  1. Yeah the caste system in Huana is horrible too. But idk I feel like it can change as they advance? I agree all factions are essentially terrible Depends what you means by "good ending". If you side with no one, the Deadfire has a worst statu quo (Huana and Rauatai are fighting over Ukaizo, the Vaillain swoop in to collect and there are more pirates), but Pallegina is not banished. She does gets a remote posting in the Republic though (which she might not mind truly). Note that if you got Pallegina banished in POE1, she's not supposed to stick with you unless you pick VTC or go solo (according to Josh on something awful). Yeah she got banished but was taken back by the Republics since my canon is give souls to Dyrwood to strengthen it as per Galawain. By "good" I mean staying in the Republics in a capacity of more than ship guard.
  2. Yea, the Republics and their animancers so far are the best bet at fixing it (if you choose them), judging from the ending slides. That may leave a door open for Pallegina to return. I like the animancers in the second game, but siding with the Republics... i don't know. Anyone knows how to get a good ending with Pallegina without siding with the Republics? I don't want to get her banished again, but I'd rather help the Huana (for all their faults) or go solo. Both Republics and Rauatai have slavery, and that is something thats a no-go for me.
  3. Are you... referring to a wiki made by fans as a go-to source material? Seriously? The game never told you that a god of justice should be just that. The whole point of the story is telling you otherwise, that its a hoax that races of Eora believe in. And its just that, thats the story.
  4. I knowww, I have 20 of them in my inventory and I can't bring myself to sell them.
  5. Veilpiercer bow - ridiculously overpowered since it pretty much removes recovery time so you shoot nonstop. Found in Nemnok's chest in his lava lair.
  6. There is something called "Watcher's Blade" as well. A really cool sword that glows purple like all those souls that you meet. Its very easy to miss and sell because the initial icon for it is light blue. It has a different name, something like "ordinary sword" or so, and you have to examine it to unlock its powers. After examination the icon turns gold, the name changes and it becomes a unique item. I don't remember where i got it. Perhaps from one of the names ships that you can sink. But its definitely extremely easy to overlook. Here is a screenie
  7. I went ahead and just left the quest for now. It was odd that there was no "resolution" to lie to Mukumu. Will see how it goes. Also Tikawara seems to have a whole faction icon dedicated to them in the Reputations menu. Perhaps they will play larger part in the future?
  8. She's ~5, but Orlans are considered teenagers between 5 and 13 years old, looks like they age faster. I learned that today. I recruited some of the sidekicks, but didn't use them. They shows up during naval combat with the other not-in-the-party companions. Fessina has some comments with her ex-boss too. Ah yeah I meant more "mental age" than physical. She is five because five years have passed, but I thought that Orlans lived shorter lives so mature early. The sidekicks just end up as furniture on the ship, and I am using my tiny sloop so with all those animals they are just taking space. Idk I feel they were useless investment. They should have given us one full-fledged companion instead of 4 (now 5) sidekicks. Re-Serafen - I would be happy if he came back, I like him he is a bro, and his quest broke my heart. I wouldn't want him taking space of other returning companions tho, but I'm biased towards Eder/Aloth/Pallegina. For me it was Iselmyr nonsense. She was fun in the first game, second game she gets old. I think I'm keeping supressed Iselmyr as canon playthrough.
  9. Um how is it bad writing? If the gods in Pillars of Eternity are different to what you think the gods should be, its not bad writing. The whole point of the first game is learning that the order of being your character lives in is one giant hoax created by power-hungry ancients from a civilization long gone. These gods are not really gods, they are synthetic beings created by that ancient race to rule over mortals, yet they still act like hypocritical children. The idea may not be extremely original, but calling it bad writing is unfair. Its different writing and different story, which has nothing to do with Greeks or Tolkien or whatever.
  10. Yeah Aloth is closest to returning, but to be honest I think if the writers decide to bring others they will come up with something. So whatever companions do in the ending slides would be written into some sort of return path. Eder is logical in Deadfire because Eothas, Pallegina... kind of, Aloth is the least logical, his quest and his appearance are weirdly random. As for Vela, I wouldn't mind her growing up a bit and becoming companion. Didn't Orlan babies grow up faster? She's definitely not 5 in Deadfire, she looks older. Btw does anyone even recruit sidekicks? I only took Rekke because I wanted to see his dialogue (and that was still underwhelming) and others for achievement. Next playtrhough wouldnt even bother getting them on my ship, since no dialogue - no deal.
  11. But that bomb blowing up in his face and the reaction of the audience are the best things ever... Idk why you'd want to skip it. Aeldys is better off without that **** anyway
  12. It's definitely there and it definitely triggers. It might be an import bug or something, triggered on mine. And no there was no ridiculous Eder/Iselmyr convo :/ So you have nothing to worry about.
  13. Yeah, I had one such instance too when people in Neketaka called my watcher a "man from the palace". Oddly enough, it happened after I equipped one armor on her and her model stretched in size to fit that of a male. Re-equipping fixed it but she was stuck with the "man" in some ambient dialogue.
  14. You can save him without fighting them. Its a bit of an ass to figure it out, but its possible.
  15. I think she did yeah, but it would naturally feel that way to her. But he said something like "i thought we shared something because of...." basically indicating he was trying to be nice to another godlike, because he thought they were similar. It was really sweet actually. Tekehu is lonely as there are so few like him and people look up to him because he is a godlike and not because its him as a person. Its similar to what Pallegina had gone through except her experience was extremely negative while his is positive. That said people still see him as a symbol and not as a person. So I viewed that figurine gesture more like trying to find a common ground between them, but doing it in a very clumsy and silly way.
  16. I love Pallegina, always have her with me. But I did tell her off in that dialogue with Tekehu, only because Tekehu is a pampered child and that gesture was extremely harmless. I kinda feel like when you're older you should be smarter, raging at someone like that for a harmless gesture of trying to be nice to you isn't a good thing. Other than that I do understand her, she can rage all she wants because I completely agree with her. My Watcher is extremely anti-gods. Come to think of it, thats the reason Xoti stays on the boat most of the time. I like her, but her stupid belief in gods (without questioning anything rational) gets on my nerves. Not very much into pious people. So would I, I loved Durance. He was very different to the usual good/sarcastic/pretty/normal characters we get.
  17. I think you also have to ask Syri about it first, with Serafen present? She is in the Court close to the entrance.
  18. I don't think thats technically possible, since there doesn't seem to be a check for player's gender. So sorry Um... I'm afraid your age is showing, sir. What dya mean?! AM I that out of touch? Yeah, nowadays it seems its Justin Bieber thats all the rage.
  19. Because it sounds like a really bad fan finction Seriously its cringeworthy and I sincerely hope its not canon. It sounds awfully like a bug tbh... You'd think you would be able to influence him in *some* way at least. Eder doesn't really like to use his head for thinking though, so its sort of understandable that this whole affair is one giant mess.
  20. Honestly Maia is the only companion I am genuinely afraid of. Even Pallegina feels harmless in comparison. :D
  21. Actually, you totally can. PoE1's story happens without you as written. Because the story of PoE 1 is the Leaden Key doing the Hollowborn thing. And they actually succeed. You come to every site too late, they've already done their little dances. You're always behind Thaos. He gets down to the bottom of Sun-in-Shadow way before you do (as you've got sidequesting to do, and he just paused to collapse a doorway) he has enough soul energy from all those soulless kids to do exactly what he intends to do (empower Woedica), and just needs to flip a few more switches on the machine to do it. But to make you feel special, the writing forces him to wait until the player shows up, regardless of whether you got down there in 8 hours or if you took 8 months to tidy up the loose ends. Thaos won, but bounced on your plot armor at the last minute, trapped in stasis for no good reason. The Watcher's Awakening is completely irrelevant to what's actually going on in the Dyrwood. Thats true actually, and makes the point about first game’s urgency pretty moot. There is an illusion of you rushing after him because the game is leading you by opening area after area. Otherwise its exactly the same thing as in Deadfire. Except the main quest is a bit longer.
