I agree with Pidesco. I liked Heat, but The Insider was powerful.

I revived this thread because I just finished paying $200 for my root cleaning, and now they want me to pay $75 for each of my 5 cavities. That's $375 for the math challenged. I was concerned, so I called my dental care provider. They were concerned as well, and now I'm searching for a new dentist and they are following up for me. Basically, my dentist only does resin (white) fillings. He didn't mention that there was an option (silver or amalgam) which is free to me. There is mercury in the silver fillings, but I looked all over the net and every study says the amount from fillings has never been shown to be harmful. It also lasts way longer than the resin fillings. I feel pretty ripped off, but at least I didn't pay the $375 for my fillings.

I'm thinking about why this thread stays open while the three where people shared their writing got locked down.

That was hilarious. That kid pulled out the dead mother and had it rammed up his butt.

Great voice and characterization. It felt gritty and the stream of consciousness style added to the story. I got a bit confused in a few spots about who was talking though, but I don't read well on the computer.

The male restroom is a tricky place. Most men have no qualms about relieving themselves in even the dirtiest of bathrooms. Urination is handled quickly and with little precision. The average male will make a casual attempt at hitting the urinal and be on his merry way. If no bathroom is present, any dark corner will do. The problem with this casual spraying is that the secondary method of relieving oneself becomes trickier. It is a much more personal experience to place one

First off Eddo, I think it's awesome of you to share your literature. I recommend ignoring the trolls on here, as they probably couldn't even commit to writing that much. Second, you write excellent action scenes. They are easy to follow and easy to read. I didn't expect to read the whole thing, but the action kept me involved. Dialogue is a difficult beast to tame when writing. Keep it simple, look at Hemingway for a good example. I give it a 10 just for sharing it with us, I know that is not an easy thing to do. There are some great literary forums out there as well, so I recommend submitting it and letting them help you flesh it out.

I agree with you, although Gray Davis might not. He was the California governor who was booted in the middle of his term. He didn't do anything legal, they just got enough votes to get rid of him and hold another election. Hence the Terminator.

Titan Quest is full action-RPG. When you aren't clicking furiously, you are managing your inventory. Still, it's a very good action-RPG, but for many that is an oxymoron.

I'll try and do so tomorrow for you. I can also use my wife's account to help out.

But we've already covered the fact that there is no draft right now, and there is almost no chance of there being one soon. The draft hasn't been used since Vietnam.

I just saved Greece in Titan Quest. Now I'm in Egypt...and I'm not all that inspired to go on. I think I'll try the multiplayer. I was a bit bummed that there was no cut scene at the end of the first act. I guess I'm spoiled from Diablo.

Well, it's exactly like my PSP, which isn't a bad thing. The big thing that caught my eye was the browser...so will I be able to use the internet just like I do on my PC? That's a pretty cool idea. The 360 interface seems much more limited, although it has improved over the last couple months. I'd also like to see how downloading content is handled.

I've noticed we've seen less of Hades recently, and I think it's because he's dedicated to his diet. Seriously Hades, best of luck and it looks like all us forum trolls are rooting for you. I'm not sure what that's worth, but it's better than a poke in the eye with a sharp stick.

I did say any bit of intelligence, so I don't think I was reaching too far Seriously though, I believe there is plenty of intelligence within Washington, but it's often hard to see through the smoke screens. Politicians have to play to the public, they are trying to keep the masses happy. I know for a fact that George Bush Jr. is a fairly open minded guy, but the conservative party line requires him to be gung ho and morally righteous. That's how he managed to get elected twice. I'm not saying I agree with his politics either, I'm just saying he's smarter than most people give him credit for, otherwise he wouldn't keep winning elections. He's also surrounded by people with a heck of a lot more experience and education than myself, so I'm not all that panicked about the state of the US.

There's very little chance that the US will have a draft anytime soon. Vietnam is still too fresh in the minds of the public, and no administration is willing to risk what happened to LBJ. People may talk about it, but it's a big leap. The number of people against the war effort is already too high, most politicians with any bit of intelligence know that a draft would cause tremendous strain.

I played the original. It was an excellent castle building simulator. If you want SimCastle, buy it, if you want an RTS, there are better options.

That's an interesting question. I read "Angels and Demons" before Da Vinci Code, and I honestly liked it better. But I think the reason behind that is Dan Brown's writing is very similiar in both books. They are heavy on the action, and about halfway through the second book, I had grown tired of his style. I didn't think either one was bad, he just isn't a writer I can read a ton of.

http://www.scifi.com/amazingscrewonhead/ This is a pretty awesome cartoon. I imagine if enough people take the survey, it will end up on Sci-Fi. I'm astonished by the voice talent too.

Good direction will always trump acting skills. A good director could take all of us and make a decent movie. Nicholas Cage does tend stick to a certain persona, but at least it's a unique one. His recent movies have blown me away though, they've just been awesome scripts, awesome direction, and perfect for Cage. Weather Man, Lord of War, Matchstick Men, and Adaptation are all movies that would be very different without Cage. I also though National Treasure was one of the better adventure movies recently. It definitely got my students interested in the US History.

Ok, the coolest part about Titan Quest is the rag doll physics. They are hilarious. Special attacks cause bodies to fly way up high in the air and come down in all sorts of odd places. The variety of character classes is neat too, although I feel a bit trapped by my current build. I started out as a hunter, which means spears and bows are my weapons, and then combo-ed in the warrior. So I'm pretty badass with a spear, but I rarely use the bow. I'd like to try a few different builds, but I don't want to hack my way through the levels again. I'm almost done with Greece, which is the first of the 3 parts. I haven't tried online yet.

Oh, I didn't realize this was a Star Wars forum

Man, I saw the movie "Stealth" (well, parts of it...it was too bad to watch completely) and AI is definitely not the way to go. Those things go rogue too easy. Seriously though, remote piloting is pretty common in real life, hence the mars explorers. But remote control has drawbacks as well.

I've been watching "Last Comic Standing", but it's pretty much the end. It's also way less funny watching the live performances. Sadly, I miss the edited stuff.

It says 2000 or XP on the box, but someone else might know more about it.
