Their whole relationship with Sega seemed to be such a disaster, much more so than anything else they've done, that it is hard for me to believe that Sega wasn't a major contributor to the whole mess. I wasn't present when they developed it at Obsidian, I don't know who to blame. Plus, despite its flaws, I personally enjoyed the game quite a lot. But you can't deny it's going to be much more prominent in Obsidian's portfolio compared to SEGA's. I am willing to admit AP is a black mark, even though I enjoyed it a ton, but reputations have a lot to do with what you did most recently, and the damage of AP was almost immediately wiped out by the release of FO:NV. It was well reviewed and it sold very well. In fact, i'd say Obsidian is in their strongest position ever right now. Now if DS3 does badly, they lose all that.

I am very impressed with the business model of Obsidian, they are always lining up new projects and they've gone to multiple publishers to stay active. If anything, Troika was the polar opposite. Game design, I do see the similarities. But I loved the troika stable of games after they were patched, so no problems there.

If you have a bard or rogue, can't they use staffs and scrolls to cast pretty much the same stuff as a wizard?

I agree with Volourn, Arcanum is a fantastic game with flawed combat.

I spent about an hour bitching at my cable company because the game wasn't being broadcast. I'm listening on the radio now. JOEY PAVS Sweet! That's his 3rd OT Goal of his career.

I'm so tired of D&D at this point, I think we got enough games set in the Forgotten Realms over the years. I'll petition for the next Quest for Glory, since that actually worked back in the day.

Well, I did say Nintendo would probably have a next gen machine coming out soon. I still think Sony and Microsoft are a long ways off. Of course it is almost like Nintendo is in a different industry nowadays.

I'm pretty sure that is more of an indicator of the Michigan economy than anything against the Wings.

I know I'm old, because when I hear Shryke's stories, I just think about how long my body would take to recover from the drinking and the steak at 6 AM. Also, I'm pretty sure getting undressed by two topless girls is cheating, but maybe I'm a bit conservative.

Aye, after seeing that I'm not really expecting anything from that game. Yeah, that didn't look good. I was giving this new team the benefit of the doubt, but it is starting to look like another weak attempt at turning JA2 into a RT game. I don't really get the aversion to TB combat developers have. Civ 5, HoMM, and King's Bounty have all shown that there is success to be had using turn-based mechanics.

Just got to Act 4 in Risen. I'm trying to finish it up, since the sequel doesn't seem to far off. I really enjoy the combat and story in this game.

I played through Arcanum a couple of years ago with a fan made patch that increased the resolution and a few other things. it was also way more stable than when I first bought it. It was a great experience, one of the best RPG play-throughs I've ever had. The character design was awesomely realized. So I'd say Arcanum just suffered from what many huge RPG's do, they are buggy messes that take years to clean up. Still, it doesn't have the name power that Fallout had, so I doubt we will see a team revive it. We are more likely to see a similar Steampunk IP that pays a bit of homage to it than anything else.

I've always enjoyed Leo as an actor. Catch Me If You Can was superb, he's had a few other Oscar worthy performances like Basketball Diaries and The Aviator (although I agree it was a boring story, he played the part well.) I'm surprised at all the Leo haters here. He's also just been in some very entertaining movies, like The Departed, Blood Diamond, Shutter Island, and Inception. Now that I think about the whole Scorsese angle, maybe people are just bothered that he isn't Robert De Niro. But I'll take him over Ray Liotta any day of the week.

Is that another way of saying the early worm gets the bird?

More like "Direct to Video"

Ok, here we go: Caps in 5 - I haven't had a chance to watch either team much, but it seems like the caps have overcome their weaknesses with the second half of the season. Flyers in 7 - The Flyers will stretch it out, but Ryan Miller would need to be superman to win the series. Bruins in 5 - I love the B's. Lightning in 7 - the lightning made the playoffs? Blackhawks in 7 - this is a terrible draw for a dominant team. I want vancouver to win, but they have choked too many times. San jose in 5 - I know I am biased, but the sharks usually coast to the second round before a meltdown. The only first round loss in recent years was against a ducks team that was barely removed from winning the cup. The kings lack the experience and scoring punch. Coyotes in 6 - I am gambling here on this one. Plus I want as many pacific division teams in the next round as I can get. Ducks in 5 - nashville got a bad draw here, the preds struggle enough in the playoffs without going against the hottest team in the league.

You didn't say a plumber or an electrician, you said a builder, who has a pretty large role in the construction of the house and is going to have a decent understanding of how to use space and such. I think we can move away from the analogy, it really isn't the point here. I just don't get the need to jump all over Nightshape about it. It seemed like a grossly overblown reaction. Sure, Nightshape comes across as a bit pompous, but so does mkreku, so what's the big deal? I actually disagree with Nightshape on the whole thing too. But I'm not really looking at the game from a technical standpoint, so I'm not going to get all aggro about it.

So you think your opinion is worth more because of your job? How conceited can one get? Please, tell us, how long have you worked in this field to gain this awesome knowledge that none of us plebeians can touch? Ten years? 20? I think you're a ****ing programmer with less than 5 years in the industry. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not interested in taking art advice from you. I value the opinion of a mechanic on cars more than someone who drives them. That sounds pretty reasonable. Sure, but would you take interior decoration advice from a builder who tells you your home looks like ****? He can't tell you why but he is a professional who might have spoken to a number a interior decorators so just trust him okay. I would value their opinion more than someone who doesn't work on houses at all. It doesn't mean I have to agree with it or anything, but there is a certain amount of logic to it.

Technically you are a pretty dang powerful Sith lord in KotOR, even though you don't know it at the start. Personally I really enjoy the whole path from the gutter to greatness story.

I didn't mind all the naked Nicole Kidman in Eyes Wide Shut from Kubrick.

Sorry, I've been busy. You are playing it wrong and you are just generally stupid

Your fingers will hurt less and less as you develop callouses on your finger tips Is my guitar a decent one? Seems solid and sounds nice to me but I know next to nothing about such things. I don't know much about Yamahas but it should be fine for what you're doing. Good guitars are overrated. I started learning last November. The callouses will come, with my schedule I can only practice like an hour or two a day, so it never got too painful. It has been harder trying to build the muscles needed to do bar chords. I've been doing these youtube lessons by a guy named Marty Schwartz, it has been very educational. I like it better than the CD that came with my guitar.
