  1. Rogue has to be one of those English words that are just hard to get right. Up there with those sharp edged celestial beings (Angels -> Angles). The sheer number of Angles of Death and Rouge Traders you came across n Wh40k. Those make-up peddlers were all over the galaxy
  2. Typical Queensland weather... did my laundry early Sunday afternoon and hung it out on the lines to dry. Late in the afternoon, I got a 5 minute warning, bright flash followed immediately by the boom knocking me backwards in my chair Sky turned pitch black in a matter of minutes and it was a mix of torrential rain, hail and thunder and lightning the following 30 minutes. Early evening and my poor clothes was soaking wet. As in way more wet than when I took it out of the washing machine At least the temperature dropped from 30c to 25c, but air humidity was through the roof.
  3. Classless experience based. Assuming I can lump games like the Fallouts into that category? Not being much of a "power gamer" in general, I love creating outlandish, outrageous characters. A bit hit or miss if they perform well in a game, but more fun for me to play none the less.
  4. I wish more games used the Jagged Alliance 2 / X-Com 3: Apocalypse approach... real time until combat is commenced, then turn based using an initiative system (with the hilarity that follows from bad/luck interrupt rolls)
  5. Just go ahead and do that stuff now if you want, it's perfectly fine to do so. In my opinion, a certain dungeon beneath the hangman tree is more challenging early on, well with one clear exception, but I won't spoil anything for you. If it's the temple under the big tree, yeah, went there as one of the first things I did. Found it somewhat challenging (on default difficulty) I quite liked it though, gave me that "IWD Vibe". Off to visit the lordling it is then
  6. Going to finish chapter 9 (last chapter) in the swtor expansion and in Pillars of Eternity, I'm going meet someone who wants to talk to me in the Ducal Palace. My expansions of the keep are coming along nicely too. Haven't seen too many of them, but some of those visitors you get were nice little distractions. Edit: Speaking of PoE I made my way to the home of that lordling that decided to hang people in the neighbourhood. Made some roads inwards in his castle, but not sure if I'm supposed to be doing that at this stage in the game or just leave it be until later.
  7. Depending on the execution of it, they might have made it a more "credible" story by emphasizing your Mandalorian heritage rather than your bounty hunter heritage. There does seem to be some loose association between Mandalorian clans and the Empire. At least enough for them to have their own enclave in Dromund Kaas. I really resented Gault when playing my first character. Eventually he grew on me, but it did take 2-3 years of real time Edit: as for why I picked the bounty hunter for my first class, 2 reasons: Mako was cute and I loved the armour displayer on their website for the powertech class (which of course was no longer available ingame when I started playing)
  8. Dulfys short version of coming gearing changes *Facepalm!* Ok, who didn't see that one coming. I guess plummeting subscriber numbers must have sent them scrambling. Introducing unassembled gear token drops from ops bosses end of January.
  9. Never underestimate the anger resulting from snowballs! Edit: Which gives 20 cxp btw when you score a snow covered parcel
  10. The lack of any decent ending didn't ruin the game for me. Kai Leng did a much better job of that. To be fair, the ME3 had some pretty good bits of story in between the bad parts. Some of them I even found awesome.
  11. Forgot to mention that I've been going through the Jedi Knight story with the DvL character I created for that event. I hit level 70 on Taris but my bonus series is all messed up. I was able to complete quests out of order and it seems to have broken the whole thing. I put in a ticket two days ago and still no response but I guess I shouldn't be surprised since I still have an active ticket from last week that hasn't been looked at either There is always so many bugs when they release major changes. I don't envy the CS people. Well, since Bioware doesn't seem to be happy that players don't play the game the way *they* want to, I took their not so subtle hints and went back a to my game of Pillars of Eternity. If they want me to play single player games, I'll stick with single player games that doesn't come with a monthly fee.
  12. I stopped reading at this part 'Even without Iran’s direction and sponsorship of militias killing of thousands of American soldiers in Iraq'... Hands up anyone who believes the Sunni insurgents are supported and backed by Iran? Bonus points if anyone believes Trump is going to tell Boeing to drop the new deal for 80 airplanes destined for Iran.
  13. Favorite Rodney Dangerfield quote: "I don't know if you are familiar with who runs that business but I assure you it is not the boy scouts." "Waste Management"... Just couldn't help reminding me of the Sopranos.
  14. Yeah, works the same way as Bestia adds for levelling up. Kill the adds before first boss (gives 20 cxp each) and then leave and reset the instance. Rinse and repeat until bored to tears or weekly cap is hit. No, haven't done it. Levelling up a dozen alts via Bestia was more mind numbingly boring grind than any human player should ever have to suffer. Got lucky and found a group of Spaniards doing DF yesterday on Red Eclipse. Otherwise 95% of the chatter on fleet is looking for groups for grinding kp adds. Game is more dead than it has been for years. Did try two different pug groups for Ravagers with rather predictable results. One group couldn't beat sparky (no kidding), enraging first at 40% and in the best try got him to 25%. Second group was looking for a tank for master and blaster and onwards. Same result, got to burn phase a few times and couldn't beat the enrage timers. Yes, it was story mode. Sad state of affairs.
  15. Tried a pair of hm (veteran?) uprisings yesterday. Not much to do on a lazy Sunday evening anyway. It was... Ok. At least a change from the same old flashpoints. None of us had really set foot in an uprising before, so didn't quite know what to expect. Also finished chapter 7 in the kofet story. Some gorgeous planet they constructed there. A shame it's likely to never be used for anything else.
  16. for what it's worth, at least up to end of chapter 6, i find the story light years ahead of the first expansion. Figured i would finish it on at least one alt.
  17. Been thinking about it a bit now that the debates seems to have quieted down a bit. Love him, hate him, I always try to think what would the alternative have been and asking myself the question, would Cuba have been better off with Castro and "communism" or Batista and low key US colonialism? I'm not convinced a continued military dictatorship would've been better.
  18. Our raid boss thought it was a good time to prepare for NiM ops (not even level 70 yet, so we started out getting the team levelled up). As soon as the rest had hit 70, off to HM DP while being silly under geared (216/220/224 stuff). It was.... educational and you realised how much being way over geared helped you get away with a the end of 4.0. Not at least thanks to the idiocy that was dropping BiS gear from HM EV and KP. Got our work cut out for us as gearing up is not a priority until the cluster**** that is the command system gets fixed.
  19. Woke up at 2:30 in the night. Not voluntarily, but I have for habit sleeping with open windows this time of year (temperatures being around 20C at night) Didn't noticed the thunderstorm sneaking up on my until it sprung it's surprise. Alarm clocks have nothing on a lightning strike close enough to not having any delay between the bright light and the sound Didn't get more sleep that night, so it's a very long day at work today.
  20. Just for fun, tried a star fortress in heroics mode with a guy looking for a group on Odessen. It was the longest and most painful star fortress ever. the mechanics are completely broken. With a tach accuracy of 110.14% and his force accuracy also being 110+ percent, between 80 and 90 percent of all out attacks got resisted, dodged, deflected etc. It just took forever and we wiped several time on the exarch. because we did so little damage, our healer companions invariably ended up having boss aggro. After persevering for 2 hours, the Belsavis boss was dead (lots of micro management of healers sending them running after us in passive mode to evade the boss until aggro was lost). Of course, the boss doesn't drop a single thing anymore. Way to go Bioware. Edit: Of course we missed each and every interrupt (as they depend on accuracy too), so boss got pretty much a free run with nothing interrupted
  21. Apparently the blue chiss girl was supposed to have an alliance alert. Guess what? Never saw the shadow of such an alert. She is now another generic companion with no backstory and no personality. Thank you for letting us grind to the second highest DvL tier for nothing Bioware.
  22. Someone somewhere dubbed it the NGE (New Grind Experience). A play on the fate of SWG which apparently didn't survive some bad decisions either. Curious about how this affect current subscriber numbers. In any case, bored to tears grinding Bestia adds. It's just the fastest way to level up alts. Usually from 65 to 70 in about 20-25 minutes and then the real grind starts
  23. HM EV is perfectly doable in a mix of 216/220 gear with set bonuses. A few of the dps guys in my regular group were dying to try out starparse with the class changes. My poor assassin girl getting rushed to 70 so they had a tank on voice chat (I assume to use my countdown for optimal openers). It was as easy as ever. Did chapter I on an alt. Not sure what to think of the story yet, but I did like stomping the pesky little skytroopers with my big walker feet. The command point system has no redeeming qualities whatsoever.
  24. Enough fun already... New thread here
