  1. Well, it's exactly like my PSP, which isn't a bad thing. The big thing that caught my eye was the browser...so will I be able to use the internet just like I do on my PC? That's a pretty cool idea. The 360 interface seems much more limited, although it has improved over the last couple months. I'd also like to see how downloading content is handled.
  2. I've noticed we've seen less of Hades recently, and I think it's because he's dedicated to his diet. Seriously Hades, best of luck and it looks like all us forum trolls are rooting for you. I'm not sure what that's worth, but it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.
  3. I did say any bit of intelligence, so I don't think I was reaching too far Seriously though, I believe there is plenty of intelligence within Washington, but it's often hard to see through the smoke screens. Politicians have to play to the public, they are trying to keep the masses happy. I know for a fact that George Bush Jr. is a fairly open minded guy, but the conservative party line requires him to be gung ho and morally righteous. That's how he managed to get elected twice. I'm not saying I agree with his politics either, I'm just saying he's smarter than most people give him credit for, otherwise he wouldn't keep winning elections. He's also surrounded by people with a heck of a lot more experience and education than myself, so I'm not all that panicked about the state of the US.
  4. There's very little chance that the US will have a draft anytime soon. Vietnam is still too fresh in the minds of the public, and no administration is willing to risk what happened to LBJ. People may talk about it, but it's a big leap. The number of people against the war effort is already too high, most politicians with any bit of intelligence know that a draft would cause tremendous strain.
  5. I played the original. It was an excellent castle building simulator. If you want SimCastle, buy it, if you want an RTS, there are better options.
  6. That's an interesting question. I read "Angels and Demons" before Da Vinci Code, and I honestly liked it better. But I think the reason behind that is Dan Brown's writing is very similiar in both books. They are heavy on the action, and about halfway through the second book, I had grown tired of his style. I didn't think either one was bad, he just isn't a writer I can read a ton of.
  7. http://www.scifi.com/amazingscrewonhead/ This is a pretty awesome cartoon. I imagine if enough people take the survey, it will end up on Sci-Fi. I'm astonished by the voice talent too.
  8. Good direction will always trump acting skills. A good director could take all of us and make a decent movie. Nicholas Cage does tend stick to a certain persona, but at least it's a unique one. His recent movies have blown me away though, they've just been awesome scripts, awesome direction, and perfect for Cage. Weather Man, Lord of War, Matchstick Men, and Adaptation are all movies that would be very different without Cage. I also though National Treasure was one of the better adventure movies recently. It definitely got my students interested in the US History.
  9. Ok, the coolest part about Titan Quest is the rag doll physics. They are hilarious. Special attacks cause bodies to fly way up high in the air and come down in all sorts of odd places. The variety of character classes is neat too, although I feel a bit trapped by my current build. I started out as a hunter, which means spears and bows are my weapons, and then combo-ed in the warrior. So I'm pretty badass with a spear, but I rarely use the bow. I'd like to try a few different builds, but I don't want to hack my way through the levels again. I'm almost done with Greece, which is the first of the 3 parts. I haven't tried online yet.
  10. Oh, I didn't realize this was a Star Wars forum
  11. Man, I saw the movie "Stealth" (well, parts of it...it was too bad to watch completely) and AI is definitely not the way to go. Those things go rogue too easy. Seriously though, remote piloting is pretty common in real life, hence the mars explorers. But remote control has drawbacks as well.
  12. I've been watching "Last Comic Standing", but it's pretty much the end. It's also way less funny watching the live performances. Sadly, I miss the edited stuff.
  13. It says 2000 or XP on the box, but someone else might know more about it.

I think you are right GoA, but they only have 48 hours (now it's 24) to make that deal, otherwise he becomes a free agent.

Yep, they are stuck with it, otherwise he becomes a free agent. Gomez got 5 million as well, which I think he deserves, but I'm not sure if NJ will sign him. Should be interesting to see what happens.
  16. Ok, I've put a few hours into Titan Quest, and I'm enjoying it. It is very much a Diablo clone, but it's well done and graphically very nice. I enjoy the era as well, and I can't think of many other games that have tackled the Bronze Age. I'll probably grow tired of pointing and clicking, but honestly, I was also tired of Oblivion's block and thrust too.
  17. I'm currently reading a Bernard Cornwell book titled "The Winter King". Cornwell is one of my favorite writers. He focuses on historical fiction, and his Richard Sharpe Series follows the Duke of Welllington through his career. I also loved the Grail series with followed a Longbowman through parts of the 100 years war. The series had one of the best endings I have ever read, it was simply unique and entirely realistic. He does a good job of conveying realism with his adventure, and "Winter King" is a bit more fantastical than the other two series I mentioned. It's on King Authur, so he's forced to rely on a lot of conjecture, whereas his other works are taken straight out of the history books.

Belfour signed with Florida. I dislike the eagle intensely, he seems like a douchebag and he said some messed up stuff when he ditched the Sharks awhile back, but I think this is good for the Panthers. Auld will have someone to split time with as he adjusts to being a starting goalie. Belfour will probably get another 30-35 games under his belt before he retires.
  19. Matt Damon is an excellent actor in my eyes. In fact he's a bit too established to take on a role like this. He wouldn't be William Shatner, that's for sure. Was the Screech reference a dig on Matt Damon? He's a great deal more talented than the cast of Saved By the Bell.
  20. Ok, just picked up Titan Quest. It's been awhile since I played an action RPG, so maybe it will feel fresh and inspired.
  21. But it's still a brothel.

    EEK!

Couldn't we just spam it with topics about every videocard released in the past ten years and their technical capabilities and limitations? One topic for each card. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I like your thinking. I'm giving you the rank of General, comrade. We also need to rise up against the moderators. It will be difficult, as they outnumber us 5 to 1, but without the people they are nothing. For the people!
  23. Overclocking to 256 also probably isn't that effective. It sounds like a lot but 128 is enough to run most games. But it might just be a weak card no matter how you clock it. I'd recommend upgrading the card, as the rest of the system isn't too bad. You can get a decent card for about $150.
  24. Why do you think I'm the only one in the picture? There can be only one.
  25. http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/scp_v3/viewer...c=www.yahoo.com This guy rules. He prefaced his argument with "In my reality". I believe him.
