  1. Sitting here looking at something called a "Nashi". No idea what it is, but I presume it is edible. I should probably look it up on google to see what I am supposed to do with it. Yeah, curiosity got the better of me, so I bought a few unknown food objects (U.F.O.s).
  2. I've seem a few episodes of The Simpsons, so I know those. I've heard about 24 (through Alpha Protocol of all things) and I've seen an episode of "Bones" once (which was surprisingly interesting). The rest is unknown to me. I must live in a different world or something
  3. Have fun Remember to burn the negatives...
  4. Not high enough for Joystiq to bother reviewing it. Minigames FTW!... not Some day, some human rights organisation will start a campaign to have mini games banned and there will be much rejoicing.
  5. Pervert Physical media does indeed seem to become a dying breed. At least from a PC gamer perspective. Time to hoard all those old boxes and disks? They might become worth a fortune some century from now. When all is said and done though, most if not all of the stuff you can get in digital form from internet stores is unessential entertainment products. If you don't like the business model, time to find a new hobby. Reminds me that I still have a metal miniature army or two that needs painting
  6. Getting a bit long. Discussion went This Way
  7. Start of old thread End of old thread As they said down at the Casino, "Craps happens!" Let there be Fallout
  8. Looks like I'm going for the XFX (Black Edition). Asus and Gigabyte has a reputation for not following reference layouts (according to a number of tech blogs and OC forums), Sapphire wasn't too impressive quality wise (although the speed and compatibility was execellent) and HIS and MSI is... completely unknown to me. So, the above wins by default
  9. Watch at your own risk. You might end up sitting and humming "Get Perpendicular..."
  10. Do they? I think this was the point all along. Games appear to be created exclusively to entertain, which doesn't fit with other definitions of art. That means so many millions people, musicians, poets, writers, singers, painters, actors etc. have been wrongly classified over the years. They weren't artists, they were... something else. Poor Shakespeare and Michelangelo
  11. Executive summary: They had a royal family that, while not being particularly progressive, wasn't too oppressive either (all things considered). A junior member of the family then murdered them all and seized power, deciding to run the country in a completely authoritarian and abusive way. Nobody really liked the new guy.
  12. DRM is just a way for companies to express how much they hate their customers. Some are in favour of brutal, corporeal spanking of their customers while others just tell their customers how much they suck for buying their products. It is not limited to the gaming industry, as the movie industry is very bad in this regard too.
  13. Uh huh... That is why all we have left are bad shooters and RTS's Bastards, you've murdered all the good games.
  14. Which is why those gangs are so eager to kill anybody who threatens their share of the transport market in Mexico. Street Prices were at the time of this article $175K (for what you paid $300 in the source country). The trafficking can employ a lot couriers and hitmen and still make some string puller filthy rich.
  15. Good question. Is it on-line configuration? Your OP mentioned dual channel specifically. Edit: I think I found the place. Tried to run a Desktop Studio xps 9000 through the configuration process. Lazy bastards doesn't tell exactly for the configuration. 8Gb is explicitly mentioned as dual channel and 12 + 24 Gb as tri channel. No info whatsoever on the 9 Gb. Any chance you could ask your rep to verify? It does make a difference
  16. I tried to go with the i5 for the Turbo Boost performance but as you've seen there isnt a decent video card option for that config. Ive decided to go with this: PROCESSORS Intel
  17. The End?
  18. Start of old thread End of old thread Zombi Holocaust. Yeah, I'm sucker for those old dead good movies.
  19. I use it on rare occasions, like at gunpoint when no other option is available, and then only the pay without having an account option. Happens once or twice a year. Anyway, Samorost 2 added to the bundle. "Retrofitted" to the bundle for those who already bought it
  20. A permanent residency application I got tired of always living on a temporary business visa that needs renewing. I think I'll stay for a while. Did the two sessions of my medical examination last week. I'm disgustingly healthy. I should do more violence to my body. Got a copy of my police record from Denmark. Waiting for the (similar) papers to arrive from New Zealand and the Australian Federal Police (I'm probably going to regret those speeding tickets).
  21. I haven't played the games, so I didn't have any expectations before watching the first one. Same deal with Silent Hill
  22. Aww... Finished second part of my test today. I think it went well, but reality will knock on my door within the next two weeks when I receive the score. I sure hope they assess the language and not the technical merits of my suggested urban infrastructure changes
  23. Yeah, excuses. Pesonally, I think they should be given their freedom. I can't remember the group verdict on the Resident Evil movies, too lazy to browse backwards in this thread, but I actually quite liked those (bought all 3 on dvd). Sort of sci-fi'ish I suppose.
  24. I wonder if you would think the same way when they come and pick you up in the night, because one of your neighbours reported that there has been a light on in your garage at night the last five days and you get stripped of your citizenship, locked up in a non-disclosed location with no contact to the outside world for an indeterminate period of time.
