New Mass Effect 2 character
You could crouch in Mass Effect? Huh, I never noticed. Of course, I didn't pay much attention to the combat, it really wasn't why I played the game.

Dragon Age Origins
I really like the two dwarf story lines, but I typically play human. We'll see, still one left to go.

It's called denial. A scalding hot shower won't wash away the shame. She will just do it again to some other innocent ship captain.

I'm a fan of the jury system, but it isn't infallible.

Didn't the guy have insurance though? I mean, he's dealing with explosives professionally, I would think he would have some form of insurance. It just doesn't make sense to me, his insurance company should be handling everything and pursuing legal action against China. I doubt he would have much luck if the company weren't in China, to be honest, although they might settle to save face.

Our closest ally stabs us in the back
I don't really know much about the case. Was he clearly guilty? I know he was tried and all, but I thought I heard there was some evidence that was iffy.

Maybe its just me, but it seemed pretty obvious listening to dialogue around the plaza, in the consort's offices, reading about the Asari on the information kiosks and reading in the menu encyclopedia what would happen if a PC expressed disappointment with the reward. So you are saying he was asking for it?

While I think fireworks are stupid and I don't have much sympathy for the victim, I can see where this would be a much larger issue.

That's why it is called the HIGHER GROUND.

I think the Americans complaining about this need a lesson in taking the higher ground. The guy is going to die in a few weeks.

NHL
Correct me if I'm wrong here, but in the NHL is it true that only the team Captain can speak/argue with the referees? Yes, but I've never seen a ref reverse a call, so I wouldn't call that crucial.

What you did today
My daughter is 2 and 4 months old. Somehow she managed to turn on my laptop and start up the game Spore, and is now tapping away at it. It's a bit frightening.

The whole captaincy thing is about trying to shake the team up enough to play better in the playoffs. It's an odd situation really, I think it's more about looking for a scapegoat. The fact that Marleau isn't pissed off and asking for a trade speaks well of his attitude. Although maybe he needs to be more of a son of a bitch to be an effective captain. I don't know, it's the only sport where being a captain seems important, nobody even cares about football and baseball team captains.

Star Trek online
*cough* Fallout *cough* Yeah, they really screwed that one up, getting rave reviews and pulling in tons of cash. The horror! Oblivion got rave reviews and tons of cash. Yes it did. You see, the reality is that Oblivion and Fallout are good games. They might not be your cup of tea, but they have a large audience that knows what to expect out of a Bethesda title and that is delivered to them. Personally, I found Oblivion to be uninspired, but it was still playable and gave me a few decent hours of entertainment. But that is my personal opinion, and it is healthy to be able to separate my opinion from the reality of a situation. For example, I don't enjoy going to see Operas, but I'm not going to call Les Miserable terrible. They just aren't my thing.

Publisher's are only blamed when games are rushed. Those ST games seemed to be crap through and through. Bethesda has stated before that they aren't going to try developing games too far out of their realm. That's why I'm not worried about the next Doom turning into Oblivion with imps...er...BFG's.

Baseball!
Yep. Randy Johnson had a winning record when he went on the DL list. I think Zito is still the highest paid pitcher on the team though. He's been solid this year, just not getting the run support.

NHL
Well, Ottawa isn't in a good spot here, as Heatley has made it very clear he wants out, and with his no trade clause he can nix most teams that would offer much. So SJ isn't going to offer Marleau easily. Originally I thought Cheechoo and Ehrhoff, and maybe a prospect, would be good enough. Now I'm thinking Cheechoo, a 1st rounder (they just got one from Vancouver) and maybe someone else. Marleau for Heatley is a fairly even trade. He may not have Heatley's numbers, but Marleau is a pretty amazing player and he is a consummate team guy, a big change from Heatley.

Hopefully, but I am a bit concerned that Heatley is on the downside of his career. Time will tell, I guess. I wonder who they will give up. I don't think it's Marleau, at least the front office is playing it close to the chest if it is him. My guess is Cheechoo and someone else, maybe Michalek. Of course they could go another direction completely and not get Heatley at all, who knows! I really expected this to happen in July.

Yeah, no, not really. They were basically the same game. And if you are named Darth, you are probably biased towards the Star Wars universe, so you might want to keep that in mind when judging the two.

SJ shipped Ehrhoff and Lukowich to the Canucks, interesting. Ehrhoff makes 3 million a season, so it definitely clears space. He has great speed, but he misses the net like crazy when he releases his shot. I'm actually more upset about Lukowich, he is a very solid stay at home D-man with a low price tag. I'm definitely interested to see what happens next, should be interesting. That Mike Komisarek video was hilarious
