  1. Bleh, the GW storyline did absolutely nothing for me. That's totally a subject of opinion. I prefer the comedic quests of WoW and the solvable books of EQ2. Or if I really want a story, I'll play a good single player game...just as soon as another one comes out.
  2. Actually, the real problem I see with EQ2 is the lack of a cohesive artistic vision. There are some parts of Norrath that look stunning, particularly the rushing rivers and fountains. But you can really see how the game went through different development teams when it was being made. I think the expansions are much better looking overall. EQ2 also has a rather complex amount of graphical variables. I think I spent at least a few hours trying different settings before I was happy with the graphics. The griffons have to be the ugliest thing in EQ2. Seriously, it looks like you are riding a cardboard cutout.
  3. I'd be surprised to see Blizzard tackle a new MMO anytime soon. I imagine if they did, it would still be in development for 4-5 years. Also, World of Diablo seems a bit silly, since the fantasy setting is pretty well covered with WoW. Starcraft might be a better target for an MMO because there have been very few succesful sci-fi games in this genre. Still, I'm guessing we will see Diablo 3 run more like Guild Wars than WoW.
  4. First off, the major difference between Guild Wars and MMORPG's is the servers. You are technically in a large graphical chat room in Guild Wars, and all combat is handled with instances. It's a much simpler way of handling a multiplayer game, and hence the server and admin costs are kept to a minimum. It is much more similiar to Diablo than WoW. Secondly, monthly costs for MMORPG's have been explained ad nauseum on these boards. If you still don't get the economic model behind it, then you are just looking for reasons to dislike these types of games. Also, WoW has yet to release a single expansion. They have over 100 servers running with admin teams, GM's, and testers, as well as programmers and artists churning out new content every month. They would either be broke, or not be able to offer this support, without a monthly fee. Now Everquest 2, on the other hand, does seem to milk its customers. But then again, the content they release is for the nutcases that play 10 hours a day, so the cost per hour is probably pretty good for the gamer.
  5. I can't believe you've been playing it for 3 years.
  6. Wouldn't you do the same? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> No. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> By no, you mean yes?
  7. Wouldn't you do the same?
  8. Nobody had stated earlier that it was an adventure game, so I was clumsily stating that. It had a few action scenes if I remember correctly, so that might be what I mean.
  9. I can already see your grammar improving. Way to go Rokor.
  10. I actually really liked the game. It was more of an adventure game than anything else. It also was pretty short, I think under 10 hours. It did a great job of capturing the atmosphere of Ridley Scott's world. I'm guessing you will have trouble running it on XP though.
  11. Good, feel the pull of the darkside.

I'm glad the Oil won, but I'd be pissed if I lost on that goal. He basically just barreled into the net to push it in.
  13. Huh? I played the demo on my widescreen TV and it looks terrific.
  14. I bought Metalheart for $20. It was painful. The potential was there, but seriously, worst translations ever.
  15. Seriously, it kick started an Arcade Renaissance. Give credit where credit is due.
  16. I can't believe you guys knock Oblivion for being smaller and having less quests. It still has more than I could ever finish in a year. I agree with all the other negatives.
  17. Return the game and buy a grammar workbook.
  18. Dude I frickin' warned you. Don't cry to me when you are on your death bed and you want that 88 minutes back.
  19. Like every team sport, I'm sure there are gay players who just keep it quiet. Although a gay guy who can skate has another sporting option. That sounds like a stereotype but, seriously, figure skating takes a certain mentality.
  20. Very few people actually choose to believe in God without having been indoctrinated from birth. I find there is a distinct lack of choice in every Christian I know. Going to a Christian school, that's quite a lot. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> You can say that about Christianity, but religion in general has been a huge part of humanity. Religion is extremely important. It plays a very prominent role in civilization. Dismissing it as stupid seems a bit short-sided to me.
  21. You know, the Catholic church actually supported the claim that homosexuality is a dormant genetic trait. Even the bible is quite clear that it isn't homosexuals who are bad, but rather their actions. This doesn't mean they support homosexuality, it just means that someone who is gay is not inherently evil. They expect abstinence. I don't think it's fair to expect that from someone, but I was happy when they released that statement (It was in the early 90's, if I remember correctly.) I'm just disappointed most other Christian churches ignore the science.
  22. I agree with that, but there are many government run programs for adoption as well, and I don't think they should discriminate. They should seek the best parents, regardless of race, religion, or orientation.

Whoa boy, that was not pretty. One thing for Carolina, they mastered that 70 foot pass. Not many teams have taken advantage of dropping the 20line pass rule, but I saw Carolina do it during the regular season and it looks like it may help them hoist the Cup. Still, San Jose went up 2-0 also, so the Oil aren't done yet.
  24. True, but race isn't really the crux of my argument. Non carcasian isn't the only minority. Should muslims have equal adoption rights? Is it fair to give the child to a family that will force it to pray 5x a day to a brick? Obviously not. Minorities aren't ideal candidates imho... it just makes life unnecessarily harder for the child. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It sounds like you both are punishing the victims here. Just because members of society will discriminate against minorities and gay people, doesn't mean they shouldn't be given the same opportunities. Society will never change at that rate. We'd still have segregation. Race and sexual orientation should not have any bearing in adoption, but rather good parenting skills. It's true that children of gay parents encounter major discrimination, but those children also tend to be open-minded and willing to fight discrimination. Part of that is because a gay couple rarely gets knocked up randomly, so they are much more prepared for parenting. There are no statistics that show the children are more prone to being gay.
