  1. I've heard a lot of good stuff about it. Is this the Butcher Bay team? I'll probably pick it up over the holidays.
  2. This sounds fantastic! Let me just turn this thing o-
  3. Awesome, missed this gem earlier! Lee Harvey Oswald emigrated to Russia. But he wasn't happy with the fact they made him a common workman or something, so he complained until they sent him back to the US.
  4. If North Korea is such a nice place, why are there so many North Koreans trying to get out of the country? It's a simple formula, people try to sneak into good countries and out of bad ones.
  5. Jagged Alliance 2.
  6. I'd say the wishy-washy stuff is the real issue, it isn't just Packer fans, it seems like a large part of the media is down on him. It does make some sense, he's turning into the boy who cried wolf with his retirement stuff. But as a player, I think he can help quite a few teams. Minny didn't have a good quarterback situation to begin with, and if Favre plays like he did at the start of last season, then it is an upgrade for them.
  7. It... did? Like what? Seriously, Infinity Engine games may be in 2D, but they look a hell of a lot better than NWN1. People were able to do some pretty amazing things with the NWN toolset graphically. I found many mods to be fairly stunning.
  8. Morrowind was the big one I was referring to. The big deal with Morrowind was that FPS games were king at the time, and Morrowind was really the only non-shooter that was competing with the FPS games on a graphical level. NWN came out at the same time, which had it's charms graphically, but it wasn't going to be confused with any FPS games.
  9. I guess that it's just personal preference. For my money, it doesn't get much better than Bull Durham, The Postman, Field of Dreams, and Dances with Wolves. I just don't think Michael Madsen is anywhere near the same league as Costner.
  10. You guys really are not very good at appreciation threads. Bioware - When I found out that I was an evil sith lord in KotOR, I was taken completely by surprise. Bravo! I look forward to Dragon Age, I am sure I will devour it like every other Bioware title. Bioware is one of the only companies that consistently lets me avoid fighting in their games by having a high speech skill, and that rocks. Bethesda - Daggerfall was one of the first games that really made me feel like I was living in a virtual world. It was my first really satisfying sandbox game. There was a time when RPG's and top of the line graphics only met in Bethesda titles, and I would say they forced other developers to rise to the challenge. Fallout 3 was a blast!
  11. Yeah... And if i put my kitten into microwave to dry it out, it's the fault of the manufacturer, that they did not put in the manual, that drying kittens in their product might kill them... LOL This is really a terrible analogy. First off, you leave a cow grazing outside and it gets killed by a tornado. That is the tornado's fault. Sure, you could place SOME blame on yourself, but you could also blame the cow, or the grass for being in the path of a tornado. You did not create the tornado. Then you put this microwaved kitten analogy out there. In that situation, the manufacturer would be akin to the developer, the kitten is the game, and the person is the gamer. How does that support your point about developers and DRM? And how does any of this apply to your cracking issues? edit: I just noticed Purkake was the cow analogy. I'm beginning to hate analogies.
  12. Madsen isn't that good, he's just been giving a couple roles that fit his demeanor perfectly. Costner deserves a lot more credit because he actually writes roles for his character (actually I'd say there is a big difference between his baseball guy character and his Mr. Brooks serial killer.)
  13. No, the tornado is at fault. I'l throw out that there is no justification for piracy ever. You are stealing something that people put their blood, sweat, and tears into, and you are a bad person because of it. That is not an opinion, that is reality.
  14. I tried this Samuel Adams Cherry Wheat Beer last night. It tastes a bit like cough syrup. I think I'm going to get that Beer of the Month club membership, then start a thread chronicling my experience with the different drafts. I'll wait until after my birthday ext week, I dropped hints to my wife about it so we'll see if she takes them.
  15. I reached the city in my game of Baldur's Gate. Kivan and Viconia don't seem to be getting along, I'm wondering if it will come to blows. Viconia rocks, but I do have two clerics (Branwen) so I might have to side with Kivan. I'm keeping Xan as my mage, and boy is he tough to keep alive. He gains like 1 hp each level. I ended up in Candlekeep at level 4, which was a mistake. I think I'll find an earlier save and tool around BG some more before heading into the later chapters.
  16. We've been working on that with my daughter. We've got it so she she will go once a day or so, but when we give her pull-ups she never lets us know she has to pee. So basically we have to let her run around naked. It's quite a hassle.
  17. I hate the balance arguments, I think they ruin classes. Not because they nerf folks, but because eventually everyone ends up the same. That is super boring. I think you should play the class that you enjoy and forget about min/maxing. Blizzard definitely caters to the PvP crowd, which I think is a bad idea. I'm guessing maybe 20% of the playerbase does PvP on a regular basis.
  18. You aren't going to be able to return it, Walmart does not take back opened software, it is in their return policy. I believe it is about 1.5 gigs to patch from Wrath of the Lich King. Unfortunately I just checked and you do need to buy the original WoW and the Burning Crusade to play WotLK. You can get the Battlechest, which has the first expansion, for about $40. Then WotLK is another $40. But you might just want to wait, I imagine they'll release another Battle Chest with both expansions eventually. How come you are on dial-up anyways? Unless you are in the country, like me, DSL and cable are just a few bucks more a month.
  19. I think it's lame that they won't take risks adding new classes. Death Knight was a neat idea, but it's still a bit of a cop out.
  20. I'd rather spend $50 and save myself 400 hours of frustrated downloading. Plus you get a free month with it, so that gives him a bit more time to decide if he likes it. I've heard of quite a few people playing WoW on dial-up. If he's not used to high speed, it probably won't be too bothersome. Sure, the end game raids won't be any good for him, but the majority of WoW players never see that stuff anyways.
  21. I actually looked that up thinking there was some comedian named Carolla Era. Then I realized you meant Adam Carolla. Did you ever see his boxer movie? It was pretty good. But You Don't Mess with the Zohan was a different type of comedy, it was pure slapstick. Everything was exaggerated. It was like Hot Shots or Naked Gun.
  22. I think breakfast is more a definition of the type of food you are eating. Like if he had pancakes or eggs, or a bowl of cereal, I'd say he ate breakfast. Sometimes I skip breakfast and eat a sandwich at around 11:00. I call it lunch, as is proper.
  23. My concern for him with the trial is he would have to download the entire client, which is upwards of 10 gigs. If he buys the most recent expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, he gets 30 days for free with the price of the game, and he would only have to update it minimally by installing off the discs.
  24. I disagree. I second Oerwinde's disagreement. Best Adam Sandler movie since Happy Gilmore.
  25. Heart of China was a great adventure game, as was all the Dynamix games. Willy Beamish anyone?
