Saw it this morning. I know Himmel says "Tearful goodbyes aren't our style"... not sure that really worked I'm not particularly emotional, but dang it I felt I had moist eyes like every third episode on average. Not because it was all sad, just because it was beautiful at times

No, they aren't. Satire, social commentary and calling out people who are too accustomed to get away with things without being held accountable. It wasn't an advert, that was just the LNP (the right wing coalition) working the other way around. I.e. normal law abiding citizens would do something like this, these guys are dong something wrong, lets shut them down. Instead the LNP decided these guys must be shut down (because they didn't like their BS being called out close to election day), so what can we pull out of our sleeves to accomplish it? No matter how far fetched from it's intended purpose that law was (to limit the campaign spam from political parties the last week before election) Politically JuiceMedia is probably a moderate leftist group, but mainly going for those who consider themselves above the law. They usually refer to the LNP (the right wing coalition) as the s*** party and the Labour party (the left wing party) as the s*** lite party. No love lost for either of the two big groupings. In their past videos they recommend people vote independents of peoples own liking (unlike some countries, those can be quite powerful and numerous in Australia)

Obsidian Entertainment: My Thoughts on most of their games

Replaced the comments with my own thoughts and experiences on the various games... -
Doesn't really matter what they called it. I know, and I'm fairly sure you know too, it's about silencing political dissent. We're talking about the same party that was led by Scott Morrison and (ab)used the federal police to silent news channels that didn't agree with them Government approved version of the ad released:

Got this email from JuiceMedia.... "Just a quick message to keep you in the loop about recent developments following our latest Honest Government Ad | Visit Tasmania! - which covers the coming state election On Monday we received this takedown notice from Tasmania's Electoral Commission after it received a complaint - from somebody [thinking emoji] - claiming our latest Honest Government Ad breached s196 the Tasmanian Electoral Act by showing a photo of the Tasmanian Premier. In a satirical video. One week out from an election. Apparently you can go to jail for that in Tasmania. Cool and normal." After which followed a new email "Part 2! As you may have heard, the Tasmanian Electoral Commission claimed that our latest Honest Government Ad breached the Tasmanian Electoral Act by showing a photo of the Tasmanian Premier (a heinous crime that carries a penalty of up to 12 months imprisonment). Being the law-abiding citizen that I am, I decided to remove the video from all our pages (except YouTube, where the video is still online) I spoke with a journalist from the Guardian today expressing my feelings about that, which you can read in this article. But I wouldn’t want this to suggest that The Juice Media is intimidated by such attempts to silence political speech and #Genuine Satire in the lead up to a crucial state election. Which is why we quickly got to work and republished the video to all our pages, with a special new preface by the Tasmanian Government - which we hope will satisfy all authorities concerned. You can watch it here on YouTube, or here on Twitter or on Facebook or Insta" Yes, a lot of links got removed by me, just in case. Welcome to Australia, where the politicians are almost as venomous as the critters....

About as Danish as a compliment gets...

Luckily the police managed to crack down on the BLM and Antifa protesters that tried to sabotage the election with riots and public unrest, to ensure fair and free democratic elections! edit: I hope it's obvious I'm not serious, but still, keep in mind, just like a well known mustache wearing German, before he solidified his grip on power, he got elected.

Obsidian Entertainment: My Thoughts on most of their games

Not "wrong" per se, just not the optimal for the purpose. The general section is mostly discussing gaming companies and the gaming industry. This part is a general gaming forum for discussing specific games or genres... also, this forum usually gets frequented by other gamers unlike the general section. I.e. more likely other people see your post. -
I wonder if I was the only one thinking, whoa... Lernen sees through Frieren right away and estimates her true power to rival Series... except he completely misses that Serie's power is the fraction she can't hide completely. Makes you wonder how long Serie has been around if her suppressed power is comparable to Frieren at full strength so to speak. That is why Serie immediately wants Fern as her own apprentice, because she is good enough to see through Serie's "disguise" (never mind she keeps telling herself not to take human apprentices, standing there amidst all the flowerfields she has created herself)

I didn’t find it bad quality wise, more the coming down from the rush feeling after episode 26. Let’s be honest, the animators went bonkers there, like some season final episode Not the first episode where they cut it in the middle. Having cheated and watched the manga pages, I know who passed

Moved to games, as it looks like a discussion of games, not the company itself... -
Frieren has created some weird and sometimes outright scary subcultures on the internet. The Ubel Armpit fanboys are legion and disturbing at times Sadly, embedding not allowed for this video https://youtu.be/8KkyNQpgbhA?si=EojIN7_VsVv5ffeS

Music: Sharing and Listening - Where words fail, music speaks

I was dusting off some old CD's yesterday... yes, I have an obscene amount of those relics. Both CD's and DVD's. Hundreds of each, predating Youtube and streaming because those weren't invented back then -
So, finished watching Frieren episode 26 - The Height of Magic A bit tricky to sum up chronologically, as the overarching event is Frieren and Fern fighting Frierens replica with a lot of other simultaneous events happening. The group decides on strategy... Fern and Frieren are the only ones with a chance of surviving against Frierens replica. The rest spread out and engage the other replicas which are slowly but steadily congregating on the room outside the "boss room". We get a bit of background on Ubel, which comes across as a psychopath. Failed her previous exam because she killed the proctor. Her magic is slightly different because in this world, it's' all about logic and visualization. If you can visualize it and it makes sense, a magic user can make it happen. Ubel doesn't need for it to make sense. She just has to believe it will succeed (and being slightly unhinged, her ideas of what is possible and not is slightly off kilter). Her specialty is attacks that cuts through anything. Methode has located most of the current replicas and Denken and Methode find some of the stragglers, explaining what is going on. Mage battles are a bit like rock, paper, scissor, so they attempt to find their replicas weakest match up. Sometimes you succeed... and sometimes you don't. They also discover that the replicas come back. Their demises being temporary... Frieren starts fighting Frieren to give Fern an opening for a bit of sneaky backstabbing... But, the replica, weakness or not, is simply too strong for Ferns friendly tap on the shoulder... Plan B... if plan A doesn't work is for Fern to face Frieren head on (and not mentioned explicitly, but assumed) and stay alive for more than 5 seconds... Fern uses the A10 tankbuster gun version of magic, firing 6000 magic missiles per minute at replica Frieren Fern: Look you stupid bastard, You've got no arms left. Replica Frieren: Yes I have. Fern: Look! Replica Frieren: Just a flesh wound... ZZZAP!!! Fern succeeds in her primary objective though, she got replica Frierens undivided attention But, Fern having all of replica Frierens attention gives Frieren the opening she needs, allowing her to cast a spell which annihilates the replica in a display of blue pyrotechnics (a mage version of a tactical nuke?) Time to kill the monster behind the replicas (which also makes all the other replicas turn to dust) Aftermath: ...and now off to the third test Edit: I'm guessing Frierens reference to 80 years ago is when her party fought the demon king, being the last time she fought completely without restraint and using martial spells unknown to human mages Edit2: Somebody made a 3 minute video, covering 3 of my pictures, having edited together just the scenes with Frieren fighting her replica. I'll leave the pictures in case the video gets taken down by Youtube

You mean this guy?... the one being carried by the golem behind Edel? Someone makes a comment in passing to the effect of "who was that?" It's this guy (the one who went in first, not wanting anyone elses company, I can't remember his name from the introduction of those who passed the first test unfortunately):

Got home from the airport 2am this morning. Slept until late. Watched latest episode of ‘Frieren’ and at the local shopping Center now, buying groceries (having been away from home for close to a week). I feel tired -
Wasnt that the guy who decided to go alone and was later seen sitting and crying in a corner? I’ll need to rewatch the ending of episode 26 again edit: making screenshots for a collage and summary, that mean old girl Frieren had been keeping secrets the last 80 years. Basic offensive spells… uh huh

Since Australia is a bit backwards when it comes to the internet I wanted to try a “novelty” (for me) and join the… not the mile high club but posting forum post from 37000 feet altitude Bastard turbulence over the South Australian coast makes typing hard though, almost knocking the phone out of my hand twice while typing …. Wheeee! edit internet access becoming generally available for free on domestic flights and relieves boredom on a five hour flight -
