    There are an estimated 3 million illegal immigrants in California, so I guarantee you've had more encounters than just that one if you are in the LA area. Here is a good article on what undocumented workers actually do to our economy. It isn't a black and white issue.

    Speaking of the motion control, it was a huge pain in the rear to find a regular controller for the Wii U and not one of those lame wiimotes. I ended up buying a knockoff a Walmart that is working pretty well, and eventually they are releasing a Gamecube style controller with Super Smash Bros.

    yup. jennifer connelly. she looks so young in that pic, but in our defense, that were 1991 and in 1991, Gromnir were much younger too. HA! Good Fun! Hey, at least you didn't post a pic of her in Labyrinth. She was only 15 there.

    Leo Dicaprio was never a bad actor though. It was pretty clear from The Basketball Diaries and What's Eating Gilbert Grape that he had the chops. Megan Fox seems like a nice person and all, she's got a bit of a geeky streak that makes her more likeable, but I wouldn't put money on her learning how to act.

    The Golden Door is really only available to people with enough gold to make their own, nowadays. Except it is our concern, for a number of economic reasons. It is easily in our best interests to have our southern neighbors be as stable as our northern neighbor.

    Honestly I can't name many good movies from this year, so it's not hard to put Guardians up near the top.

    Yay, I got a new copy of Mario Kart due to some great Gamestop customer service. My local shop was useless as usual, but thankfully I bought the game at a bigger store down the road and they were great. Almost enough to erase a bit of my bitterness about their PC selection. I guess I'll be playing Wasteland soon, but how beta is it? I don't really like betas for single player games.

    Wow, I completely agree with Volourn. Charlize Theron is easily the best actress available for this part, and as long as they focus on her, it will be fantastic. She is stunning, but it is way more than the looks. There just aren't that many women that can dominate the screen like she can. I expect Tom Hardy to play second fiddle to her, and that is for the best.

    My son, who is 4, is still a work in progress. Got the number one thing down, but two has not been pretty.

    I call Lego City Undercover Lego GTA, it's very similar. I put a call in to Gamestop about my broken Mario Kart. If I'd had it for a couple months, I wouldn't bother, but I am surprised how easily it broke pulling it out of the case. My son has been pulling games out of PS3 cases for awhile now and never had this problem, although I still made it very clear to him what he did wrong. The guy at Gamestop is going to check with his manager, but I'm not holding my breath. I may be sticking with digital purchases for now on, although I'll need a bigger hard drive.

    That didn't last long, my son just broke Mario Kart pulling it out of the case.

    I bought the Wii U, mostly for Mario Kart. I also bought a couple wiimotes, but they were terrible and I returned them. All the Pro controllers were sold out, but at Walmart I found a decent knockoff so the kids could play two player mario kart. I also picked up Lego Grand Theft Auto, and my son is enjoying jacking cars and crashing into things.

    I just got back from Vegas, it was a fantastic trip. My wife of 12 years continues to amaze me. I lost a bit of money at the tables, so the last night my wife and I played this Lord of the Rings penny slot machine. It was entertaining, at one point I was down to my last few bucks and I hit this long string of bonus spins that played a bunch of movies. It ended up paying me about $30, which really just evened out what I had already lost, but the entertainment factor was great.

    Giants are starting to get healthy again, so hopefully they can get a strong push for the playoffs. Angel Pagan makes such a huge difference for this team. It's also looking like they found a decent 2nd baseman in Joe Panik. But I thought that bout Brandon HIcks for a couple of months, so I'm not going to put any money on it.

    I spent $275 on dinner at a french restaurant, it was worth it.

    Heh, my wife got that escort look from some family in the elevator last night. Here is a tip, dont bring your kids to Vegas! We also saw some couple having sex in the pool yesterday, so again, leave your kids at home. At least it was a 21 and over pool.

    Why the heck did they implement some boring slot machine game in the casinos, and not something decently entertaining like pazaak? I am so perplexed by the design decisions on this game.

    To TN and Gorgon: I saw Guardians of the Galaxy and it was the best Marvel movie ever. Bradley Cooper doesn't sound anything like himself though. My favorite line:

    Can you link to it? I don't remember anything called Arial and it isn't coming up... Wait, found it, Areal. It looks like Forbes scooped you a month ago though. And clearly Kickstarter itself believed you enough to suspend the project, so keep fighting the good fight!

    I love Tahoe. TN, it's the largest Alpine lake in North America! Just make sure you swim in it, now is the perfect time to do so because it will not be freezing. Also I've never understood the appeal of boating on the lake, it's best experienced without an engine. The casinos are pretty lame, although you can get some good bang for your buck at the restaurants. There is really a ton to do there. Which area are you staying at? I've spent most of my time at Incline Village, which is really nice. Last year I stayed at Meeks Bay and it was perfect, not too crowded and beautiful.
