  1. I did! I know I had a couple glasses of the Black Label Nobu. I'm fairly new to the whole process, but the waiter did a good job of explaining it all and helping us pair with our food. It didn't hit me very hard though, I'm not sure if it was all the food or if I just have a good tolerance for it.
  2. I've been thinking about my trip to Vegas last week, and I thought I'd post a few highlights. We ate very well. Nobu - This was our expensive dinner out to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday. We did the Chef's Choice menu, and I ordered a couple different types of sake to compliment it. It was a crazy amount of food, I want to say about 9 courses served. My highlight was the Black Cod, while my wife loved the plate with 4 different types of tuna sushi. By the end I was ready to explode. It was very expensive. Giada's - This italian restaurant is in the beautiful Cromwell hotel and casino, and is the only one that Giada De Laurentis has a hand in. I'm a big fan of hers, so I had a blast. The food was really good, the serving sizes were just right, and we had a great view of the strip from our seats. I want to go back here next time. Price wise it was reasonable too. Rose. Rabbit. Lie. - I wanted to go here as soon as I saw the name. It did not disappoint. It is inside the Cosmopolitan, a newer and trendier casino on the strip. We ended up the The Study, which was lined with books and records. You could pick out a record and they would actually play it for you. There were hidden doors that would take you to different rooms, and they were all very unique. There was a cabaret type room and a blue club type room that I saw. The Study was perfect for our quiet date. We had a few creative ****tails and then ordered a bunch of small plates to share. There were tiny caviar tacos, rabbit fricassee, bacon brussel sprouts, and foie gras. We ended it with a creative drumstick ice cream dessert that had gold flakes on top and peanut butter and the bottom. The food was amazing and creative, and this was my favorite dining experience. It was also not too expensive, particularly compared to a place like Nobu. Highly recommended if you end up in Vegas.
  3. I'll root for Curry since he looks like a middle schooler compared to Lebron.
  4. It'll be ok, it's not like comedies are going down the drain... *watches 2 broke girls* ...well ****. At least we still have Brooklyn Nine Nine... *looks fearfully at Fox* Brooklyn Nine Nine is definitely my favorite now. I keep watching Marry Me and hoping it will get funnier. It has the cast. New Girl is still pretty awesome too. Looks like Fox will control comedy in the future.
  5. Parks and Rec is over.
  6. I am really thankful I am not as perceptive as you twist predictors. What a tough way to go through life.
  7. I'd say GSW has more depth, although I don't know enough about the Cavs to really say for sure.
  8. Yeah, I didn't see the twist coming at all. It was an awesome and huge shocker for me. Probably one of my top moments in gaming.
  9. Hah, I talked about that crazy Budweiser commercial with a small brewer last week. Craft beer is doing great, but it still is only at about an 8% market share of overall beer sales. That commercial came off like they are backed into a corner or something. Also, Budweiser makes plenty of fruity stuff, they own Shock Top and have a hand in a few others, they just don't get the ratings of the serious craft breweries.
  10. Oh man, I had a terribly hard decision to weigh last night. As a young trooper, I had a fun fling with a sassy girl named Jaxo. Time went by (literally years) and I got into a relationship with one of my crew named Elara, who was a bit frosty but eventually warmed up to me. Then came a mission where of course they made me choose between saving Jaxo or saving about 300 soldiers. I couldn't abandon Jaxo, so now I'm in trouble with both command and the gf. This dang game!
  11. Lego Movie was my top pick for any genre, it was amazing. It totally got shafted by the award shows.
  12. That's pretty much the mission statement of my history classes. Despite that, students are constantly trying to get by with rote memorization. I suppose it is easier than thinking critically about events.
  13. My son absolutely loves Olaf. He's really the comedic relief, and the best song revolves around his character.
  14. Might have something to do with the crazy steroid abuse and doping. Being a professional athlete has absolutely nothing to do with being healthy. Or the brain damage they get from ramming into each other, or the massive amount of painkillers they live off to dull the pain. But that's really only a few sports, many professional athletes do live long and healthy lives.
  15. It's not magic, it's a highly effective strategy that rewards discipline and hard work with a better quality of life as you age.
  16. I own both Frozen and Tangled and have never actually watched them in full. There are some parts that catch my interest when the kids are watching them, but I don't think they are really geared for the mid 30's male demographic. Wreck it Ralph and Big Hero 6, on the other hand, are in my wheelhouse. They are amazing.
  17. Just because you are the Master Race, doesn't mean no one else needs it. Yikes, I almost missed that gem with Volo on ignore! I'm going to go out on a limb and assume most of us know that you can be skinny and still be in terrible health.
  18. So are they corrupt because their gameplay isn't fun?
  19. Jason Momoa looks way more like The Sub Mariner than Aquaman, but I'm still excited for him.
  20. Just let him down easy Calax.
  21. So Vegas was amazing and our last night was an epic culmination of events. I was a bit worse for the wear heading to the airport, and then I ate a sandwich that just murdered my stomach. I threw up on the plane, on the ride home, and off and on all last night. I'm finally starting to recover. Ugh. I still have diarrhea. I'll post more ruminations when I feel better.
  22. We listened to records of Johnny Cash and Nina Simoneon a real record player. You could peruse the shelves of the study and pick them out. So Willie Dynamite would probably fit right in.
  23. My wife and I had something called a Suiss Abyss last night, it was amazing. Kubler Absinthe, Creme de Cacao, cream, and grated swiss chocolate.
  24. Rose. Rabbit. Lie. was the most amazing restaurant I have ever been too. Unique plates, amazing drinks, hidden rooms, and huge fur covered chairs.
  25. There has been this weird backlash going on against fit people lately though, like that mom who had the no excuses campaign. The whole fat shaming thing makes no sense to me. If you see someone super fit and you feel bad about it, that is your conscience working correctly.
