Have you tried Mechromancer? The game gets positively insane if you play an Anarchy build and hit high numbers on its stacks. Level 52 Gaige.... currently maxed out in the BFF skill tree, so not quite maxed out yet in Anarchy. But I love it. Especially with the 'Close Enough' and 'The N'th Degree' skills (yet to get 5 skill points in the latter, so not feeling its full effect) "Accuracy is overrated anyway" We started on 'Tiny Tina's assault on Dragons Reach'. Bunkers and Badasses indeed. It's like watching some of those old and funny cartoons of very bad D&D sessions

I decided that my old laptop is so old it's becoming a liability having it as my only pc at home, so started building a new desktop pc. No liquid cooling this time. Completely lost when it comes to gfx cards these days (bastard bitcoin miners). Currently using the built in Intel "graphics" that came with the motherboard

Saw this show in Brisbane not long ago
-
Really bad sound quality, sorry. Peoples phones just weren't up to the task. Went and saw these guys a week ago (we are somehwere not too far from the stage). I wish we had some HQ recording from the concert...
-
Not the Melbourne concert unfortunately, couldn't find any good recordings from the event: (the concert below was just a few weeks earlier, comparable performance although the Melbourne audience were considerably "livelier" with crowd surfing and everything else that goes with an animated bunch of people)

I've been gone so long, I guess I should call my post "What do you do this year?" Started in a new job about a month ago, so that was an exciting time. But, to start from the beginning, made a friend playing swtor about a year ago. We don't play the game anymore, but that wasn't quite the end of it. I guess you could say, it's a bit more than just a casual online friendship. Spending quite a bit of time doing things together, attending concerts, shows, performances or just checking out the local Pancake Palace at 2am, trekking through the local rain forests etc.. The downside of living in two different corners of the country I guess, have to make maximum use of the time we do have. We went and saw Disney's Aladdin in Melbourne, as well as concerts with US bands 'Incubus' and 'The Killers' I also got to see 'The Rocky Horror Picture Show' in Brisbane, alone unfortunately, but she was adamant I had to go and see it, even if she couldn't make it. Got tickets for Opera House in Sydney, so we are going to see Bill Murray and Jan Vogler there later this year. I feel culturally very enlightened Edit: Going to put some youtube links in the appropriate thread

My new favourite game is Borderlands 2.... Killed a few raid bosses with my friends. Got a level 72 Siren that I'm trying to get to OP1 A level 58 Commando that I'm trying to get the hang of A level 52 Psycho which is my absolute favourite so far. When not playing Borderlands 2, it's usually Age of Empires II (HD edition)

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)
Gorth replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Scum and Villainy used to be a very fun raid on nightmare. I don't know if the instance made it through all the upscaling and expansions intact though. It's been well over two years now that I last played SW:TOR. With a bit of luck, I'll be able to tell you in a not so distant future. For now, we still got a pair of twin sisters to bring down. -
SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)

Words are insufficient to describe the damage Ben Irving (the old lead producer) did to this game. Hats off to the new guy, who at least tries some damage control by adding new multiplayer content and reducing the cxp grind a bit. Still, the latter should just have been removed completely. I quite enjoyed the new flashpoint, although I guess it's boring outside of "master mode". It really has some nice challenges in the various boss fights! My friends and I almost beat Trial and Error in master mode too about a week ago, but damn, the last boss just knocked the stuffing out of us when we got there. Wasted soooo much time on the second boss(es, since they are a pair) THe main activity is on the weekends though where our raid team regularly kills Tyth so we can progress on A&E. Getting the twins down to around 20% now, which is effectively the burn phase where you have to start pushing them into overdrive mode and get rid of the tank swap requirement. We still struggle to control the countermeasures in this phase, which is what wipes us (healers getting too many stacks, so less and less healing forthcoming). We'll get them too though. But... I &^%$$ hate Tyth by now. You can do everything perfectly and not stand a chance thanks to RNG when the adds spawn. We started swapping lockouts with some other guilds occasionally, cross faction too, so we don't have to kill him each and every Saturday. I believe once the sisters are down, NiM Scum and Villainy is next on our schedule (keeping my old shadow tank busy!) -
Your Gender/Sex IN VIDEO GAMES, and does it matter to you?
Gorth replied to nstgc's topic in Computer and Console
Didn't vote and for what it's worth, my thoughts are very similar to Teknomans on the subject. If there are story differences, I play through as both genders, if no difference, I couldn't care less. If the only difference is a visual one, then yes, I prefer to stare at female butts when running around. If a fixed protagonist, I just lean back and enjoy. I had fun playing the nameless one in Planescape: Torment just as I had fun playing Lara Croft n Tomb Raider. Both of the latter were for me games where gender was completely irrelevant to the experience. Ok, so Lara did look good in that wetsuit... -
A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the (Obsidian) Forum

The Danish one sounds about right too (archaic spelling though. The 'j' isn't really used anymore) -
When are you guys gonna open up a gear store?
Gorth replied to DarkTower's topic in Obsidian General
Been there, asked that question in the past! (April 2006) (from an old ask FU a number of questions thread) "I'm cheating outragously and posting two questions in one post: 1) Business Development Manager being part of your description, what is in your personal assessment at the time of writing the most profitable (ROI ?) market gaming wise and will you/Obsidian have a go at that market ? Why/Why not ? Not so much platforms, but game genres and demographic target groups. 2) How do you (and your fellow Obsidianites for that matter) feel about merchandising ? Will we see g-strings with Obsidian logos, t-shirts with your resident artists concept art on them, coffee cup with your portrait on it etc. I for one would buy at least 5 cups, one with each company founder on it, if it would support one of those less profitable isometric party based crpgs being self published and developed... I have a bit of vacation starting after today. Took next week off. First time since 2015 that I've taken more than 3 days off in the same year. Got a new BBQ, New outdoor furniture arrives tomorrow and it's a nice 25C today. Not too bad overall

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)
Gorth replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
*pokes dead horse with a stick* Much to my surprise, I still play this game. The little republic guild I joined end of last year is still hanging in there, fighting tooth and claw to stay alive. It's mostly a "weekend warrior" guild though. Said weekends are fun though, doing a rotation of the usual 4 HM Ops (SnV, TfB, DF and DP), having done one of those each of Saturdays and Sundays and now getting started on HM Gods from the Machine this weekend. Branched out a bit from playing mostly (shadow/assassin) tanks to also play (shadow/assassin) dps. Currently pulling around 10500 on the 1.5m dummy and 9800 on the 2.5 dummy. Trying to get to 10000 too on the 2.5m dummy (Deception/Infiltration discipline, so burst spec, not sustained). Very convenient in HM SnV where I switch from tank to dps for the Styrak fight -
Too lazy to seach for 10+ year old posts, but I seem to remember suggesting that a decade ago. Where is my Obsidian logo coffee mug??? Edit to add: I can recommend Discord for those who are interested in things like "Obsidian Plays" etc.

The number of Polish immigrants (700000+) was a contributing factor behind the UK's wish for a Brexit (i.e. stop the immigrants!). Indians are the only immigrant group that is more numerous in the UK now and India has some historical ties with the UK from colonial times, being part of the Commonwealth etc. But, I don't live in the UK anymore, so my interest in immigration politics there is mostly just curiosity now. Most likely outcome is, those who have been living there for a while as part of the EU free movement of work force agreements will get some special status allowing them to remain.

Start of old Thread End of old Thread Sorry to hear that Majestic... Starting to wonder if I shouldn't try this annual leave thing some day. Had 3 days off between Christmas and New Year, which again was my only leave since Christmas the year before that again. Might be nice to actually kick back and relax a bit some day Oh, and a nice 26 degrees Celcius here today, just at the start of winter (just wanted to rub it in).

Not sure how many people have seen this old British comedy series called "Yes Prime Minister!". Jim Hacker (the PM) explains who reads the newspapers Hacker: Don't tell me about the press. I know exactly who reads the papers. The Daily Mirror is read by people who think they run the country; The Guardian is read by people who think they ought to run the country; The Times is read by the people who actually do run the country; the Daily Mail is read by the wives of the people who run the country; the Financial Times is read by people who own the country; the Morning Star is read by people who think the country ought to be run by another country, and the Daily Telegraph is read by people who think it is. Sir Humphrey: Prime Minister, what about the people who read The Sun? Bernard: Sun readers don't care who runs the country, as long as she's got big ****.

BBC Coverage Nineteen people have been killed and more than 50 injured in a suspected terror attack at Manchester Arena. The blast happened at 22:35 BST on Monday following a pop concert by the US singer Ariana Grande. PM Theresa May said her thoughts were with those affected by "what is being treated by the police as an appalling terrorist attack". Paramedics at the scene told the BBC they had treated some of the wounded for "shrapnel-like injuries". Condolences to those who lost family, friends and loved ones.
