Force Crush and Crush Opposition.
Objulen replied to sm1986's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Crush the Opposition is the Sith Lord class force power. Force Crush is a plot driven force power that all Sith PrCs get at a point in the game that I'll leave to you to find. You can't miss it. -
KOTOR2 Ending Mod: Help Requested
Objulen replied to Aurora's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm not skilled at programing or computer art, but I have solid English background (which probably isn't apparent from my posts, but, o well), and I would be perfectly willing to contribute in any way I can. -
Life's little ironies. :D

That's because women in those societies were not allowed to serve in the military. Banning a group from doing something and then saying that the group is not good at doing it is irrational, like most generalities applied to groups based on supposed inherent physiological characteristics. I found it odd when I chose Revan as a women because, after playing KOTOR unto the nth time, there was this little voice in the back of my head saying, "I'm not a woman."

And thus did Lord God sayth unto the people Israel, "Though shalt not make Jedi Gungans, for it is an abomination unto me. And any who are found to have made such an evil shall be put to death."

Obsidian made a great game, they just didn't get the chance to actually make that game. Assuming that Obsidian would have greater control over the production process and make the game they origionally designed, they would make a great KOTOR III.

This looks good. I'll test it when I get back to my PC. Personally, I never found the difficulty that much of a problem; I've always found the point of an RPG to be the story, but to each her/his own. That being said, it didn't make sense that the combat types weren't really much better at combat than non-combat classes.

Should I buy it or wait for the patch?

What's the most damage you've done?
Objulen replied to StormSpirit's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I did close to 500 damage with Crush using the 30% damage boost at 20% FP cost form. It was useful for taking out those lizard creatures at the end of the game, and it killed some of them in one hit. -
No, it's 8-9 over a certain number of story archs. When there are actually 4000 years worth of stories, then you can say that.

I hope this is a joke, but that makes no sense what so ever. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, it does. Lucasarts would probably never let them add it, but since the files are almost all there, modders could probably tweak around and find a way to add them to the game. That way, the game they wanted to make would be available. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I'm afraid the modders can't add it, since there's no tool to change the animations. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Actually, upon reconsideration, it is possible it was left by Obisidian for players to discover to create exactly this sort of reaction, probably due to LA one way or another.

My Sith Lord/Councilor never had any problems with very high Wisdom/Charisma, but Visas didn't have too many problems either. There were a few resists with her, and her damage with Force Lighting Storm was noticably lower; while not as effective as my Sith Lord, her force powers were quite useful.

Hit it right on the nail. Bugs and large amounts of ending content that got cut is something to complain about. Incorrect gramar is something you just point out so it can get put in the next bug fix. Going on a rant about something so insignificant is pointless.

Can one play DS without being a jerk or thug?
Objulen replied to Lidda-Bit's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's more difficult to avoid being anything but a thugish DS'er, but it's easier in this game than KOTOR, at least IMO, given that many times you can make decisions that would be considered LS with either no moral change or a DS change depending on the rational. However, it would be nice to play more of a Palpatine-esk manipulative SOB, especially with a Jedi Councilor/Sith Lord, or at least a less gratutious DSer. Evil doesn't mean stupid or crude, after all, but this isn't generally reflected well in alot of material, especially video games. Part of the problem, I would say, is the treatment of the DS in the SW universe. It recieves the label of generic evil, without much development, almost like a cookie-cutter villian. Sure, some of it was covered in KOTOR 1 on Korriban, but for the most part, the Sith were the eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeevil guys who killed people and broke things. Alot of this is different in KOTOR 2, especially with the discussions of Revan as a subtle evil, instead of the brute Malak is portraid as, but even that's revoked to a point at the end of the game. -
I hope this is a joke, but that makes no sense what so ever. [EDIT] Open mouth, insert foot: upon reconsideration, it is quite plausible that if Lucas Arts forced Obsidian, directly or indirectly, to cut these scenes, that they could have been left as Obsidian's collective thumb biting.

Unfortunatly, story-based gaming has gone down hill since past years. Look at what happened to adventure games, which depended so much on story and atmosphere to make a good game. That has shifted to RPGs to a degree (PS:T would have made an excellent adventure game), but it still hasn't really made up for the slack. Just look at NWN -- it took three "games" to get one with a descent story, which didn't even really pick up until the second chapter. It's truely a pity. Kill 'em all games have their place, and RTSs are wonderful, but the most endearing quality of any game, IMO, is the story, and that hasn't been present as of late.

Good work.

I didn't. I just listened to the sound files in the directory listed above with Miles Sound Tools. There's also dialog for an end-game conflict between HK and G0-T0 in there. There's other dialog you probably do have to extract to get your hands on, but I don't know how to do that.

Would you be willing to give us the LS combo? Because I'm of the opinion that Revan told Canderous to rebuild clan Ordo and the Mandalorians to help he and the Republic defeat the True Sith when the real war begins. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I would if there was anything significant, but there isn't really. LS Revan doesn't leave Mandalore dying at the rim (he/she just leaves him), and he/she doesn't laugh at him. The basic content is the same.

Hardly, the game would obviously have new npcs, that much is a no-brainer. And like K2 who appears in the game can be fashioned on how the previous games went. Naturally you could just choose who you want in your party, the others left over whether new or old well you can take them in ohter games, adds a lot of replay value if you don't get to see every npc with you in one journey. In any case, as far Revan's old companions go, just give me Bastila and Jolee and I'm satisfied. Carth can stay as an important non-party npc Admiral like in K2 or he can rejoin the group, however the popular vote goes on that. Any others that interest me from K1 are already party members in K2 so just Bastila and Jolee is fine as far as the old crew. I don't think it would be difficult at all, it would just take a very, very long time to develop a game with so many variations. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Every KOTOR game has a set limit on the number of NPC allies you get. KOTOR II gave you a choice between two and changes two automatically, depending on certain factors that can be looked up in spoilers. What you suggest would take this and develop it much more. KOTOR II lacked ally-based side quests, which was disappointing, but it helped the entire choice in NPCs work with less work. I personally would have prefered ally side-quests, but I'm not going to get into that here. Now, with DS Revan, you kill the Zalabar, Mission, the Cathar whose name I can't remember, Joliee, and possibly Carth (when I played, he ran away, dismayed at my treason). Assuming even half of them are included, that's a total of 2-3 NPCs who change based on back story, with assoicated dialog, comments, and missions, not to mention any taken from KOTOR 2, That's another 3 NPCs, for a total of 3-5 NPCs just from previous games. That's about a third to around a half of the 10 NPCs given in KOTOR and KOTOR 2. It would require alot of work that, IMO, would improve the game, giving it a myriad of replay options depending on choices with Revan and the Exile. But can it be expected? I don't think so.

I would say it would be all of them. TSL wove a layer of subtlety to the wars in KOTOR by adding the war of beliefs, the true war that was carryed by the physical war, and it seems to me that this is how it would be presented in KOTOR 3, if that game is produced.

You can change out Flurry for Power Attack, getting more damage in four attacks than five normal attacks. Either way, properly working Wookie rage makes Hanharr a much better character. As for Cleave, those extra attacks are automatic and independant of your normal attacks.

Training in the Ways of the Jedi
Objulen replied to Wild Storm's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I trained Handmaiden after defeating her three times. I haven't gotten Mira, so I don't know. It's possible it's a bug, but you might not have enough influence with them yet. -
Then you are obviously listening to the wrong bands Check out something by Opeth, Agalloch, Novembre, Edge of Sanity (especially the forty minute song, Crimson), or Arsis to see some well done. Like all genres of music, death metal has a ton of crappy artist and some very, very good ones. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I don't think I've heard those bands. My first introduction was Cannibal Corpse, and everything when downhill from there. For the most part, however, you second statement holds true, though recent R&B holds no value and certain genres, like pop, will forever be crap.

It's possible, but it stinks of the sort of deus ex machnia that should be avoided at all costs.
