Well, I think it's a smart move to hold off the marketing campaign until after the gaming sites are slowing down with Mass Effect news. If OE went aggresive before now, they would just drown in the news feeds everywhere.

Oh dude. Reaching Twin Elms and not finishing is just sad man. So close! If I were you I'd give it another shot. The game with WM and all patches is really improved, and a really good experience. Go finish man, it's totally worth it! If nothing else so you can export your Watcher to Deadfire.

Well, the thing is that some stuff, you wouldn't understand starting a fresh game. An example of that is that in ME 2 you meet Fist at Omega, if you didn't kill him in the first game. But if you didn't play the first game, that encounter would make zero sense to you. It's that kind of nods to your PoE run I'd like to see. New players won't miss them, and would only be confused in any case.

As I see it is all about preference. People argue that you shouldn't be able to change your gender/race cuz it's weird. But you can just start a new PoE 2 char and set PoE 1 events as you want it. So it makes little difference. I think most people can start out PoE 2 as they want it in some way. I really won't mind if you can change your gender/race, but I won't be doing it. Personally I hope there will be small nods to your run in PoE, if you import your char, that is not present in the "world state" options, where the big stuff is covered. It's very gratifying. That was one of my favorite things about the Mass Effect games. I think those games handled it very well.

I really do not want my name in game. It's fine that there is a mention for backers in the credits, but in game I'd really rather not run across myself. That would break it for me. I'm talking from experience, since "Thaos" clearly was based on my name and that was enough.

And that is okay. And that is why I'm in favor of his idea and why I support it. Because it's fun. And we should do it because it's fun. But not because we try to appeal to people who would not donate on this otherwise anyway. So now let's start an even more trickier discussion: What should be the minimum amount of donation for being mentioned in the game? $10? $20? $30?

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I really miss the pompous attitude of nobles, and the utter patheticness of beggars in the IE games. In PoE the nobles in Brackenbury acts very polite against the watcher and his bunch of misfits. They either greet you or informs you about the state of the local situation. Even the refugees are very informative in most cases. I miss the funny interactions with noble couples in BG 2, and the utter disgust the nobles in BG 1 shows towards you. And I feel like Defiancy Bay lacks abit in that aspect. I like the hookers, and drunken sailors tho. Dunno, maybe it's just nostalgia. What do you guys think? Would Deadfire gain from some more tweaking?

Don't listen.Really, you're missing out on an extraordinary milestone because of some distorted hearsay. Nah, the entire Witcher series (games and books) are trash tier terrible. Geralt can't walk 5 feet without falling into a plot hole. Stay very far away. Have you played TW 3? Because that is not trash tier. It's likely the best game ever made... I didn't dig TW 1 and 2 that much, they are okay. I haven't read the books. But TW 3 is a goddamn masterpiece.

You don't like Wrex, or even.... Garrus??!?!!??!? You monster!!! No seriously, Garrus was one of the best things about Mass Effect I don't know how you got through that series without liking the guy. Mass effect had so many great people imo. Garrus, Thane, Wrex, Grunt, Mordin, Legion etc etc.. Man you can go on about the great characters in that series. The squad members was what made the games.

I don't think that's what OE is going for. They're going for interesting complex characters. Not hot damsels with a ladyboner for the pc. I heard Bioware has a new game coming out, that will probably tickle your fancy.

I didn't read the whole Ydwin stretch goal, as if there would be a replacement sidekick. My understanding is that she will just be fully fleshed out, and then nothing else. I might be wrong thou. Don't get me wrong, i'd love another sidekick, but if the goal is unlocked, we already got 8 companions and 3 sidekicks. I'd rather see OE using time on making those 11 guys as good and integrated into the game as possible.
