Games of the future
Does Jagged Alliance 2 v1.13 count? Of course it does, it is the best mod for the best strategy game ever. Well, Xcom wasn't too shabby either.

CIA torture directives
Promoting terrorists rights? Do you work at Fox News? You've really convinced yourself that terrorists (and in some cases, suspected terrorists) aren't human beings, haven't you?

Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
If someone wants to quickload the heck out of a game, that is their choice. We don't need artificial barriers to alienate people because you want to game to be hardcore. I'm not sure what the Halo-Halowars question is. These will both be RPG's, so the answer is no, I suppose. If they are using the same eging and working on a short timeline, we really shouldn't expect any drastic changes in game play.

NFL Season 2009
Hey, can we do an Obsidian Fantasy Football league this season? I miss doing one, I pay better attention to the season when I'm involved.

E10/E game advice for PS3
My daughter loves watching Family Guy with me, but she's only 2. Still, I'll probably have to cut her off from it soon. It's a shame, because the music numbers are always fantastic and that's what she digs.

On-Site Fallout Forum...
If they stay in their own little forum, we should be ok. I don't even notice all the Star Wars fanboys that hang out in the KotOR forum. Every once in awhile I go in there, and it's like a different world!

E10/E game advice for PS3
I believe the comparison is more of a teen +13 game and a PG-13 movie, not R and Mature. I doubt his kid is playing GTA4. But there are a ton of different angles to this argument. The stuff on TV can be pretty terrible as well, even the cartoons. taks was making the observation that cartoon violence seems to affect his son differently. But some kids probably shouldn't watch or play either, and every kid matures at a different rate, so taks will have to decide when his child is ready to play the older titles again. The real issue is so many parents are completely uninvolved in what their child is doing.

Wow. That's a gem of a thread. I think Hades has lightened up over the years.

Americans can't do anything right
I really am starting to feel it now at 30, too. 8 years ago, it didn't matter what I ate, as long as I played hockey on a regular basis. Now I've been unable to shake the pounds, even when playing a lot of hockey. I should probably cut out cookies or ice cream.

That's awesome! My daughter's b-day is next week, #2.

What are you playing now?
They are up to 20 at this point. I probably won't go with the permadeath idea forever. I might play this character and maybe another under the permadeath rules, but to be honest, I'm not sure if I will subscribe to this game long term. It is very group-centric, which is a drawback for my schedule.

Hey, I'm in the acceptable range, lay off!

Considering the number of high level characters in an MMO that should have access to raise dead, what is this death thing you speak of? It's kind of like sleeping right? Just a temporary affliction until the end of combat? Well, this is a D&D game, so you need a level 9 cleric around to raise dead. Getting to level 9 is the tough part, DDO has a different leveling curve compared to MMO's. Plus, if you are in a dungeon, and you die with no level 9 cleric, you are dead. Or if the cleric dies, then everyone is dead. Basically it is a ruleset created by players to make the game more difficult. You also have to run the instanced quests on the highest difficulty available. I think the highest level in the guild was 7 or 8, but I might be wrong. When I joined, there was a bunch of guys who had just re-rolled after a bad night, so I got to go through the intro with them.

I'm not sure what the VATS complaints are about. It is possible to never use it, if you'd like.

Americans can't do anything right
Hmm, maybe I'm thinking of a different test. When I had my body fat measured a few years ago, they took a ton of measurements from different parts of my body and then factored it out. I was at 11%. I'm probably closer to 20% now though, all the baby weight I gained.

Americans can't do anything right
American isn't usually considered a race, mostly because of the short history of most inhabitants here. Many Americans can trace their roots back to a different country in just a few generations. American Indians tend to associate their heritage to a specific tribe.

Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
Actually, I think the majority of the posts have been positive here, just a couple naysayers. Of course, Fallout 3 was well received here as well much more so than Oblivion.

What are you playing now?
I don't like you. To be fair, I actually found it pretty jarring to start off as well, and stalled out on Liberty Island on my first play through. The second time it took off though, and I played to completion.

What are you playing now?
So if you die your supposed to abandon your character? Yep, that's why it's called death, I believe. Although you could just leave the guild, if you are too attached. It's really just about creating a different way to play an MMO. I think the hardest part is the lack of varied content, meaning I can't picture myself going through the starter area another 5-10 times.

Obsidian making Fallout: New Vegas
This is fantastic! Fallout 3 was the best game I played last year, so take it and add in Obsidian writers, and it sounds like a match made in heaven. I wouldn't go expecting the gameplay mechanics to be much different for all the folks that disliked Fallout 3. This will likely be a bit like KotOR 2, new story and characters, but same overall character creation, gameplay, and look. That's great for me, but I can see some people having issues.

Americans can't do anything right
If we are going strictly on definition, obesity really only applies to BMI scores. You have to factor in height and mass, not just weight. Obesity is when your BMI score is over 30, and there are various stages of obesity. It's not a perfect system, but it's better than that weight to height ratio scale I've seen around, those don't factor in muscle mass at all.

NHL
I really don't know what to say. The Sharks just look broken. They have too much talent to look too bad out there, but there is definitely something wrong. It's been evident in the last 20 games of the season, it's like their offense has just stopped clicking. The first half of the season was phenomenal, the passes were crisp, the shots were on target, the movement was perfect. Now it's just a hair off, more shots missing the net, guys aren't connecting on passes. I'm sure Anaheim deserves some credit, but they doubled the shot totals of the Ducks in the last two games. You'd think they would at least split the series.
