  1. Yep. But I don't associate the monthly fee with the social aspect. If I wanted that, I'd simply sit in a chatroom. The monthly fee is justified in my mind by the additional content that is added, the economy that is stabilized by a team of GM's, and servers that are stable. I enjoy single player RPG's, but when I am done with the main story, there isn't anything left for me. The character I just played is pretty much dead in my mind. An MMO makes me feel as if my character is taking part in a living, breathing world. My character has a lot more room for growth. Since I have never hit a level cap in a MMO, it feels more like an endless adventure. Eventually I may tire of the gameworld, but it may take years, and the world will go on even without me. That's the big reason I enjoy MMO's.
  2. I like the fact that there are people around, and I even enjoy conversing with guildmates, but that doesn't mean I want to team up with people. I go out in public and enjoy people watching, but that doesn't mean I want to team up with those people and loot and pillage. Keep in mind, I am really exaggerating about being anti-social. I group on occasion and have a decent guild for dungeons and such. What I dislike about grouping is the time commitment.
  3. Sounds unfun. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> In small increments it's fun. I try and bail out as soon as the fun meter reaches yellow.
  4. I'm a bit bummed about the time limit. Still, GTA with zombies is solid gold, people. I'll pick it up after my birthday. Geez, it's going to be a busy couple months.
  5. I'm watching the second season of 24. It amazes me that everyone gets around LA without hitting traffic. Technically, an entire hour should be devoted to Jack Bauer laying on his horn on the freeway.

Looks like another Mogilny type situation. Run Malkin run! Don't let the red curtain crush you! Oh wait...the USSR collapsed. This is all about money.
  7. You know, reading over this topic makes me appreciate how well educated Krookie is, and how far chris the jedi killer has to go. It also makes me question whether Jodo Kast has a space bar on his keyboard. Seriously though, every time video game legislation gets in front of a judge, it gets knocked down. Judges know that the government can't play parent. The only thing the government can do is make sure the Game Industry is giving parents accurate information about their products.
  8. I've been WoWing a bit lately. I have a level 52 paladin, and I'd like to get him up a couple levels by the time the expansion hits. I'm absolutely terrible at grinding. I really hate it, so if I don't find a decent quest to gain xp with, I never level. I'm also largely anti-social, so I have to be able to solo the quest. I gain about a level per month.
  9. Wow, that was one of the better movies I've seen recently. I thought it was clever and amusing, and the narrative style set it apart from most of the trash coming out. Sorry to hear you hated it.
  10. Tarna, you are in rare form tonight. That was gross and entertaining. Golden shower, geesh.
  11. Fiery...it's Fiery! Firey is really bothering me every time I see your posts, Chris.
  12. And now for something completely different...

Sykora is a decent pickup. He has the potential to be one of the top goal scorers in the league.
  14. That's too bad, Irrational would have rocked it.
  15. V for Vendetta made it much easier for me to teach my students about Oliver Cromwell.
  16. I'm a little concerned about your cloth map usage. Do you play NWN and drink tea often?
  17. I just watched "Inside Man" and was pretty entertained. The acting was top notch.

Well, in truth it was a PS2/Papershredder combo. They weren't on the market that long.

My PS2 used to shred discs all the time, so good luck with that.

Eric Desjardins is retiring. What do you think his odds are for the Hall of Fame? He played over 1100 games, put up about 550 points, and won a Stanley Cup. That seems pretty impressive for a defenseman, .5 point average per game.
  21. A ripoff implies that there is money being made somewhere. That's not the case with the comic. I think it's cool.
  22. Man, I had to look up venal. Interesting choice. Much different than venereal.
  23. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/723/723910p1.html I'm a bit concerned to hear about the time limits in normal play, but it still sounds decent.
  24. They are two very different games. Prey is very much an FPS game, albeit a creative one. Dead Rising is GTA in a mall with zombies.
  25. I can agree with that. In the same respect, if you collect movies and catalogue them by director then you are probably a movie hobbyist. But yeah, most people are just casual film buffs.
