The save system is pretty lame. It's not even very clear when you reach a checkpoint. Alas, if that is the only flaw, I'm still pretty happy.

Have you tried Spiderweb's games? They are old school RPG's. As I said earlier, just because you don't like the direction RPG's are moving, doesn't mean they aren't RPG's. Genre's change over time, you can either embrace that or find a different hobby. Complaining about it is a waste of time and will not change anything, because it is the sales that drive the direction of a genre.

My former students have an assignment where they have to interview a teacher about the American Dream. I gave real answers for the first interview, but for each subsequent student I've been radically changing my ideology. So I went hardline communist for one, trying to recall all of Lord of Flies propaganda, then I went redneck and talked about the right to bear arms and protect my land from government interference, and lastly I went conservative Christian and talked about family values. It's been fun, I'm not sure what ideology to adopt next.

Actually I agree with Volo's main argument, and alanschu seems to as well. But sometimes he argues with us even when we agree with him, so it's not always worth it to jump in and side with him. I have no idea why he spends so much time here, since he seems to dislike everybody here.

The RPG genre isn't dying or dead. On the contrary, it has been strengthening of late thanks to the success of titles like Fallout 3, The Witcher, and Mass Effect. It just might not be going in a direction you like. And the MMO genre really has no influence on the RPG genre, don't try and fool yourselves. Sure, a single property might decide to go a different direction and publish an MMO. But nobody complains that WoW killed the RTS genre because that is a dumb argument, and so is blaming MMO's for a lack of RPG's.

I'm actually a bit surprised they are calling it a NWN MMO. NWN is kind of an odd franchise, it's not like you have established characters or a connected storyline between the first two games. They shared gameplay style and the toolset for the most part, and that was it. Why don't they just call it Forgotten Realms or something?

I liked it, but I would put it below Kill Bill on my QT favorite list. I'd probably put Reservoir Dogs higher too. I think it honestly needed more Brad Pitt.

I love taking my time in each area and just watching the thugs freak out. The Joker has a ton of great taunts over the intercom, and as I pick them off one by one, it's just hilarious to watch their pulses quicken.

Batman looks great on my PS3, but it only runs in 720p for some reason.

If your 360 gets a red ring of death, which is the most common failure, Microsoft sends you a fed-ex box. You pack it up, put it in the mail (free of charge) and they send you a refurbished one in a couple weeks. It's pretty painless, unless you are a crazy person who can't handle being without a console for a few weeks (which seem to be all over the MS forums.)

It's a little early to compare it to other titles. While I imagine it will copy some of the more successful elements of WoW, I'd look at Champions Online and DDO for a better estimate of its direction.

Might & Magic is a good example of that. Ultima Online didn't kill the Ultima series, they released Ultima 9 and it sucked.

I had two die on me and I ever regretted buying the console, so take that for what it is worth. When working, it is a fantastic machine. But hey, if you are a PC user, you should be used to hardware failures. Seriously, the 360 is only disappointing compared to other consoles. Compared to PC's it's the status quo.

This isn't going to stop the NWN MMO in anyway, that isn't Turbine's objective. The NWN MMO is clearly years away from any sort of release, so Turbine isn't looking to get it shut down, at least according to that article. Turbine is going after Atari for a lack of support for their current title and the fact that they are trying to get money out of Turbine over the license.
