Clever business people. Give us all your money or we break your kids heart! You weren't allowed to call the police hostage negotiators? On a sidenote, A/C's are a mixed blessing. Spent the entire past week with a severe cold, despite there being close to 30C outside during daytime. Blasted icy cold rooms... *sniff*

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)
Gorth replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
The new gearing process is Biowares way of telling people to "GTFO" and "Transfer to another game" I suppose. Nothing about it looks fun or interesting, rather more like 180 degree the opposite. As for story, lost interest in the Zakuul stuff a long time ago. Only chapter that was any fun so far was the Shroud bonus chapter. Only thing that would vaguely rekindle my interest is if I get to kill Quinn. Then I would finish the expansion on all the alts that started on it just so I could kill him a dozen times. Who cares about romancing Arcann??? People are weird. Give me a romance option for Scorpio instead. Hottest bot in the galaxy Edit to add: Was it my imagination or are they revisiting the idea of M4-78? -
Still plugging away at hm master and blaster in Swtor. Now practicing phase 2 and making it to second rain of pain. Need to work a bit on positioning there and then we should be ready for the last "burn" phase. Sheesh those mocking taunts from master are getting annoying

New thread here

Start of old thread End of old thread While waiting for Tyranny to download, we had a go at HM Master & Blaster in Swtor. That smug taunt of Blasters after each wipe is seriously getting on my nerves now We were trying a new tactic for phase 1 to see if we could work around the random nature of it in a more predictable way. I.e. a routine that would allow us to consistently reach phase 2. Our poor Juggernaut tank was probably going insane first from gettng the timing right for such a long period of time and later from boredom when he got a bit of alacrity so it wasn't millisecond timing anymore (using the ability to lower cooldown on force jump when attacked and immunity to knockbacks after force jump means he can jump the boss, ignore the knockback, walk backwards and jump him again, rinse and repeat for much of the encounter). We got phase 1 pretty much perfected so we can do it consistently, but sadly didn't get much time for me to practise dealing with Master in phase 2. Ah well, next time we'll get to phase 2 much faster and consistently. With the phase 1 method above, not much need for hydraulic overrides anyway, so I'm going to focus on gearing up my old assassin to deal with Master.

Ignore the barbarians at the gate... I noticed the painter did a bit of self censorship. Cleverly hiding the guys right hand and left foot (which were supposedly severed) behind him and his rib cage doesn't look particularly crushed (I guess people only wanted so much blood and gore in a painting)

Our Lizard Overlords has sent his representative to my place again... Not really, but I was delighted to see that my matted glass window next to my front door has yet again become home to a gecko at night. Little guy just seems have worked out a good deal there, sitting and waiting for insects to be attracted by the light. Sometimes I even leave the light on at night just for its benefit. Yeah, I'm silly like that sometimes.

Sorry if this is a repeat, but I haven't followed this thread much the last 24 hours. Thought it was funny. Yes, I know it's coincidence and not any powers of foresight. Back to the future: how the Simpsons and others predicted President Trump "Sixteen years ago it was a punchline for Lisa Simpson. In Back to the Future, he was the model for the bullying bad guy. Is the joke still funny?" Short version, Lisa becomes the first female president, having the to pick up the pieces of President Trumps financial mismanagement.

My newfound friends in Swtor decided yesterday should be one of easy stuff and relaxation, so we just did the first 3 bosses of HM Ravagers to get a number of lockouts on Master & Blaster for the weekend. HM Torque sure is a challenge to maintain an overview of the encounter on a small laptop screen. Which reminds me, time to go shopping for a monitor and a decent mouse.

Here it's mostly the introduced species, like canetoads and backpackers.

It was a choice between the Creep and the Creepy, take your pick. Both the Republicans and the Democrats seems to have grossly underestimated peoples resentment against the political "elite" all the way from the first nominations taking place until last night. Similar to the sentiments in Denmark in 1992 when the majority of people rejected the Maastricht treaty with a No result, despite the political elite campaigning for a Yes, Brexit showed (amongst other things) that people don't trust politicians as far as they can throw them, the less they have to say, the better.

Well the election results, as we all know, was rigged. Trump himself said so. Better start auditing and recounting votes now

Looks like a done deal. Dow Jones is already crashing at an impressive rate and gold prices are skyrocketing. You still got yours GD?

I don't know much about the US constitutions history, but sometimes, when you hear what's in there, you get the feeling it was designed for 13 states and doesn't necessarily "scale" well

For no reason whatsoever I just thought about choices in Bioware games. Doesn't matter what you pick, the outcome is the same: You're screwed

SW: The Old Republic - Episode VIII (May RNG Be With You)
Gorth replied to Blarghagh's topic in Computer and Console
Discovered something new and interesting in the game: HM Monolith on Ziost is really hard The world boss and the story mode fight was pushovers, people just fooling around and killing him while joking. Hard mode however... a different matter altogether. So much raid wide, unavoidable damage. Yes, all 8 of us had the world boss buff. Going to try again with 3 healers (i.e. 3 healers, 4 dps one of them with taunt and me as tank) and see if that can keep us alive. Better to die to enrage than not even getting to enrage. That Bite Wound debuff/bleed does hurts like ****. Our poor off tank died several times to the first aoe damage done after just one stack. I still need to practise my positioning of the boss, not being particularly intelligent about where I put myself at the moment to be honest. Third Bite Wound knockback seems to always get me close to a Rift. -

Sorry, meant to close the thread with my previous post. Lets keep the discussion in the existing thread -
...and finished the hm dread palace run. those guys made it look easy, carrying this old body along with them. back to look at gearing. never thought i should see day, but i replaced all my unlettered mods with 'b' mods to inflate hitpoints. people agreed i wouldn't survive my first nim encounter without that. having a blast in the game at the moment

I've been doing the story mode operations for a long time now. At one point I was doing 2 or 3 a day which is why I eventually also got tired of that, just being too easy. It' sadly just now, 7 days before I was about to put game on the shelf for good (my sub was about to expire) that I found a group of people through one of those chance encounters, that was happy to take me in so speak, and show me the fun of HM Ops (I don't count EV and KP as hm challenges). But yes, been doing all the old ops from ev to tos in sm to the point of drifting off, my attention wandering, while doing M&B and Underlurker Doing HM re-ignited my interest in them because of the added challenge of the mechanics that either never were or got nerfed in 4.0 from sm ops. TfB will always have a special place in my memory, being the first ops I did. SnV for the sheer fun (only Ravagers gets close to the that irreverent atmosphere of not intended to be taken quite too seriously story wise). DF and DP are fun in each their own way, but TfB and SnV probably does appeal more to me. Never really liked Revan as a character or the story, so that probably makes me very indifferent towards ToS.

The new Chris Avellone interview

As Infinitron tries so subtly to point out, it's old news (existing thread in his linl) Besides the interview is mostly about Fallout and Obsidian and not much (if anything to do with Pillars of Eternity). -
Another fun night in Swtor. Got started too late to finish the raid, but at got raptus downed in dread palace. Now I just need the dread council to cross dp off my hard mode to do list. The "boss" wants to do that tonight so we can move on to him dp friday (we were doing all those hm ops for my benefit as they are old easy stuff for the rest of the group, most of which spout revanchist, dragonslayer, gate crasher etc. titles). Yes, I really am the "junior" member, but guys are being great and helpful

It was that time of year again... (dramatic pause) People all over the country putting down there tools and stop working, gathering together in lunch rooms with their beer and snacks. Yes, it was the 156th Melbourne Cup. No, none of the horses I bought in the office sweepstake won anything. Ah well, next year is another race.
