I would hazard a guess this is some weird interaction with the "If undefeated, end your turn" power. Basically, this power means you can't play any cards and powers, and you can only reset your hand - so maybe this is blocking your items? Of course, the Defeated/Undefeated status *should* be determined after you take/prevent damage and/or make your recharge checks...

Yes, it is not. In the board game, they are "displayed next to your character deck" - i.e. in a sort-of out-of -play area, where they can't be used and can't be affected by anything, except when you decide to use them for their own power. You may look at them as kind of virtual 'spell effects', that for all intents and purposes are NOT Spell cards (or any sort of cards for that matter)

Suggestion: Restart Button
Longshot11 replied to Paabo's question in Pathfinder Adventures: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Yeah, I suppose that's also true. It just seems like the game should encourage the player to attempt scenarios even if the modifiers aren't completely ideal. I'm inclined to agree ... except the current setup does jack to 'encourage', it just annoys the s*it out of me. If devs really aim for "enouragement' - how about the harder Wild cards give some Gold modifier? -
Quick question re: Kyra

Same bug exists for Ezren's Arcane Collector - he applies the +4 Bonus to his recharge checks as well. -
When you lose to a monster in the Woods, it's supposed to be (and properly *is*) banished, instead of shuffling back into the location deck. However, the location-shuffling animation plays when you fail in the Woods. I have not observed if the location is *really* shuffled, or if it's just a visual bug.

The rest of your analysis aside, the Obsidian app is a direct conversion of the Patfinder Adventure Card Game, made by Lone Shark games and licensed by Paizo. As such, Obsidian may be the wrong target here, and you might want to post it over at the Paizo forums. I can see where you're coming from. When I first sat down to play with a 6-characters party, I was intimidated by the whole "80 cards in 30 turns" proposition ... but the fact that I never looked back and I have barely touched another board game in the last 3 years should be speaking volumes. I have over 200 games between the 3 iterations of the board game and the app, the vast majority of them - with 6 characters, and the times when I lost due to unlucky Henchman/Villain placement can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Yes, it is a possibility, but it is highly unlikely. Furthermore, I would point out that when comparing 6-char party VS , say, 2-char party, I have always felt more well-equipped for any given task at hand when I play with more characters. Yes, it calls for completely different strategy than when playing with a fewer members, but the number of strategic opportunities and decisions you make as a player increases exponentially - and it does feel overwhelmingly rewarding, to the point I've come to regard the 6-play as the one "true" way to experience PACG. I'm not saying 6-char is to everyone's tastes but it IS a completely different experience, and calling for different approach; you may have experienced it in the app already, but the number of players will even highly influence the value you assign to some cards. On 3. I completely agree about the arbitrary marriage of linked locations and Wildcards, and I mostly don't even bother with Heroic and Legendary, and I'll continue to do so, until someone has the idea that players should be able to chose their own Wildcards (and On/Off Limited Movement) and then *they should be rewarded based on the chosen combination*. Even now, you can 'game' the system by restarting scenarios until you get the 'right' combo of Wildcards, and the devs seems to bet on inconvenience as the only deterrent that they won't do it - which always strikes me as an unfortunate design decision. It kinda feels insulting. If I can 'reroll' the Wildcards unlimited times - just give me the opportunity to chose them already; I don't care about the gold, I just want to check off the Legendary difficulty, for Lamashtu's sake! And yeah, I want Linked Locations, without the arbitrary "+ 4 to all check difficulty", thank you very much.

Unless you want her to get Melee weapons for other party members. Meri doesn't really need Strength. If you play her solo, there are two locations it's needed: Guardtower (Str 5 to close) and Fort Rannik (Str 10 to close). A single blessing is likely to get you through the first one, and for the Fort - a specialized blessing (Torag or Cayden Caylean) or even better - a trusty Crowbar. (Alternatively, you may find it easier to just chase the Villain into the Fort). Also, Meri's already decent d8 Str means she can use Longbows on par with any other weapon (she's rolling a d12+d8 before any skill or weapon +X modifiers)

New Treasure Chests Cards In The Next Update!
Longshot11 commented on Aarik D's blog entry in Pathfinder Adventures Dev Blogs
Hey, why is the Sphere getting the short end of the stick? Only d6 for poor Intelligence checks? (while also having the the highest AD#...) -
I closed the Deeper Dungeons. However, when the 'banish' animation was done - there was still 1 card in the location deck! I 'examined' the card on the next turn, with Shalelu Andosana: in the 'examine' tray there we NO visible cards! However, while tapping on it , I suddenly got the "Encounter" button (part of Shalelu's power), so I tapped it: I encountered the Ambush barrier. When I failed the Ambush, it 'searched' the now empty location deck, then it properly banished itself.

Ezren encountered Mokmuriant at Thatssilonian library, and used Temple's power to evade and escape there. After Ezren discarded 2 cards to pay for the effect, the game refilled his hand and ended his turn, then switched to Sajan, who's at Shrine to Lamashtu. Sajan was not able to explore (the location deck was not highlit, as when he has an explore available), and in fact I was not able to play any cards with any characters. The "turn steps" row of buttons was also inactive. The only way out was to forfeit the game.

I noticed this last night when I got the Improved Spell Collector (+4 to acquire spell); I didn't really observe if the base Spell Collector has the same bug, but I just couldn't miss the fact that I suddenly have +11 points spell recharges before I even roll. (Also, I roll with my normal +7 on Arcane item recharges, so at least the bug targets spells in particular, not all recharges)
