  1. The ending of The Machinist is worth the wait, I wasn't quite expecting it to end the way it did.
  2. I thought Doom 3 was decent. It was more a victim of the fact that a lot of people have been making these FPS 'go into a base and fight stuff' games and there was nothing to really separate it from the crowd, other than the fact you couldn't put a flashlight on your gun. Rage looks great though, I'll pick it up down the road probably.
  3. Hell's Kitchen is a great train wreck reality show. They take mediocre chef's and lambaste them basically.
  4. I decided to look up Vick's stats. I'm not really sure he's all that good of a QB. I don't see how he is better than McNabb.
  5. So is it safe to say the once weak NL west is one of the best divisions in baseball? Nah, it's still pretty weak, other than the Dodgers the teams all have some pretty serious flaws. The Giants have very little power in the line up. I don't know enough about Colorado to say how good they are.
  6. Playing Baldur's Gate. I forgot how slow the leveling, and how much I enjoyed it. Heading into the Nashkell mines at level 1, yee haw!
  7. I'm glad the Giants salvaged a win off the Dodgers, Lincecum looked good striking out Manny at one point.
  8. I didn't even have internet access back then, you people are all old. Gina, what is your avatar from?
  9. I agree with Gfted on the extinction issue. My wife spent a year in Japan and she said the whale meat is so ridiculously expensive that only the very wealthy buy it. I'm not really sure how I feel about it, I see both sides having some legitimate concerns.
  10. I'm a little surprised at the negativity over a webcomic. I respect anyone who does one, even if it isn't my cup of tea. It takes work and the odds of finding success doing them are seriously minuscule. That being said, I didn't even notice xkcd had a community. He rarely updates his news page.
  11. I think tl means talk less. Maybe LoF isn't so much a troll as just an immensely unhappy and negative person.
  12. History is filled with men (and maybe a few women) who achieved greatness, and at the same time were absolute monsters.
  13. I ordered Baldur's Gate off Amazon so I look forward to playing that in a couple days. It comes with Tales of the Sword Coast, which I never played, so I'm interested in seeing that.
  14. I agree with the Sanitarium sentiments. Winback - One of the first games to usea cover system, probably one of the best games I played on the N64.
  15. Didn't Medal of Honor come before Call of Duty? Definitely a good list though, people can argue about the order, but other than maybe Crysis (it is an amazing engine) most of those games deserve a place in any top game list.
  16. That's actually a pretty good summary of what happened on these forums after Obsidian announce FO:NV
  17. If Hitler had not gone to war with Russia in the first place, it would have been a very different war. That was a choice he made, and if I remember correctly, quite a few of his advisers said it was too soon to do so.
  18. I just finished Fallout 1, it had been about a decade since I last played it. I'm now playing Fallout 2. They are great games. But they aren't perfect. They have some big flaws, and they even have stuff I really dislike. I can take out a guy's best friend in Fallout, then ask him about it, and he gives me the same line as he did before. There were a lot of situations like that in Fallout, where I did something big that I thought would affect people's reaction, but they didn't change at all. So despite the flaws, they are great, and so was Fallout 3. Yeah, it had flaws, but it also had strengths, and I'm not sure why fans of 1 & 2 need to tear it down.
  19. Um, NMA is not objective. They made up their mind on Fallout 3 before it was ever released.
  20. I find it fairly interesting. The original FF Online (stupid numbering systems) was fantastic. It had some things I didn't like, but the look and feel of the game were top notch. It's not a game I will buy at release, but I'll probably give it a whirl some day when I'm in a dry spell.
  21. They died. I sense a great disturbance in the force, like dozens of crazed fans all screaming out at once.
  22. Damn, I just don't get why we can't get another game like Xcom?
  23. And MMO's sell very well on the PC :D
  24. Yeah, I guess I wouldn't really call the RPG genre weak. It has been a pretty good couple years and it seems to be getting better. There is a focus on making console friendly games, which I know bothers quite a few people, but as long as they are good I don't care what system they are on. How come no one argues that MMO's are killing the RTS genre? Warcraft wasn't ever an RPG.
