  1. I was kinda hoping they changed the design, as the want for proficiency on this weapon sucks. First, it's a spear (and no other Spear requires proficiency) , and second, its the only halfway decent Melee weapon that weaker caster character can guaranteed get their hands on for support. It's basically perfect back up for a solo Ezren, and I had the feeling they slapped this arbitrary requirement just to spite the poor mage This bug is actually the result of a change in text - while the card in the physical game states the difficulty increase (and was originally implemented to match this), it was later modified per Paizo to make it more in line with other spears and not require proficiency. Text is correct; functionality is not! However, this is also already fixed internally. So, since there was no FAQ on the Impaler over at Paizo, I brought the matter there. However, it would seem that there's some miscomunication along the line, as Vic Wertz denied the lack of proficiency being desired: http://paizo.com/threads/rzs2syxi?Does-Impaler-of-Thorns-really-require I really hope he's in the wrong in this particular instance, but can we get a disclosure what is the 'correct' state of the card ultimately?
  2. Tested with Ezren casting the spell on Sajan's unarmed combat. The spell distinctly states it reacquires to be played on a combat check with a weapon (also, it's in its name)

  3. Thanks for the input, guys. I keep a separate list with all the bugs reported on the forum, but I try to include in The List only the ones that I have been able to confirm myself, or that are being reported by multiple users. If that bug with Harsk is real though - that's some major suckage right there. Effectively, by getting your Role power, you just gimped your character...
  4. - Merisiel lacks a combat sub-skill bonus (melee or ranged) , so yeah - it's Dex all the way for her. The last points I drop into Wisdom (which seems to come up quite often), or Charisma, for easier ally acquisition. - Kyra: it all depends how you play her. I hate being dependent on having a spell for combat, so I usually go Strength first, and bash things with my hands if I have to. Her Wisdom/Divine is awesome even without the upgrades. Alternatively, I'd dip 2 points into Wis to secure better spell recharges, then go 2 Strength, then go bck to Wis for another 2 points - Seoni... well, yeah. Considering the small number of spells she gets, and that you'll probably often have to rely on her Arcane Blast - Charisma all the way. It also gurantees you free explores when you encounter Diplomacy allies (she's naturally good at this, but I seem to get disproportionally high amounts of 1 and 2 on her d12). Then maybe some Dex to boost her naturally good die. On the whole, RotR is pretty combat-heavy, so you can't really afford to let your characters fall behind in terms of damage output. Again thoiugh, it all comes down to play style - you may love to discard cards for Meri's Backstab, so you fare fine with her combat, and then heal her back with Kyra. I personally dislike healing, and with 6-man party I can rarely afford to spend the time/allocation to do it.
  5. You might wanna stock up on some Crowbars. Give one to Meri and even closing Fort Rannik is a breeze.
  6. Yup, I have close to 60 chests open and my single Legendary is.... Amulet of Inescapable Location
  7. Some of the bugs weirdly seem to be Here Comes the Flood (HCtF) -specific, and are marked so. Updated with: Adventure 3 scenarios are out of order in the Gallery when characters have insufficient cards on Deck Rebuild, they're only offer Basics to replenish (in AD3 should show all cards AD1 or lower) HctF: Turtleback Ferry power doesn't let you move HCtF: Black screen lock-up on closing General Store HCtF: most of the time, locations don't offer Close Location when player encounters the last card in the location (it is offered normally on subsequent turns) Locksmith Leather, Gale Armor and Superior Leather Armor's text requires 'heavy armor proficiency' to be buried (not known if the actual power is also bugged) Merchant discards for no effect with single character at location, when 'Give' power is selected Characters with 'start of turn' powers can use them twice at locations with 'start of turn' power (possibly also relevant for 'end of turn' cases) Ezren's Evoker role preview in the Store doesn't list the Hand Size 9 upgrade Quest mode power “All monsters gain the Undead trait” doesn't give the Undead trait (tested for Deathbane Crossbow) Glassworks power (possibly other powers that discard from the top of your deck) doesn't kill the character if he has 0 cards in his deck Cape of Escape's first power (move only, during your turn) doesn't work Flask of Ice states it gives 2d6 instead of 3d6 Flask of Force Missile states a recharge check Arcane 13 – should be Arcane 14 In Characer Select screen, 'Powers' tab, the original Hand Size of characters and the power feats spent on it doesn't show - it only shows the last checked Hand Size (and any upgrades beyond it) If Lem choses Favorite type: Loot, he can then start without Loot card, even if he had one in his deck (tested with Medusa Mask and Sihedron Medallion) Amiri's Move Another doesn't work (it worked correctly before patch 1.0.3) Epic and Legendary card glows are switched Quest Mode: wild card that shuffles back henchmen if location is not closed, instead shuffles them in another location before the close attempt is made Flask of Force prompts Recharge/Bury instead of Discard / Bury Orb of Firestorm prompts Recharge / Discard instead of Recharge / Bury
  8. I believe Faranim nailed it. I'd recommend if someone is still stuck on HCtF - try to manipulate the game, so it is your character who encounters the last location deck card in the game, as opposed to letting Black Magga eat it.
  9. So, what's the actual behavior of these cards? I.e. is the button text wrong, or is it the card text?
  10. It makes some sense in order to move away freely from Treacherous Cave / Dam; to get bonus items in the General Store; to banish undesirable cards in Store / Ferry; and generally, to protect the character from horde barriers.
  11. Definitely, it gives you a great value for your money, 4 awesome characters, and arguably the best ranged weapon in the game. Of course, that means you'll have to wait longer for new content, so you might instead just get the adventures first, so you don't get bored grinding the same 3 free scenarios.
  12. I haven't reached that point, but have you tried simply selecting a power feat from a role - this should be indication enough for the game which role you're selecting?
  13. Yeah, I just got my account reset like that. I'm out of words....Could you check to see if you at least kept your Treasure cards, because all of my Treasures in the gallery have also gone missing. Now I'd just checked my account and likewise, my account is blank slate. I hope this is not a global reset of all playfab accounts Even if they can't restore the exact Treasures - I guess they can always compensate us with free Treasure Chests. I'm really worried what this'll mean for my heroes that have Treasure cards in their decks (basically, all of them). If this reset has broken them in some way, I think I'll be just about done with this app...
  14. Has no one had the Magga go to a closed location? Because the way the scenario power is worded, closed locations should be a valid pick for the Magga power (it's "random location", not "random open location") I can confirm that Black Magga is a Lovecraftian horror who has no time for the laughable human(oid) notion of "closed locations". Even if you close a location, she can still randomly go there (and fail) to eat. Nice to know *something* works as intended, but considering that -apparently, by the accounts in all the HCtF threads- closing a location during this scenario prevents you from advancing - not very helpful in the greater scheme of things...
  15. Yeah, I just got my account reset like that. I'm out of words.... Could you check to see if you at least kept your Treasure cards, because all of my Treasures in the gallery have also gone missing.
  16. I get this for 6 hours and counting now - whenever I try to purchase a Chest in the Store, I get a message to the tune of "your purchase didn't go through'. I'm interested in seeing if anyone else has experienced it, or is it maybe account-specific issue.
  17. It made me audibly go 'Awww...' and wanna pet the poor disgusting otherworldly serpent-squid hellspawn... So, yeah, a win in my book.
  18. I'd go with Amiri over Val as tank any day of the week, but she is part of the Character Add-on Deck.
  19. Has no one had the Magga go to a closed location? Because the way the scenario power is worded, closed locations should be a valid pick for the Magga power (it's "random location", not "random open location")
  20. In as much as Gold is readily obtainable through re-playing Legendary scenarios, I doubt this would strictly classify as 'theft'. Otherwise, the same can be argued for players who paid real money for Gold that they were defrauded of their money by not revealing that not all Treasure cards (bought with Gold, which in turn is -possibly- bought with real money) are available as drops. At any rate, I doubt Obsidian will be interested in a legal debate and they'll probably just roll back the offenders' accounts. I just hope they first bother to fix their paying customers' game before they go chasing after some virtual 'thieves' (which, at best, are a 'missed opportunity', rather than a real damage to Obsidian's assets; meanwhile I'm stuck with $25 purchase that's not being suitable for use)
  21. Hah, good luck. Considering the HCtF is too stubborn to even register your victory, I wouldn't worry about much use being made of this 'exploit'. (I'm currently stuck on 'Normal' even though I beat the scenario - and I also didn't get any gold for it). Also, considering they botched the Daily Gold with the update, this can be some recourse for people who paid real money for nothing. Personally, I'm too disheartened by all the bugs to bother cheating my way into the Gold I'm owed, so I guess I'll just wait for the long weekend to end (I gather there's some holiday in the US now?) and get properly recompensed.
  22. Valeros and Lem - they won't compete much with Kyra and Merisiel for Divine spells/ Ranged weapons respectively - they have 'another character at your location' powers synergy with each other - Valeros is reliable tank and boss-killer (both Kyra and Meri suffer from not being guaranteed weapons at start) - Lem covers your Charisma needs and can have support spells (Strength, Agility) on demand in his discard pile, not to mention Cure You may consider substituting Lem for Ezren in a party of 4, but in duo with Val - you'll probably feel his lack of blessings, and the lack of healer
  23. Hah, and I just came to the forum to post this very bug. I can confirm that Move Another worked as intended pre-patch 1.0.3 . Now, when you get to the map, and select your own location, you enter the location and your Move power button is again active, instead of you being offered a dialogue to select other characters. It's sad when a patch turns out to not only be fixing some things, but also breaking others.
  24. Yeah, I would say fixing this should be one of the top priorities for the next update. It majorly sucks.
  25. This sounds like the Collapsed Ceiling scenario - have you tried dragging and releasing the Boa in the right part of the Screen? I didn't see this suggestion in time to try it. I'll try it next time. I did hit the same problem with Seoni at the Academy, after Harks deliberately lost to a boa to see if it would happen again (last card in the deck). Keep in mind, if Feywood's observations are true - you'll need to fail the Boa, and then encounter it immediately with the same character. Otherwise, it will again lock-up (just like the Collapsed Ceiling) if that's you first exploration for the turn.
