  1. Wow, that was one of the better movies I've seen recently. I thought it was clever and amusing, and the narrative style set it apart from most of the trash coming out. Sorry to hear you hated it.
  2. Tarna, you are in rare form tonight. That was gross and entertaining. Golden shower, geesh.
  3. Fiery...it's Fiery! Firey is really bothering me every time I see your posts, Chris.
  4. And now for something completely different...

Sykora is a decent pickup. He has the potential to be one of the top goal scorers in the league.
  6. That's too bad, Irrational would have rocked it.
  7. V for Vendetta made it much easier for me to teach my students about Oliver Cromwell.
  8. I'm a little concerned about your cloth map usage. Do you play NWN and drink tea often?
  9. I just watched "Inside Man" and was pretty entertained. The acting was top notch.
  10. Well, in truth it was a PS2/Papershredder combo. They weren't on the market that long.
  11. My PS2 used to shred discs all the time, so good luck with that.

Eric Desjardins is retiring. What do you think his odds are for the Hall of Fame? He played over 1100 games, put up about 550 points, and won a Stanley Cup. That seems pretty impressive for a defenseman, .5 point average per game.
  13. A ripoff implies that there is money being made somewhere. That's not the case with the comic. I think it's cool.
  14. Man, I had to look up venal. Interesting choice. Much different than venereal.
  15. http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/723/723910p1.html I'm a bit concerned to hear about the time limits in normal play, but it still sounds decent.
  16. They are two very different games. Prey is very much an FPS game, albeit a creative one. Dead Rising is GTA in a mall with zombies.
  17. I can agree with that. In the same respect, if you collect movies and catalogue them by director then you are probably a movie hobbyist. But yeah, most people are just casual film buffs.
  18. I started Prey on my 360. It's a pretty intense bit of gaming. I hope it doesn't make me do the same thing over and over again though.
  19. This IS a discussion, it just happens that most people disagree with you. You aren't presenting an impartial piece of information, you are stating an opinion (Microsoft lied) and people are offering rebuttals (business is business).
  20. I would say a sport is a hobby unless you are using it to further some goal, such as getting a scholarship or going pro. If you just play to play, it's a hobby.
  21. Oh, and my marriage is a full time gig. It's definitely not a hobby.
  22. Hockey, hockey, and hockey. (Ice) When I am not playing hockey, I am usually thinking about it. Of course, video games and reading are pretty big hobbies too. I also consider teaching a hobby in a way, as even when I'm not on the clock I'm often doing something for my classroom skills.
  23. So you think that Industrialization has taken away the need for slavery? I'm sorry, but slavery very much exists today, it's just not out in the open. Sweatshops are the modern equivalent of slavery. People are sold in 3rd world countries everyday. But the difference is that most countries actively try to root out such practices. I do agree with you that, historically, industrialization made it easier for nations to end slavery, but I also think human morality plays a huge role. As the world becomes more educated, there is a steady progress of individual rights and worth. It may seem slow, or even going backwards on occassion, but overall the world is becoming a better place.
  24. I just finished up with the demo, and wow. It's awesome. The thrill of running down zombies with a shopping cart is really unexplainable. I saw 4 of the different demo endings, and they all point to a pretty solid bit of storytelling mixed in with the brutality. I also started getting pretty good at taking pictures. I got a ton of points for putting a few of those plush toy heads above on zombies and snapping shots of them. This is basically a combination of GTA and Resident Evil done really well.
  25. I thought the concept was rather shallow as well, but there are missions and such that actually affect the story, and not everyone in the mall is a zombie. GTA is based on the same principals, albeit in an entire city, but I never really get bored with that game.
