  1. You don’t even need to outfit your ship, you can just steal the ghost ship from pirates and sail by yourself. It doesnt require you to join them.
  2. Didn't you friendmance Morrigan? Thats one of the first things she tells you. Face claims - if you would pair a character's appearance with any real world actor/singer/famous person - who would you pick?
  3. Two males, two females, all four are available to everyone. So there is no audience that this cast doesn't satisfy, as well as no skewness towards someone. Xoti is a full romance, and comparing to other options she actually has MORE dialogue.
  4. Ehh Morrigan's entire character revolves around her being a silly girl in the past and loving pretty baubles and Flemeth punishing her for that, trying to make her into someone who should only depend on herself and use others for her advantage. There is a reason her favorite gifts are mirrors and necklaces and other stuff. She is as girly as Leliana, except she doesn't let it on and hides behind 100 layers of contempt. Come to think of it, all women that David Gaider wrote are tough and prickly on the outside and super fluffy inside. Just look at Cassandra. But back to our companions. Maia is a soldier through and through. And well Aloth is a squishy mage who wears a skirt, even Durance makes fun of him for that in the first game. So I have a question. If you had to do face claims for companions - who would you choose? I've been watching Avengers and couldn't shake the feeling that Aloth reminds me of Loki/Tom Hiddleston. I think its the hair and the robes mainly, not the face, but still. I know Eder was inspired by some actor already... but I don't remember which one.
  5. Except Maia doesn't disapprove of everything and Aloth does. Fenris is too unhinged - throwing bottles, going murderous. Aloth is too reserved for that. Maia is also not girly, Morrigan is extremely girly. I would say Aloth is more girly than Maia. And Maia is more deadpan snark with her own code of conduct and her own morality. I fully agree on Mirke/Oghren and persistent lack of pants. Yes, thats perfect! And both are super smooth talkers.
  6. I understand why they did it in DAI - too much listening to rabid fans, which is never healthy. But that kinda cheapened some of the relationships vs what NPCs could form between each other, those felt more natural. Or maybe it was the way dialogues were written, that characters just kind of agreed to your harassment. Idk it was weird. As for Deadefire, Maia hits on the Watcher pretty fast. And there are couple of harmless flirts with Serafen here and there, even if you just treat him as a bro.
  7. The pigeon-mother and the pigeon-murderer? It would be epic. Think of all the rampant droppings.
  8. Aloth is definitely Morrigan, and Maia does fit Sten - deadpan snark and will murder you in a heartbeat. I don't think Serafen fits any, Oghren became too obnoxious and Serafen is way too nice. I'd say he is more... Sigrun? Shale would get along superbly with Hylea though.
  9. I can trust what he says about his heart, but his other parts... not so much. Exactly, his heart ends up in his other parts eventually
  10. I always considered Galawain's option as one of the better outcomes for Dyrwood. Its shown as survival of the fittest but there is so much negativity with others, even Hylea, that Galawain's seems like the best. Galawain is the only one that helps the region recover faster from a huge tragedy, which is sometimes more important than restoring that which is broken already. Idk how it would fit with Bleak Walker, but my obnoxiously good character always picks Galawain when weighing all pros and cons.
  11. If you talk to that Wahaki guy in Ori o Koki about his relationship with ranga, and you have Tekehu with you, he mentions something like them not even knowing the concept of marriage. So I assume its free love for all. Tekehu is... too fleeting. I wouldn't trust anything he says about where his heart is.
  12. technically Haer'Dalis was supposed to be a romance too, but he was cut. But that Aerie tryst was hilarious. I am actually thankful for the mods in BG, they add so much to the game, although I had other preferences than the aforementioned. I think this comic relates to Eder's fans right now.
  13. Haha fair enough. I don't mind the archetype, there is room for every character archetype here and the more different ones the merrier. Different characters resonate with different people. Also its not like the Watcher doesn't get attention. There is plenty, so much that people complain that the game is all about sexual innuendos now lol I would just vote for all characters receiving similar treatments be it male or female, sexy or ugly.
  14. Speaking of which, if anyone has links to good Aloth fanart, do share them. You only have to go on tumblr and search for Aloth, there is plenty of stuff there. But beware, because you know... Tumblr is a cesspool of corruption
  15. Nah, I'd trade her for Ydwin in a heartbeat, it would have been cool to have a fampyr animancer pale elf. Or Fassina, but I think with her scowling and Vailian background she would be too similar to Pallegina. Rekke is okay, but he is too.... idk out of nowhere literally and has no connection to the story.
  16. Me neither, which had me dreading the Tekehu romance (though I still had to try it, of course, for science). I think it's significant that Aloth doesn't make any advances and that his romance doesn't actually start until the +/-2 conversation, not +/-1. If you want him you have to be patient, turn down the other LIs who are probably trying to get in your pants and seize the opportunity when it comes. It's an interesting dynamic. I kinda like both, when everyone is trying to jump into your Watcher's pants, and when someone doesn't. I think there has to be a healthy mix in-between to please different people. I'd rather not have to have my character running around and harassing everyone with their love. Call it in-game vanity :D Oh and +1 to the post. Love the guy to bits. There are more of us Obsidian fans who actually like romance in their games (as broken, unfinished and bug-ridden as it is) contrary to what some especially vocal members will say. I think a lot of people who enjoy the game and content don't post here, but rather play and create their fan arts and fan fictions and share them with the world.
  17. I think Xoti suffers from Liara/Leliana syndrome. Sometimes the characters end up "too special" because the writers get carried away. Her dispositions with the party members make no sense and make others come out as hypocritical, and she even has additional epilogues in terms of relationships with other companions (Maia, Eder). Nobody else gets that much attention, not even returning companions. I don't mind, but I'd rather all companions were treated equally. Because different characters resonate with different people.
  18. Yeah, she just tells you "back off Cap" and thats it. You either agree with her and discuss how to better perform her assassinations to have "more effect" or she shuts you down. I like that there is a character that stands up to the PC, but there should be an option to tell them to get the heck off my ship. You could tell Durance that in POE1 at any time, I don't see why Maia should be different.
  19. Complete chaos in the Deadfire as all four factions fight over who gets to control Ukaizo. (On the bright side, though, none of your companions leave!) Just make sure you upgrade your hull and sails or you will die. You can also steal the ghost ship and kill both pirates for this. I went straight to Furrante who sent me to kill Aeldys for the ghost ship. If you follow that route - kill Aeldys, steal the ghostship and sail directly to Ukaizo, you will meet Furrante as your nemesis there. Deadfire is still in chaos though.
  20. Just wanted to put my 2 cents here that yeah, I am with you on this one. Less companions and more content > more companions and less content. Sidekicks just feel like glorified mercenaries you can build yourself, except resources were wasted on their models, portraits and voices. I am even not recruiting them on purpose so it would register in telemetry. I know one person doesn't mean anything but still.
  21. Actually they do kind of hide it. You can see it in Hasongo, if you take Maia with you and press one of the surviving Rauataians (the girl i think) about their canons and excess of gunpowder, Maia cuts her off telling her something like "did I ask for the report of your inventory, soldier". It rubbed me the wrong way because Rauatai is hiding the research they were doing in Hasongo, and Maia doesn't want you to know about it.
  22. I think he is supposed to be pro-tradition on a pro-Leaden Key, and anti-tradition on anti-Leaden Key. If you think about it, it makes sense since anti-Leaden Key would be trying to dismantle an organization that is hiding secrets of the gods, and pro- would be keeping this organization and hence keeping the secrets from coming out=tradition. (loved Morrigan too, and always kept rotating her with someone else because of disapproval) Yeah this. If you get the hang of it you can manipulate conversations without bringing your character ooc. The system is imperfect and a bit of a hassle, but if this means having companion relationships vs not having them at all, I'd go with this one.
  23. Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Funnily the island where boreal dwarves are is north of the map, not south. They are saying they came from Naasitaq through a land bridge so it should be somewhere beyond? Unless the map is wrong, or I am confused.
  24. Just use the unity console: https://www.nexusmods.com/pillarsofeternity2/mods/2 It will not break anything and his dialogues will immediately trigger at 50 (i think) and 150 points, the reverse if you want rivalmance.
