  1. Some of the classes in the expansions look fantastic. I made the big leagues! My first game as a Giant was against the San Diego Padres. I was pretty nervous, but I had a good Spring Training Camp and I had been working on my power hitting. I stepped up to the plate for my first major league pitch and... BOOM! I took it out of the park! Fantastic timing. I've only averaged about 10 homers in my first two seasons in the minors, so it was a really beg deal. The game went forever, it was 7-7 until the 18th inning, when we managed to pull out a 9-7 lead and win it. I went 4-8 at the plate, with 2 RBI's. I was also hit by a pitch and went down on strikes once. It was epic. If every game is like this, my heart may give out.
  2. There was very little logic involved with EA and their decision to cancel UO2. They are now way behind in the genre and are struggling to find a way in. Blizzard is run much more efficiently. But it probably isn't another MMO because they already have an unannounced MMO in the works.
  3. I'm not sure I know what you're talking about. Romances have been part of adventure games since King's Quest 2. Hmm, I will say that romances in adventure games are usually handled more delicately. They are there, but for some reason they have always felt less jarring. Perhaps because they simply exist in the storyline, it isn't something you are trying to awkwardly influence. I can't think of any adventure game where you have a choice in pursuing the romance. It's just a natural part of the story that is being told.
  4. Steam really enables impulse buying.

Yeah, I think that's why people are so afraid to celebrate the accomplishment. But the Sharks are plenty capable of losing in the playoffs whether they win it or not, so I figure why not celebrate it?
  6. Yeah, I really liked that film. Fantastic revenge flick.

People keep saying that the President's trophy means nothing, both in the media and on the Sharks. I don't get that at all. My team has never won he President's trophy and I think it will be awesome if they pull it off. It isn't even the home ice advantage throughout the playoffs that I care about, it's the fact that they get a huge trophy and they played better than anyone else in the regular season.
  8. D2 wasn't a grind? I don't get that at all. I also haven't really understood where the grind is in most of the newer MMO's. You can level up in these games strictly on quest xp. I very rarely kill something in LotR Online that isn't related to a storyline.
  9. The other day I had an impulse for a baseball game, so I bought Out of the Park on Steam. That was fun, but it didn't really satisfy the itch. So I justified selling my 360 and buying a PS3, and then bought MLB 09 The Show. THAT is an impulse buy! It's been worth it. I also bought a car last month. I went in just to look at them and ended up driving off the lot. I also bought an RV this summer. We got a card offering $20 just to come in and look at them, so we figured why not? We didn't buy that day, but a week later we were back in there buying it.
  10. That too! Getting old is going to be awesome. No more worrying about what I can and cannot control. And nap time
  11. I don't really consider Guild Wars a MMO in any sense of the word. It's closer to Diablo 2 in the actual online aspects.
  12. Well, humans become progressively more pro-religion as they get older, so I guess it's just following a natural progression.
  13. I played it back in the day. It's a very solid game, I'd definitely say it is worth the pickup. They've changed a ton of stuff since I played it, for the better from what I hear, so I can't give you too much insight on it.
  14. I detest hitting the level cap, so I'm trying to milk the last couple levels for a few months. They did release that new content area that I want to explore, but I'm on a bit of a break. With the low $10 monthly fee, I don't find myself trying to justify the subscription if I take a couple months off. In MMO news, I'm actually playing Vanguard and enjoying the diplomacy and crafting aspects.
  15. One of the biggest issues is that the harder the difficulty, the faster you level. That was a huge Bethesda brain fart right there.
  16. MLB 09 The Show - This game really has its hooks in me. The duels I've had with pitchers have been phenomenal. Sometimes I get the pitch count up to 8 or 9 and I have to pause and wipe the sweat off my palms. My skills are good enough for the majors, but the Giants don't have room for me. That's alright though, I'm enjoying playing for my AAA team in Fresno. We just swept our first round series in the playoffs. I went 0-4 in the first game, but the 2nd game I went 2-4 with an RBI and then in the third game I caught on fire, going 5-5 with a homer and 3 RBI's. I'll start the next series tonight hopefully. I've been batting around .400 all season long, but I missed two months with a fractured shin, so that was a bit of a setback. I need to spend more points on durability. After the playoffs end for AAA, it should be a busy off season. My contract is up, but I've already told the Giants I would like to stay on with them. I'm pretty sure I have a good shot at making the Show, but I'll need to play well during spring training.

Well, we are running very close to the end here. It's pretty likely that anyone could die in the final stretch. I'm pretty sure they will make his death epic if it does happen, hopefully better than Eko's death. What happened to Bernard and Rose? Are they going to turn out to be the skeleton couple in the caves? Or are they just a lost storyline?
  19. I'll second that. I really enjoyed that game. My list would be: KotOR 1 & 2 Tie Fighter Republic Commando X-Wing (although the A-Wing was the one that rocked) Dark Forces
  20. I'm not quite sure how or why you would want to do that. If you are making a "best of" list, I would think you would need to ignore the fact that older games are are going to look outdated. For its time, they were fantastic games. I would think the argument could be better made that comparing a flight sim to an RPG or an action game is the bigger problem with these lists.
  21. I've been playing way too much MLB 09 The Show. I'm kicking butt in my second season. I'm a regular starting 3rd baseman for the Triple A club in Fresno. I have a feeling I'll get the call up to the big leagues by the end of the season, sooner if there is an injury. I'm not sure if my skills are good enough yet, but I'll do my best. I'm batting around .415 with 170 at bats. I've only homered 4 times, but I'm trying to get my power hitting up at ever batting practice. I'm also playing Vanguard with a buddy. I always forget what a fantastic game it is. It's easily the most complex of the MMO's on the market.

Where is the adult Ben right now? Isn't he in a coma or something with all the new plane crash folks? Perhaps he's going to die, but it can't undo the past, only end his future.
  23. I just don't get the appeal of 3D movies.
  24. I enjoyed the storytelling in Bioshock. I thought all the audio tapes did a great job of creating an atmosphere. I just couldn't take the gameplay, it bored me to death.
