Not really. There is way more complaining about trigger warnings here than anyone requesting trigger warnings. Actually I can't think of a single poster who is actively advocating for trigger warnings. Find me a post where someone is like "Guys we need more trigger warnings!" Instead you have people complaining about the warnings existing, and other posters defending their existence. Very different things. They are really only brought up on these forums by people who think they are dumb. It shouldn't be a surprise that others will disagree.

Last night my fitbit charge HR broke. I've been using it for about 3 years and I get a lot out of it, I track my runs, heart rate, and sleep. It has given me some good data, but it also has had some problems syncing, so I decided to upgrade. I shopped around for something that would fill all my health tracking needs and by a bit smarter, and settled on the Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro. I figured it would work well with my Galaxy S8 phone, and I was not disappointed. The coolest thing so far was finding a Fallout Pip Boy theme. I'm in geek heaven.

That's a pretty good point. Those nut allergy kids drive me...um...nuts. My kid's school is always sending home flyers asking us not to send anything with nuts for lunch. My kid lives off peanut butter sandwiches, how about you just make sure your fragile kid stays away from mine at lunch?

I knew the Astros were a good offensive team, but their defense has been something to watch.

Hah, I thought that Peugeot product placement was a bit crazy. That's the car of the future? -
Santa Cruz is filled with crazy liberals, news at 11.

I feel like I'm betraying people here, but I decided to refund Elex. First off, I probably shouldn't have bought it given the fact I have way too many games going right now. But I was also a bit surprised how rough the controls were. The world felt a bit slippery, and the combat was not great. Then you also have some pretty bad dialogue. I can get past all that, but I think I'd rather do so with a sale price instead of $50.
-
Elex seems easier with a controller. Also the dialogue is terribad. But so far it's got some pretty cool stuff, definitely gives me the vibe I got when I played Risen for the first time.

Rooting hard for Houston. Verlander did his job, now the bullpen needs to finish.

They fill my feed with all sorts of cool brewing inventions, so I'm ok with it.

That was a crazy final zero seconds.

You goofballs convinced me to buy Elex, so now I am downloading that.

Well in this case that doesn't apply as it's fiction. But generally, not really, as if they decide they don't want to study a play, they can. You can't very well insist they provide a good reason for doing so to your satisfaction, as then you're in a glass house so to speak. And people decide to not study many of his plays for whatever reason - we skipped Tempest, Titus, Midsummer, I'm sure other schools skipped the ones we did. This sort of situation is still far from the hill to die on. On the internet, no hill is too small to die on.

I will always remember how the crowd cheered in Independence Day when the dog made it to safety as all the other people died in the tunnel. I can't handle kids dying in books or films. It just puts a pit in my stomach. Big reason I won't see It. -

Well we don't have to **** foot around anything, because it's clear what your hesitation is related to. It's funny because of the unfortunate merging of themes in an innocuous happenstance. Don't tell me you think the joke is in confirming stereotypes? It's in the dramatic irony of a classic gag taking on an unintended layers, and the misfortune of the accident. I'm missing context here. I see a guy pretending to pick something up off the floor and then he drops something for real. I assume the punchline as is to do with whatever he drops, but I can't tell what it is. I legit laughed out load, so your confusion was literally with what the joke even is. I thought your concern was it being in poor taste. This seems like a pretty good lesson about assumptions. -
Games so good it costs human misery to make them.

If I remember correctly, quite a bit changed at EA as a result of those reports. It is in their best interest to attract talent, and that sort of reputation makes it difficult to do so.- 79 replies

One positive aspect of the terrible grind that many AAA developers seem to employ is that in a lot of ways it is responsible for the indie gaming renaissance we are currently in. People don't mind hard work. Far from it. But if you are going to sacrifice your health and sanity, it is much more rewarding to do so for something you own than a corporate behemoth. Unfortunately the risks are much greater in that regard, but so are the rewards.- 79 replies

Arent movie rating specifically gated by age? See, at a certain age that we are consider adults (18 in the US) and thus able to view whatever we choose. They have a little box with all of the reasons why the movies is rated at that age.

Well, I can't root for the Dodgers, and I don't really want to root for the Yankees. I guess I can hope they both lose?

And that's why all you wrote can be thrown out. Funny coming from a guy that spends way too much time commenting on the US.- 79 replies

Seems like there is a pretty decent sized chasm between polite conversation on the street and catcalling.
