Yep. This means no Vampire, no Tyranny, no Alpha Protocol, no KotOR, and no Fallout (though to be fair, the odds of Obs working on an IP that isn't original or Paradox-owned weren't great before). More good IP to gather dust, yay. I understand how this is a huge weight off The Owners'® shoulders and all, but from my perspective as a consumer, it's hard to construe this as good news. I'm not touching the Windows Store with a ten-foot pole, either.

That is quite a racist attitude you have there I must say. The implication is that he does not want to live around people with whom he shares no interests or values and who also happen to be white, but don't let that stop you from clutching your pearls. I don't know. Didn't this guy post a huge racist rant about how white women didn't want to date Asian men in the US or some such? I may be misremembering but the font size and fringe opinions kinda stand out. Your wife **** whipped you into moving to a neighborhood you hate... looks like an object lesson illustrating the old adage "careful what you wish for".

Having gone in the past through a corp acquisition that saw my job being cut (read: outsourced), I honestly wish you folks all the best. Do you guys not have consoles?

On this episode of how to burn off all of your goodwill with fans in two weeks... As with any Wall Street-owned company, it's purely a numbers game to them. What's the Diablo fanbase, millions? Tens of millions? And only a relatively small subset of that is angry at this news. The mobile market is in the hundreds of millions at the very least. Immortal is a product explicitly aimed at minors who may or may not abuse mommy's credit card, and the Chinese market. The CCP could make it hard for ActiBlizz to get a foot in the door, but I don't think it will happen. This will most likely be the latest in a long line of money-printing machines, longstanding fanbase or not, and investors are counting on it. And of course, expect any lingering hard feelings to be smoothed over as soon as they announce a proper PC project. Past a certain point, goodwill is overrated, I think.

In the Enhanced Editions they fixed Dispel/Remove Magic to work as advertised. So instead of *never* working against targets which are higher level than you, it's effective 5% of the time against Irenicus who is level 30. Guess you rolled a 20 on that. The Pierce Shield thing is really weird. Normally, it's a somewhat pointless spell, because it's only marginally better than Ruby Ray, but Spellstrike is in a whole other league. If you have no mods running that could affect it, perhaps Beamdog have changed the spell to make it worthy of a 8th level slot. After looking through the files, NPC Fire Shield is classed as a specific protection rather than combat protection. Still, Pierce Shield shouldn't affect those. The thing is, what you're describing is closer to the behavior from Spell Revisions than vanilla: Yeah, she's no Sarevok, but she's more durable than pure fighter types by virtue of her heals and Iron Skins, Barkskin etc. and way more versatile. Same with Anomen, whom I actually prefer, because he can wield Crom Faeyr, Flail of the Ages and the Mace of Disruption. His DEX is a liability until you can find the proper gloves, however.
-
Pierce Shield shouldn't be doing that. Fire Shield is a combat protection, while (default) Pierce Shield only removes spell protections and Magic Resistance. Mods? Jaheira is indeed a good frontliner, provided that you can find a decent weapon to give her, which is not trivial.

Is that Siri transcribing actual laughter as "LOL" or did Volourn hijack GD's account?

For real? Never heard that one. Still I can see abandoning historical symbols because they have been appropriated by folks I'd rather not be associated with That one wasn't appropriated, though. It always symbolized what it symbolizes today. Obligatory:

I also thought WH40k was dumb. Hell, it is dumb. Especially the fake latin grated on me. But I think it started to grow on me after spending a few afternoons reading 1d4chan. "It is the scale and depth. Anything can happen, and it does, all day, every day, at 250% maximum awesome. It is the over-the-top-80's, super-gritty-90's, and depth-demanding-2K's all blended together into one multimedia story. It harkens to the classic tales of the Gothic Age, the epic fables of Northern Europe, the darkness and detached sentimentalism of WW1, the corrupt tales of the urban underworld, the mind-warping fantasies of Lovecraft, and all while maintaining a sense of dark humor and romantic heroism." "Don't forget the Gregorian choir of enraged neckbeards that accompany it." Gotta love this trend of game companies sniping at each other over PR fails.

This was brought up last time as well. Since then, it doesn't look like any of it has affected his ability to find work. And, if he's to be believed, he's loaded too, so even if he were to become the industry's bête noire, it's no big deal. I'm sure he appreciates your concern, though. Personally, I think it's pretty cool how he manages to ruffle the feathers of so many unrelated people by running his mouth in the armpit of the internet.

MGS V (both parts) and Cities Skylines in Humble Monthly for $12. I'm thinking of getting this. How's MGS V?

Aren't like 96% or so of convictions the result of plea bargains in the US? It's not hard to imagine that Hillary ****ing Clinton is one of the the last people in the world you can intimidate with lawyer tactics, so she may not be as amenable to the notion of admitting guilt. Whereas for someone less (TRIGGER WARNING) privileged, the prospect of a long legal battle of uncertain outcome may be enough to agree to a deal with a reasonable, albeit not overwhelming, amount of evidence that may not necessarily guarantee a conviction in a jury trial.

And the obligatory dangerhair in the comments womansplaining why ackchually it is toxic masculinity. Before reading the first replies, I genuinely thought that was a "joke" post from some alt-right bozo. Man, why are so many people out to make a complete parody of themselves in CURRENTYEAR? Edit: Diablo 2 producer chiming in: "Blizzard doesn't understand gamers anymore" So what you're saying is that, contrary to what the Kotaku piece says, (speculation is that) Immortal is effectively Diablo 4? Heh, I don't think that'd go down well at all if true. Not even ready to officially announce that they are making the game? That doesn't look good. Maybe some day we'll find out exactly how much of a **** show the Diablo 3 sequel development process has been. Personally I haven't played Diablo since LoD, and the billion clones that have popped up have left me a bit desensitized to the genre at large, so I can wait a decade or two for a proper sequel.

Ah, the early 00s were "fun" times for metal fans. In Flames' Reroute to Remain, Metallica's St. Anger and Theatre of Tragedy's [ˈmjuːzɪk] marked the end of the era where I could go out and grab a new album of a band I liked without reading reviews or listening to samples. There are other examples of course but those weren't as extreme or at least not as jarring. Disclaimer: I only know Whoracle and Colony from In Flames. I didn't know their "new" stuff was bad, because for the most part I only listen to music based on recommendations from acquaintances, so I don't really keep up with what bands do. So, keep recommending...

That made me laugh (in humor, not at you) so I tried to Google it up, to no success. Link? Nah, not an actual Trump quote, as far as I know. It's a zinger from some late night show that made me laugh as well. Sorry for the confusion. edit: yes! I am literally a nazi, as well as literally a militant SJW type. Now it all makes perfect sense... in bizarro land. edit 2: found it. By the way, we actually have some experience with putting up physical obstacles along the border to curb illegal immigration, on a much smaller and more manageable scale. Long story short, it doesn't work unless you are willing to use deadly force as a matter of course. It generally results in both immigrants and enforcers getting injured, for little gain.

Yes, because the billions the US sends to Mexico to enforce the military crackdown as part of the War on Drugs just... disappear once they cross the border. Mexico also exists in a total vacuum, and the cartels running illegal operations on US soil have absolutely nothing to do with the cartels that killed 30k in Mexico last year. Totally disconnected events... much like your brain cells. As for me being racist, I am not the one suggesting that they don't fix their countries because they are incapable of such (because the other possibility is that they don't want to and evidently they'd just rather walk a few thousand miles instead in hopes of a slightly less bleak future). The term itself is not racist, and being hispanic myself (from Spain, though you may be more familiar with the term "Europe's Mexico" as popularized by Trump), the idea that you have "more respect" for hispanics than I do has the rare merit of topping the list of stupid things you've ever written here. By "treating them like grown ups" you mean send them back to Honduras where perhaps they'll be executed by US-backed death squads, because you'd rather not have them living next door. But no, you're not racist at all, you just want them to die as adults. Even if minors are prominent victims of the violence they are fleeing, they can die as adults for all that you care. But yeah, you're probably not a racist. Just a general waste of skin and an oxygen thief. And this, boys and girls, is why you never step into bizarro land.

It largely is, in fact. Mexico's violence problem stems from the "War on Drugs". That's not just a monumental failure and waste of lives and resources for the US internally, but a total cluster**** for much of Central and South America. I guess that, in your mind, those places have always been ****holes, because... that's what they are, right? Or maybe all browns south of great Tecksus are just lazy and stupid and can't fix their countries so good.
-
Yeah. Pity that, more often than not, whenever they've tried that, America's seen it fit to bring about a bit of regime change to preserve "freedom and democracy". It's pretty funny to see you folks piss against the wind and then be all like "damn wind!". You want to stop this ****? A good place to start is realizing that your political establishment caused the problem in the first place.

Sure, once they fix his eyebrows, give him a bunch of scars and make him wear contacts, he may remind somebody of Geralt. Nah, can't do it. Still too handsome. Well, all this stuff like beard and scars and co. can happen while the show runs? It's not like Geralt was born and looked like in Witcher 3. Fair enough. I'm still not sure what's the point of having a make-up test if... you're not actually testing the make-up, beyond a wig. IIRC Geralt hates beards so I'm ok with that.

I kept checking the thread on r/battletechmods a few months ago. They went for ultra-hardcore gameplay and were happy to break lore if they thought gameplay may benefit. Not my cup of tea. They did add a ton of stuff, but from what I understand, beyond the pure roguelike core element, most of it is third party mods, which are available standalone. I'm not sure if they have the ability to add new mission structures, but considering that one of Flashpoint's selling points is a new mission type (not just biome), I'm leaning towards no. As for DLC, there's Flashpoint (which is underwhelming in scope to me), and there's also the second "Urban Warfare" expansion planned, and an unannounced third pack. I don't know, I'm not very happy with how they are going about this. It's not just the lame Season Pass thing, it's that they still haven't added all the stuff from the Kickstarter.

Every time I think you cannot be dumber you prove me wrong That's funny. It's exactly what I thought when I saw that you are literally incapable of checking a source included in the article before claiming "fake news". Try pulling your tongue out of the tangerine-in-chief's anus for a second, you may even start seeing what's in front of you.
