This smells like a corporate plant, but it did invoke some fond memories. I too remember the flying toasters of AfterDark and the witty set up of "You Don't Know Jack". I thought they went with DVD versions of the game?

http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/news_story/?ID=171878&hubname=nhl I'm happy to see Ekman go, as he failed to produce in the playoffs two years in a row and really didn't fit in anywhere. Pittsburgh is a good place for him, he's a bit more defensive minded than most of the Pens and he's fast enough to work with Crosby or Malkin. I'm just surprised that he went for a 2nd rounder. The guy put up over 20 goals and 50 points the last two seasons. I was hoping he'd warrant a solid blueliner. Well, San Jose really only needs on thing, another experienced defenseman. If they can move Nabakov or Toskala for that, I'll be happy. They really need to move one of the goalies, too.

It's probably going to be like Oblivion. So, I would call it an Action-RPG. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> It's really not an RPG at all. Comparing it to Oblivion is like comparing Dues Ex and Half-Life. HF is purely a FPS game, Dues Ex is a hybrid. Every preview and clip I've seen of the new Might and Magic game points to it being strictly a FPS with medieval weapons and magic. The physics sound awesome though.

I recently got my wife playing WoW. She has never played games before, not even Nintendo ones as a kid. It's fascinating watching her learn the nuances of gaming. WoW is likely the only game that I could ever have used to get her gaming with. It is that powerful. So I've been playing that with her. It's actually hard to keep up, as she had foot surgery recently and has already put a good 50 hours into her warrior.

I like that so far, Eldar has not appeared, giving me hope he's out having a great B-Day. Enjoy it Eldar!

Loma Prieta was '89, and that's the only serious SF quake recently. 7.1 magnitude. Check out that rip. I live near Morgan Hill. http://quake.wr.usgs.gov/research/strongmo...nsity/1989.html

That's a pretty wierd story, sounds like he really clashed with the owners. Smith also just did a bunch of work trying to improve the team, so it seems like he got shafted, but he probably still comes out with a decent paycheck. Garth Snow is an odd choice, but it sounds like the owners want someone malleable.

Who do you think made that web page? It wasn't Bethesda.

Pictures of your Games: Revolutions

I actually wrote a rather long email to the GODS developer after playing the demo. I really liked their combat style, but I was concerned about the translation. I begged them to hire a professional writer for an English version. They responded, surprisingly, with this. "1) dialogues: We intended english in our game to be simple and easy to understand for wide range of people, better said to be 'international english'. BTW, we tried to shorten dialogues as much as possible because we think that RPG game is not a book. Those dialogues were writen by myself and I just don't like long dialogues in games. I must admit that I am not english born. But yes, we hired an american for dialogue correction so we expected them to be correct. On the other hand, I understand that an English teacher would be more demanding for style, diction, tone etc." I think I'll pick it up just because it was cool to get a personal response. -
Peca brings a lot more than points to a team. He can play against the top line every night, and he does the intangibles very well.

GTA: SA was an interesting change from the mafia setting. I had to really think back to my Boyz in tha Hood days. Unfortunately my wife took the game away after I called her my Beeeotch.

1. From what I've learned on other threads, DigiPen offers a Computer Science degree. This is applicable to many different jobs. 2. Not sure, but your best bet is contacting them. I doubt it. 3. This is the only one I can answer definitively. Why do you need 6 months off? Going to college straight after High School gives you better odds of getting through college. I've seen some statistics, and many people who put it off just don't ever get going. Even so, everyone is different, so that's a decision you need to make yourself. Just know that at 18 or 19 you have more energy than at any other time in your life. It's all downhill from here.

Well, I'm not super interested in this game, but the preview cracked me up. They really captured some ethnic diversity. Except where is the take no prisoners female character? http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/718/718873p1.html

I plan on trading in Hitman eventually. I should get about $30-35 in credit for it. That takes the sting off the $60 price tag a bit.

Wow, Krookie seems to have a bit of a temper. Anyways, Wizardry 8 has a very interesting development story, which is why Krookie's comments probably upset some folks (I know it upset me.) Basically Sir-Tech, the developer, was trampled under the feet of the big corporate companies. They refused to sell out and managed to push out Jagged Alliance 2:UB and Wizardry 8 with incredibly small teams. Despite being undermanned and underfunded, they made some extremely creative projects. There was nothing boring about there work. Both JA2 and Wizardry 8 were critically celebrated, but couldn't compete with the demonspawn that EA floods the shelves with.

Charisma Carpenter was ready to be killed off. Her character was obnoxious when Joss gave her more depth, I prefered the shallow Buffy version of her. She also wasn't as hot as she used to be. Anya was a bummer, but it was the last episode, and if Angel continued she might have resurfaced. She was a demon at one time, so who knows. Spike resurfaced after seeming to be pretty done.

Well, Doug Wilson knows how to get deals done. Dean Lombardi used to try and hardball everyone, which is great for business but bad for morale. Still, they were mostly 3rd and 4th line guys. I was happy to see Goc and Stevenson wrapped up, and not all that pleased to see Parker come back, but I guess the enforcer role is still a commodity. I still expect a goalie to be moved, preferrably for a defenseman, and I'd like to see Nils Ekman get traded. He's been booted off the highest scoring line in hockey, so I don't imagine he'll have much confidence in San Jose. Hopefully he has some value, with a couple 20 goal seasons under his belt. Speaking of Goc, I think he's going to blossom into a solid scorer this next season. He's underrated because of his defensive responsibilities, but I see him turning into a Joe Newiendyke (sp?) type player.

Lindros is done. He's always been over-rated in my eyes.

Heartbreak Ridge - First time I've seen it, and it was superb.

Yeah, you just have to really book it on the main quests and pretty much ignore the top ten pirate list. I think I killed a couple, and I did manage to get a wife and some land, but it took most of my career. Also, if you go the doctor route, you can stay healthy longer. I preferred the swordfighter route myself. I also didn't do this on the hardest difficulty.

I would call this pwnage. Absolute pwnage. -
So...exactly what is that? I mean, does it have new fottage or anything?

Well, I agree with everyone that Ted Stevens is completely out of it, but the folks who use this as a chance to US bash don't know much about our government. And he may be the head of a committee, but that doesn't mean he really has power. Committees are a dime a dozen in Washington, as are politicians. He's just an old coot that Alaska has likely forgotten about.

~4 minute Mass Effect trailer on 360 marketplace

I didn't read the 8 pages that somehow spurted from this thread immediately, but did anyone else think the combat looked like a standard shooter? I mean, can you pause and issue commands? What is the deal?
