What are you playing right now?
I tried a few hours of "Don't starve together" last night with 3 other people. It was surprisingly fun, but it does have a slightly steep learning curve the first few game days. I managed to get killed right away (not recognizing the hunger, health and sanity gauges for what they were), but luckily one of the other 3 is a bit of a veteran of the game and resurrected me. Haunting rocks and rabbits is only so much fun We made it to day twenty something, having a nice little camp, which in hindsight is probably too close to a spider nest. Days are getting shorter (and colder!) and nights are getting longer. What can I say? "Winter is coming!..."

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS
Start of old thread End of old thread A bit in the same boat. I've got GOG, Steam and Origin games (the latter being a few Bioware games). Also a lot of games from Gamersgate, although I guess download clients and updaters in the end won out,

State your profession!
I make my living as a developer (software). Been doing it for 25+ years. I always wanted to pursue biology, but that sort of never materialized.

The Political Thread - Browncoat edition... down with the Alliance!
Pfff..., couldn't help laughing a bit. The article went fine until the 'conservatism' part came out of nowhere, not related to anything in the article really. I guess asking someone to define 'conservative values' is as futile as asking someone to define what makes a crpg a role playing game. I finally did find out what the heck a maga hat is though. Google ftw. Edit: I guess reading the article was sort of like Uh huh... Sure... Yeah... Humm... ... Say wut???

Unfounded Whispers About Kotor III
As much as I would love a Kotor III, I just don't see it happen. At least not in something that is comparable to a 10+ old format. Despite your aversion towards the MMO, I would probably recommend trying it out. It's free to play and if you play the Jedi Knight story (solo, don't need to team up with people), it's more or less a continuation of the story.

What are you playing right now?
I tried out something called jackbox games the other night. One friend was hosting it and sharing her screen via teamviewer, the rest of us using our mobile phones as remote controllers. It was fun. I really am awful at 'drawful' though

The Political Thread - Browncoat edition... down with the Alliance!
Define "better"?.... Well, at least it works in a place like Denmark. They currently have 9 parties in parliament. I do remember from my childhood and teenage years that there used to be quite a few more. I can remember at least 5 parties from top of my head not on this list. It has happened that the major parties actually formed governments across the "left/right" divide (something that might currently be unthinkable in the US) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_political_parties_in_Denmark Is it efficient? Probably not. But, it seems to work. Many views gets represented and extremes generally gets avoided. Mind you, haven't been keeping tabs on the old country the last 17-18 years.

Based on bad memory, but iirc. he didn't even want this fight in the first place until he felt encouraged by a number of republicans, after which it became this all or nothing, poorly thought out (typical for Trump) bar brawl with the democrats and partial government shutdowns. It's like the fight is more important to him than the cause and the results.

More Guild Wars 2.... "The Desolation". One of those days where I'm quite happy without the full virtual reality experience. Those wastes and boiling pits are sulfur. Anyone remember from chemistry class what boiling sulfur smells like? Yeah, the rotten egg stench would probably have made my nostrils bleed!

Deleted a few posts. I would recommend commenting on the subject and the ideas, not on fellow posters.

What did you do today?
I was a late comer to PC My first email address was indeed gorth@soemthinguniversity.dk in 1991 but my computer at home for many years (and my first internet capable computer) was ye olde Commodore Amiga. I did get TCP/IP for my old Commodore 64 too, but never got to use it. The Amiga however was active on the net until it got retired. It was actually Fallout (the official demo that got released) and Tomb Raider that was to blame for that. Couldn't run properly on the PC Emulator I had I *think* my first PC was a Pentium II that I built. Edit: I had email address at uni before that, but it was the first with my old gamer name (Gorth as in, the chosen one, saviour of the universe, slayer of Doomdark etc. is from around 1982)

Trailer gets 1 million views in less than a day
8.7 million views in less than 2 months. Not bad for a non triple a title I guess

What did you do today?
Experiencing "global warming" up close and personal I think it's going to be one of those days today indeed. 35 degrees when I got out of bed this morning (that's 95f for North Americans). Forecast says 45-46 in the afternoon (113-115f). I saw pictures from South Australia where people were baking cookies on rocks outside their home.

The Food Thread
I'll admit my infatuation with the BBQ (A "Baby Weber" special edition) is because it's practical. Little cleaning required afterwards and no food smell lingering indoors for the next 6-12 hours. Most meats (steak, fish, chicken) can be cooked in 10 minutes. I usually give the fish (I love fresh salmon sides) a bit longer. I do have a "flat" plate for things like fish and vegetables (grilled pumpkin is good). Potatoes... well, they do need almost a full hour at low heat. Wrapped in aluminium foil with a bit of olive oil and herbs, served with chicken, creme fraiche, corn or whatever you like to add for flavour.

Were your parents by any chance French? I remember working on a project outside Paris for a while.... the local places seemed obsessed with boiling otherwise perfectly good meat Meat belongs on a BBQ dammit!

Taken with the built in function. My little Asura engineer guy feels a bit... lost in the jungle?

Thanks Fenixp, I'll give that a (screen)shot on Dosbox I did try ShadowPlay (I have an nVidia card), but it was too awkward and too cumbersome to use with it's default shortcuts. I might have to see if something can be done about that though. Ideally it would be one background program fits all purposes.

Hmm... I think I need to go hunting for some "screenshot" software that is easy to use. I love it when games have support for the Print Screen key, but lots of especially older games don't. Open to recommendations (works with Dosbox and old GoG games is an added bonus).

The Political Thread - Browncoat edition... down with the Alliance!
And here I thought all Americans loved Trump and they (except the filthy commies democrats of course, it's a known fact they hate America, guns and freedom and democracy and whatever) would happily sacrifice everything to benefit from the protection of a medieval style wall! Now, if it started to affect his own businesses, then who knows, compromise (actual compromise) might be a possibility?

Start of the old thread End of the old thread Several, lesser known titles. If nothing else, just to see what it was I actually bought Two that I remember from top of my head (from the last 24 hours) "RWBY" and "Don't Starve Together" (edit: played quite a bit of Borderlands 2: The Pre-sequel" in coop mode earlier in the week with two friends)
