I agree Jason Statham would be perfect, but I'm not entirely bummed by Vin Deisel getting the role. Still, it's more about the director and writer. I'll expect the worst and hope for the best.

I've got a serious game of Jagged Alliance 2 going. I love the new patch that allows me to play at 800x600. I just ripped the kingpin off, hired Magic, and now I'm on the way to the hospital for much needed medical supplies. Hitman actually bled to death because I ran out of bandages. I also haven't gotten the Bobby Ray website yet...not sure why.

He actually signed a deal last year for a chain. It's supposed to be called "The Original Soup Guy". It's also supposed to show up in grocery stores, but I'm still waiting. He's a pretty interesting character in real life. He says that he hates Jerry. His words were something like "Jerry didn't make me, I made Jerry! I was already rich before the show!" He also says he tries to drive customers off, but it doesn't work.

Trevor Linden is stepping down as the NHLPA president. I can hardly remember him not being in that position. I wonder who will replace him? Among active players, I'm thinking Shanahan might fill the role since he did do that summit during the lockout. Otherwise I'm guessing it will be a recently retired player.

I'm not sure why I'm responding to Volourn, since he's always right and I am always wrong, but this site does a cool job of showing the graphical differences. http://www.brent-thomas.com/other/hockey/hockey.html NHL96 (look at 1995 on the site) was the first major leap in terms of graphics, and the consoles just couldn't compete. I don't have any official stance on this, I never said I think it's good to shaft the consoles. It's just the way it was. Only the PC had the power to pull off the best hockey games, and for awhile, hockey games were even winning awards from CGW for best sports game. It wasn't just graphics either, the PC version clearly benefitted from and independant development cycle. The interface was made for the PC only. Currently, the NHL series is simply ported over from the console version. I would love to see these games developed separately. As it stands, the console is the primary focus.

Llyr sig rocks. I'm way impatient for the new hockey game to come out. NHL 06 was not bad, but it had serious problems on the PC. I'm getting 07 for my 360 and I expect a much better game. It's a shame that EA seems to be shafting the PC version. 10 years ago, the EA hockey games were only good on the PC. The console versions paled in comparison.

Wow. Well my PC does not kick sand in the face of my Xbox360, so unless you plan on sending me the money to upgrade, I guess I'll continue played Hitman on my widescreen HDTV.

I've been on a couple servers where teams are organized enough to leave a couple people at captured bases. It only works with a good amount of folks, and the guards are sacrificing some points, but it can happen. Personally, I find the base defense points very self satisfying. I usually set up sniping in a spot where I can see a couple bases, and can pick off any lone ninja cappers.

I'm pretty sure Bell will play wing, since the Sharks are overloaded at the center spot. He might end up taking face-offs though. That was a sore spot last season. I think Chicago will be improved, as there isn't really anywhere to go but up, but I question Havlat being their savior. Chicago was a team that couldn't stay healthy last year, and now they got a scorer who missed almost the entire season. It just seems risky. Personally, I'd love to see the Hawks back in the playoffs, they used to be one of my favorite teams to watch.

Gah, my Xbox just froze deep into a mission. I really hat the fact that you can't go back to old saves after a mission. Is it different on the PC?

Interesting trade...Ottawa is getting an excellent defenseman in Priessing. He's really just come into his own, so I'm disappointed he won't be in San Jose. But San Jose is overloaded with PP QB's, so I guess it's the right move. I hope they use Nabakov and Ekman to pull in a better defensive defenseman. I'm not really sure if Chicago will improve with this trade. Can Havlat succeed without the offensive weapons of the Sens? I guess we'll see.

That's a great signing for the Rangers in my eyes. Shany is my all time favorite player. It's amazing that at 37 he was still able to pull a 40-40 season. I imagine Jagr will enjoy feeding him the puck, as he is super deadly in the circles. I can't think of a better power forward to play the game. Maybe Cam Neely, but Shanahan has managed to stay healthy, although he's lost the physical edge over the last few seasons. I believe he's still got another two solid seasons in him before his production declines. Edit: I just read a list that had Gordie Howe and Phil Esposito as power forwards, so I'm putting Shany at 3rd on that list. That's not a bad place to be.

Well, with LotR and Star Wars both wrapped up, the costume folks need something. It's better than having hordes of people show up to Superman in tights. That would be disasterous.
