You know, I went and looked up the critical reviews of each movie, thinking that I could show that the 1st was better. That didn't happen, all three movies had a C average. For some reason, I remember slightly enjoying the first one, but I guess I'm a sucker for Vin Diesel.

The first Fast and Furious was a decent flick, and it even got decent ratings to boot. The 2nd one was a travesty. Who woulda guessed that Vin Diesel was the glue holding that thing together (actually, it was probably more the director change.) The 3rd one couldn't even wrap up that lead actor guy who was in the first two, so you are guaranteed suckiness. The most interesting thing I saw was a documentary on drifting and how they used it in the movie.

Roli as in Roloson? I think Roloson is going to be pretty content staying in Edmonton. Look how long he stayed in Minnesota.

Pavol Demitra to Minnesota is a pretty big trade. If Demitra stays healthy, that could really allow the Wild to run an offense. Demitra to Gaborik sounds dangerous.

Yeah...exciting...some guy I'll see in 2-3 years. Still, he's a pretty big defenseman. Hopefully he'll be a solid blueliner. That hopefully allows San Jose to be comfortable dealing off one of their many solid yound D-men.

Actually, the two are extremely far apart. It's like visiting London to see the Eifel Tower. I had a British friend who moved to San Jose because he wanted to be an actor. He ended up working in computers. He never made it to Hollywood.

There is nothing sexist here. My wife wears the pants in my family, but you can bet she'll be plenty happy to live in any crap-hole for the money Pronger is making. Of course Oiler fans are going to hate Pronger. They want what is best for thier team. It is no more selfish than Pronger wanting to leave.

I second that, it really is a great tour. If you see that and Hearst Castle, you are visiting two of the coolest places in the US.

I watched Jersey Girl recently. I don't really count it as part of the Kevin Smith portfolio. You left Dogma off your list, which I consider to be the top one. I hardly consider Kevin Smith a hollywood hack. The guy is a comic book geek who worked his tail off to get his movies out. Even if you don't like them, I find it hard to see your point of view. Anyways, I just watched most of the original Clerks again, and I'm willing to see it. It did teach me the term "snowball".

Volologic strikes again. Seriously though, Edmonton is a lot different than St. Louis in climate and culture. But they have a great hockey tradition, so I think they will have no problem attracting other players. I'm just surprised that Pronger would be so willing to run from Edmonton when he's really played his best hockey there. Clearly his wife wears the pants. Blaming Edmonton is silly. Each city has unique aspects, and they won't always mix well with certain players. New York has it's own problems. Theo Fleury and Sandis Ozolinsh are prime examples of players who couldn't handle the big apple.

I wasn't saying the Luongo can't be a top goaltender, I just think he needs to play for a competitive team to really judge his skills. Particularly, can he make the big saves in the close games? In Florida, his job really was just to give the Panthers a chance. He was seeing a ton of shots. Although with Vancouver trading all the D-men, maybe Luongo will see a similiar shot count.

That seems like a good trade for both sides. Bertuzzi should do well in Florida without the glare of the media, and I like Alex Auld as well. It's probably a better deal for Vancouver, but Florida didn't have the ability to keep Luongo and at least they got a top player for him. I'm still not sold on Luongo being the best goalie in the league, either. With Vancouver, he should get the chance to prove it by winning games.

Both of those are more central Cali than Northern. Northern Cali is usually referred to as the Coastal region between Monterey and Napa. Although technically I guess it ends at Oregon, with Chico being the last major city (and that's debatable.)

I live in the heart of Northern California, so I can give a few tips. 1. Visit San Francisco for a day. It's actually a pretty small little city, and you can walk the entire downtown area if you are in decent shape. Visit Pier 39, but not on a weekend. The place is crowded. Get a tour of Alcatraz. Walk the Golden Gate. Take a ferry somewhere. Go to "The Stinking Rose" for dinner. This is an excellent restaurant that specializes in garlic dishes. It's easier than visiting Gilroy. 2. You said you are in the low part of Northern California. Do you have a town name? If you are near Hearst Castle, that's an excellent place to visit. 3. Carmel and Monterey are a bit further north, but they are excellent places to visit as well. There are some great Coastal redwoods in Big Basin as well. Just driving up and down Highway 1 is a pretty great experience...if you don't get car sick. I've spent a lot of time exploring the area, as my wife and I don't have money for long distance vacations. If you are more clear about your expectations, timeline, and location, I can throw out some more info. It's a lovely part of the world.
