3. Ask Taks to show you his, then you can show him yours afterwards?
  4. Assets can f.x. be sound, music, gfx, concept art, code, scripts an so on. Somebody might be able to explain better what a license covers. Usually it seems to be the right to market something as being something specific? E.g. somebody owns the D&D IP. A company creates D&D artwork for whatever reason. Said company may own the rights to the artwork, but they can't sell it as D&D artwork without getting the permission from the IP owner (licensing it) to sell it as D&D Artwork. Stuff like that (IP's, Branding, Trademarks etc.) can be messy and involves many lawyers. No idea who holds the rights to sell Icewind Dale games these days, Hasbro?
  5. Dear God, fastest way to ruin a country, ever. Hehe... compulsary parliament service. Just like jury duty. Serve 4 years in parliament or go straight to jail
  6. "TOR"? Most of my knowledge about ME1 is from either this place, review, game play footage or similar, but somehow I can't shake the feeling that ME2 is like a ME1 Redux. It feels like the start of a series, not a middle part. Hard to put into words really. Edit: Also, see Gromnirs post above.
  7. Maybe the was intended to shock (or at least startle) the gamer. They sort of had to come up with something to do with all the stuff that the collectors collected. Lets see if they painted themselves into a corner
  8. Bought some bits and pieces (a print, sketchbooks and a resin statue) from Clyde Caldwells website. I know you can't really judge a person by exhanging a few brief emails, but I got the impression that he is a nice and very generous person. A positive experience for a first time shopper. Yes, shameless pugging, I know I've always been fascinated by those eye catching book covers that Mr. Caldwell and his colleagues have provided paperback books with over the decades.
  9. I eventually arrived at the conclusion that, if I stopped worrying about the details and just enjoyed it as an "interactive comic", then it was actually a quite entertaining one. I can't remember the last time I bothered completing a game 4 times in a row (and that despite the poor combat and hateful minigames) Maybe I should try playing the game as a female Shepard some day.
  10. Soylent Green.
  11. Disclaimer: Based entirely on fuzzy memory. I think what Interplay and Obsidian worked out back then was the assets, not the brands. That is why we have IWD avatars etc. on the forums.
  12. Last I heard, about a year or two ago, was that everything was completely dead in the water as regards either JA 3 or JA 3d. Is that no loner the case? The current fate of the greatest game ever
  13. Alpha Protocol. Thats it for now really. Jagged Alliance 3 is changing hands (again) and Disciples III looks like it is going all Ooh! Shiny! 3D! Immersion! etc. at the expense of the game mechanics (and by extension, the fun).
  14. Playing the waiting game and watching this place for feedback. Same thing goes for DA2. The first one was a nice enough game, but neither the setting nor the factions (friend and foe) did anything for me. Interesting characters and banters can only carry a game so far.
  15. Vegans are gastronomic fundamentalists. With about as much common sense too. Cows are vegans, humans are omnivores. I'm all for fighting your genetic information, but not to the point of blind stupidity.
  16. Did it make any sense for him to be in the game?!? I haven't played the game. Enjoyed the movie though, bought it on DVD. Mind you, I like Frankenfish too, so my taste in movies may be a bit suspect
  17. Fight global warming, eat a cow.
  18. Yes, it looks a bit on the "malnourished" side
  19. I'm beginning to think that the Normandys (SR2) stealth capabilities are much overrated. It feels like every merc base in the galaxy has equipment that picks up my presence and logs it in their computer system/broadcasts warnings that a ship is hanging in orbit. No wonder it (SR1) got its ass kicked in the intro movie
  20. With things back to what passes for normal, this thread is virtually closed...
  21. Uhuh... the sign of things to come?
  22. Not saying he was. He wondered why it took so long. Came up with one possibility (among several)
  23. Ok, that did a pretty good job of selling the movie (and I haven't even bothered watching the third one)
  24. Who knows, maybe "move stuff around" means moving stuff around sometimes? Community forums are often a service provided by a company, not a business critical feature. I.e. they will get them back up when they get them back up.
  25. We could have randomly generated sewers with rats and terrorists to bash
