  1. NWN was not advertised as an online game (if you mean in the sense of MMORPG), but a Forgotten Realms based RPG with ability to easily make user-made content. The majority of players still bought game for single player. I don't see the relevance of what are you saying here. NWN multiplayer capabilities have nothing to do with graphics. Never said it sold well. What I said is that its strength was not graphics (and anyway there were other good selling Infinity games). 1. GTA2 was popular before GTA3 2. GTA3 is not pushing graphics as its primary feature (though it is up-to-date) PC being a niche market does not have anything to do with system requirements. Graphics settings in almost any PC game can be adjusted. You need the latest hardware only if you wat all bells and whistles on. Graphics and network playing performance are virtually independent of each other and there is not much processing power needed for online play.
  2. I just named the games I could recall off the top of my head. Every decent game is focused on several gameplay features, not just graphics, even Doom 3 and Half Life 2. A game "just with graphics" is a tech-demo. I played HL2, because I liked HL1, not because it has a brand new graphics engine.
  3. Right at the bottom of every page ("Lo-Fi Version"). Doesn't have avatars and fancy layout though.

  5. ^ Now, that's just begging for a flamewar. *puts on flame-resistant suit* EDIT: This topic was discussed several times, check recent threads.
  6. All PC games I can recall always rely on more than graphics. E.g. NWN, PST, GTA2 (2D!). If it was the case, PC game developers would be out of business. You underestimate game devs, they do take into account that not everyone can afford top latest cards (example would be NWN2, which upon release will run on computers with today's videocards).
  7. Yep, that's the sort of thing that can go in non-puzzle game. The example is riddles in dialogues - you still think, but it doesn't take a bloody week to decipher it.
  8. Well, you don't have to play "most games" to begin with. All games offer different form of entertainment, and there is always a good quality game in each genre. Anyway, I gave just examples of what I *could* look for in a game. Surely I will not expect deep characters in Unreal Tournament, but I'd pick that game if I want to play CTF with friends.
  9. It is a legalized spam thread.
  10. I really can't see the problem with "thinking" in games. If I want to think I play chess or a puzle game, or find something better to do instead playing games. But if I play a non-puzzle computer game - no thank you, I am looking for things like immersion and emotional impact. The last thing I want is to get stuck on a time-consuming puzzle, while playing, say, an RPG.
  11. Because he uses fancy backquotes (`) instead of apostrophes (') in his posts.
  12. But I can't understand why you get tired of this color mix? Looking at other forums, I can say this scheme is the most pleasant to my eyes. BTW, there is a lite black on white option.
  13. Cat carrier just HAS to go in kirottu's avatar.
  14. This problem exists not only in PnP games, but with games and movies in general. Translations of terms specific to some game/movie universe can sound incredibly awkard because the way of thinking in original language is different. This is especially the case with low quality "unofficial" pirate translations (people who do that must be impaled ).
  15. It is not for reading.
  16. I have to choose between deleting all Star Wars and KotOR avatars and closing this thread.
  17. Until I see a nerd forum girl offline, I'm refusing to believe there are any.
  18. ... ..... Sooooo?
  19. There is a little thing called economics. As companies otsource and pay to Indian workers it leads to lowering wages for local population and increasing wages for India. What happens next? Local people now have less money to spend and profit of the local companies goes down. The result of outsourcing is not "poverty and breakdown" but a shift of economic equillibrium. Also, outsoucing has its price of highly increased cost of administration and contract management. Hence outsourcing is a significant part of some industries but not a panacea.
  20. I wonder how is the "flawed" poll gone? <_< On topic, the answer is no.
