  1. That's why I play on easy. I love easy mode.
  2. You can play games in the 8-10 year old range. Those are pretty low specs. I haven't seen a Pentium 3 chip in a long time. Does XP run well on it?
  3. How old is Junior? I'd recommend a Wii if he is under 12, it's family fun system and there are a lot of great titles for that younger age range. But I'm guessing you are looking for a more beefy system, so... I've owned both the 360 and the PS3. I loved them both. But I would steer you towards the PS3 at this time for a few reasons. 1. Do you own a decent gaming PC? If you do, most 360 titles are also available on the PC. 2. Hardware failures are terribly common for the 360. I went through 3 systems. Everyone here seems to have lost at least one 360 to failure. 3. Blu-Ray player is on the PS3. You are getting a new TV, and it will be nice to have the option to play Blu-Ray discs. It really looks fantastic. 4. PS3 is slightly better hardware, so the lifespan of the system will probably be longer. If you want to go with one console this is a big plus. Heck, the PS2 still has games coming out on it. 5. The PS3 game catalogue is just starting to hit its stride, whereas the 360 doesn't have too many exclusives in the pipeline that aren't on the PC as well. 6. I think they just cut the price, so it is not really much more that than the 360. The weakest link on the PS3 is the multiplayer support/community. It's not terrible, but the 360 is fantastic and has a lot of built in neat stuff like Netflix (which is actually available on the PS3 but requires some software.) So if you want to play online with friends, it really comes down to what your friends have. There isn't a bad decision here though, all three consoles are very solid products. Enjoy!
  4. Gosh, there are so many it's hard to choose. In college, I'd have to say Goldeneye was my favorite game. We would have 4-player matches on the N64 for hours at a time. I used to take it to the common area of our dorm and we'd have crowds of 30 people watching. Asheron's Call was my first real MMO love, and I will always look back on that fondly. It was the first time I developed friendships with people online. I still wonder what happened to those guys, I hope they are all doing well.
  5. It is probably for the best that she doesn't buy the game, she needs to get back in the kitchen and make my dinner. It's ok people, I'm married, I'm allowed to make sexist jokes.

  7. Fahrenheit/Indigo Prophecy sold like 800,000 copies, which is gigantic for an adventure game. Sure, it had issues, but it was unique and it sold fantastically. That just doesn't spell failure for me. And for me, the first half of the game was such a breath of fresh air that I am willing to overlook the lame ending.
  8. Does anyone know how well NWN2 sold? I know it was an established IP, but I imagine AP can reach similar numbers. I've also seen a fair amount of advertising, and some word of mouth. It's pretty popular in Game Informer magazine.

Yep, that was awesome. I love games that reward you for not being a mass murderer.
  11. How many is that now? Are you ready to join me over on the the PS3? NHL10 is coming out soon
  12. Well, there is probably a leader between the two. The trick is finding out who it is, because he is most likely never going to be anything but trouble. The follower can be rehabilitated.
  13. Are we really just talking about low magic settings?
  14. Well, I can't compare Bioshock to SS2. But I can say that Fallout 3 captured the Fallout universe extremely well for me.
  15. Actually, that sounds like Robert Jordan's books.
  16. When I sleep on my stomach, sometimes I get freaked out like I can't breath. I start kicking my legs and my wife usually wakes me up enough to roll over.
  17. Mount & Blade is low fantasy, no magic whatsoever.
  18. NHL

I don't know, it is the worst job in hockey, but it is still hockey. It's like that saying about bad sex.
  19. I've never understood the story complaint with MMO's. Turbine has always really engaged me with the story of their worlds. Asheron's Call had all sorts of great lore, you just had to go a bit out of the way to find it. Asheron's Call 2 really only had one cool thing, and that was cinematic chapters that you got to see after finishing the major dungeons. And Lord of the Rings Online has done nothing but enhance my enjoyment of Tolkien's work. It just take longer to unfold the story than RPG's and adventure games, because they are designed to be played over years, not weeks.
  20. Raiding guilds are way too serious for me. Comparing it to a sport is very accurate.
  21. I think I heard something about Tunnel Rats being pretty average, which is a gigantic step forward for Uwe Boll.
  22. Really? Huh, I'm not sure if the ones around me have them, I haven't seen any. I've seen the compilation books that cover an entire series, but never single issue comics.
  23. My Baldur's gate game is coming the a conclusion. I'm only at level 5 though, as is my party of Imoen, Xan, Branwen, Viconia, and some elf ranger. Im guessing I'll gain another level during the final stuff (if I return to BG I get arrested) but I'm not sure if that is good enough for making the jump to BG2. Ah well, I'm bored walking around the countryside. I also bought Madden 10. It's not all that exciting, to be honest, the be a pro mode is lacking compared to other sports games. I'll probably get into the franchise mode when football starts for real though.
  24. Link didn't work, but I really doubt there is any project surrounding those images. They just seem like cool sketches, I doubt they'd get money to do a post apoc. Disney game.
