  1. Funny English aside, it's a fun game. I've been playing it on and off the last month. Usually in short sessions between other things I need to do. I might just have to get a controller for it though.
  2. Not sure if it makes you feel any better, but the majority of the trash fights are scripted in a way that constantly forces you out of stealth. Can't have people skipping the trash now, can we? Which means as a stealth class you get none of the benefits of your ranged counterpart and none of the benefits of stealth
  3. @Gromnir: Don't know about the burger, but I've yet to come across any sentient being that turns down the fries. Been handfeeding them to everything from Pelicans to giant Lizards and they just can't get enough of that junk. I'll probably get in trouble with PETA now... Edit: Actually, not sure if my examples qualifies as sentient beings, but lets just say I've yet to run across life forms turning them down.
  4. You may not have succeeded, but you gave it a serious try. In case the Universe dishes out Karma points, I would say you earned yours for good intentions backed up by action. Got my new fridge yesterday. One more thing off my chest. Still getting used to sleep on a mattress instead of the floor. Oh the luxury! Next up is a washing machine, should arrive next weekend. Then I just need that container load of stuff (living room, dining room, bedroom furniture etc.) in storage in Europe to get shipped down here. Need to save a bit longer for that.
  5. *Sniff?*... *sniff!* *sniff!*... I smell an Eldar alt
  6. Continuing my POE adventure. Located the blacksmiths wagon and killed the bandits, but failed to find the supplies. Will have to return a do a more thorough search later. Currently just started on Caed Nue. Picked up Kana the Bard Chanter and gave up making head or tail of the chant system. Maybe another nights sleep will help You know this feeling, just explore one more dark corner before resting, even if all your party members are below 50% health and Aloth all out of spells except 1 level two spell? Yeah, that's me. In the very last corner I ran into an oversized tarantula and my party wasn't doing well. My barbarian protagonist was down as was Durance, so as a desperate last ditch attempt at going down in flames, I sent Aloth up next to the spider and cast that bouncing fire thing of his. It worked wonders in that little enclosed corner, bouncing back and forth... back and forth... etc. wiping out the spider and the party minus Kana who had the good sense to sing something in the background. Met the guy I was supposed to meet and got some background info on souls and reincarnation ("awakening"), but not much insight into Watchers. Got a camp set up and prepared for the continuing journey... need to find a way further down and the force field door is still laughing at me.
  7. If they ever start on a single player Pathfinder CRPG, I hope it meets a better fate than the Pathfinder MMO
  8. I hope somebody here will take one for the team and subscribe so I can hear how the game plays out when 5.0 gets released. Yeah, ever curious by nature (and my own sub runs out in 4 weeks), but not going to stay a sub and too lazy to play as preferred status. 3.0 and 4.0 were both giant leaps backwards in "fun gameplay" for me and 5.0 looks like it's continuing that trend. It could also just be that I never forgave Bioware for removing Full Auto/Unload from my Powertech. Maybe a bit of both.
  9. Been playing A Curious Expedition every now and then. Probably going to start a new campaign now that I've learnt the basics. Latest setback was when my Chef lost his sanity and cooked and served the Nun I had brought along for missionary purposes and my local tribesman guide picked up a whiskey addiction
  10. A number of those desktop icons are suspiciously blurry. Which software has the best "sharpening" tools?
  11. Overthrowing governments is an old and time-honoured tradition in Europe
  12. Never underestimate full-contact chess! Slept on a mattress for the first time since last week. I'm getting old and soft, quite liked not sleeping on the floor anymore
  13. Yeah, read that on the official forums I don't know if my non-recurring subscription has enough days left to get the start of the expansion, but it's not going to get renewed. Good thing I got a few other games picked up. PoE and Dishonored are still waiting for me... time to give my wallet a much needed break.
  14. Mate, depending on class you can get a ship in 30-45 minutes by rushing your class mission on the capital world I'be seen level 65's having to give up on group content because not even guild ship transport works if the player doesn't have a ship
  15. Rule #1 Never queue for ops via GF. I don't think I ever had it pop for me. Go to fleet, wait patiently for a while until a group starts forming for the GF ops of the day and whisper the ops leader as soon as you see someone needing either dps or all roles. During weekends, I usually get 2-3 ops runs a day for my dps alts that way (goes for both Harbinger and TRE).
  16. Yeah, so.... like so many other games, I usually don't get started until everyone else are done and dusted with it. Finally got around to do some serious Pillars of Eternity gaming. Serious as in making it out of the very first cave and to the Gilded Vale and picking up 2 companions. I couldn't help but laugh out loud when the elf told the villager to go his sister
  17. It's been a while since I got my 2 alts to where I wanted them (the "new companion" achievement). Sort of a sucker for operations, so I would recommend that as a fast levelling up tool once your alts hits level 50. Had an old level 54 scoundrel healer girl and just the last boss fight in TfB (plus the 3 hour exp boost) took her from 54 to 58 in 15 minutes. Rinse and repeat once or twice. It's currently double xp time too. Edit: Which admittedly also included the one time story bonus for doing the Terror from Beyond intro and outro conversations for some generous xp.
  18. Yeah but in those days alcohol was likely involved.Doing my time sleeping on the floor... Now where is the alcohol to soften up these old bones??? Gorthie but my understanding is the average Australian doesn't even own a bed as its considered pretentious I'm an immigrant. Aren't you supposed to be unconditionally supportive of me? The average Aussie probably also has a six pack in the fridge. Right now I would settle for having a fridge... Going to get a bed on Tuesday though and a fridge and a washing machine too next weekend (as well as internet, giving my mobile phone a break)

  20. Moving out of my serviced apartment and into my new place tomorrow. Got most things organised, although Internet wont be connected until end of October. Bummer. Oh, and I suppose sleeping on the floor is going to make me feel all young again! Yes, a bed is top of my shopping list. Then a fridge, microwave and washing machine. The joys of moving in lots of months before your old stuff can arrive back where it started.
  21. Sort of. They made everything so easy now that balancing is a moot point. Companions are way overpowered, in-game economy has collapsed (makes post WWI German economy look rock solid by comparison) because of inflation (thanks to people getting freight trains loaded with credits for the recycled, dumbed down heroics) and pvp is pvp. Flavour of the month/year is healers. Best raid gear ("BiS") is obtainable from operations that are easier than story mode flashpoints and story mode flashpoints has been done away with (too hard for the masses), so they are now calling the "tactical flashpoints" (which means forget tactics, zerg rush everything). Only challenge left is the old NiM ops and HM Flashpoints (and people are whinging that the latter is too hard, because skills are required).
  22. Not intentionally, just a result of old age, my favourite moments might be from games people don't know (or only read/heard about). Memorable moments: Beating Demogorgon in the 'The Forbidden Forest' (one of those games where the total is greater than the sum of it's parts, just a perfectly timed build up of pace and increasingly spooky atmosphere). Finally beating Doomdark in Lords of Midnight (Mike Singleton was a bloody genious, still for me the best combination of roleplay, strategy and exploration only rivalled by 'Elite'). Speaking of which, reaching Elite status in 'Elite'. Take that you filthy Thargoids. Finally bringing the Amulet of Yendor back to the surface in Rogue. Last but not least, the warm and fuzzy feeling when my brother and I made it to level 99 in Bubble Bobble. No, we didn't beat it (didn't make it past level 100), but damn we had a blast.
  23. Gorth got laid off? Shady did. As for moving back, let's just say I missed the climate and the geckos No that answer is lacking in accurate information, Gorth please dont break your record by being laconic or nebulous with your views What do you mean by weather ? The UK only has good weather in summer...you knew that ? But why not go back to Denmark,,,,where do your friends live? In Oz I assume...so do you consider Oz your home ? You should know by now that I'm almost physically incapable of lying... not even the little white lies. Truth is indeed that i missed the pleasant climate here in the sub tropics. Denmark is even worse than the UK, being cold and miserable 11 months most years. As for "home" and friends... being an old introvert I never had a large social circle, a few good friends, several of which I've had for 2-3 decades are not deterred by a bit of geographical distance. Besides the weather, I just felt claustrophobic in Europe. Whether in Germany or the UK, it was like it didn't matter where you went, if felt like there were hordes of people everywhere and endless queues of cars, even on the smallest of country roads. I just needed to get back to a place where I can get away from people when I feel like it, open empty areas without any people nearby just an hour or two away.
