So wait, you have to do 18% of a price just off the top of your head all the time? No wonder we got rid of it. Standardized wages ftw .. or maybe that's just the German ancestry and desire for order speaking.

Well the pizza delivery guy gets paid around 21$/h so tipping isn't really necessary. Everyone can live off the average pay alone here as long as they work ~30 hours a week.

Never got that far myself, just couldn't stomach the time requirements - but always wanted to. I wish someone would make a proper series like it, but just a tad more accessible for us plebs.

ah Service industry, I do not miss you. I've found that people who are a little well off (but not excessivly so) are the absolutely worst customers ever. Exceedingly greedy, impatient and rude. Extremely poor and extremely rich people tend to tip even (in a country where you don't tip). Just shows that humans can't handle a little power, we apperantly need it all - or non

Soooo, you guys have been a good inspiration before. I need a good wine, spicey flavour and good with many kinds of meals. A good red wine to fall back on, so to speak. Do any of you have a favorite you often turn to? And why?

Mass Effect 4 - will a dispraiser of Mass Effect 3 enjoy it?
Rosbjerg replied to samm's topic in Computer and Console
I'm sure you'll hate it judging by the general direction Bioware is taking, you should stick to indie RPGs. That said, if you could tolerate the worst parts of ME3, then you can most likely tolerate #4, I think it's very safe to assume they are gonna be making it even more 'accessible', 'fun' and 'awesome'. Just like every other game series they're making. To me it feels like they are taking the soul and character out of games and making them lifeless, but fairly fun.. Its just not something I like paying that much for. -
I love it and Ive gotten a tan, I think I may have broken somehow..

Every major European city south/east of Vienna maybe, but central/north pretty much see it as a waste of energy. Our electrical bills are high enough as it is with all the taxes. Besides I've found that people from countries with AC tend to acclimate much much slower to different temperatures, than those from countries without. Also - to celebrate the heat and America's 'freedom day' I'm making homemade choclate milkshakes and watching movies / playing games.. mmm

Anders Breivik sues Norway for breaking Human Rights
Rosbjerg replied to Darkpriest's topic in Way Off-Topic
"service guarantees citizenship!" ? We need universal human rights, because the extremely rare cases like Brevik is completely irrelevant to the larger scheme of things, in which your rights are needed and should be protected. If we allow any kind of political agenda to influence who should be granted rights.. well history is not too encouraging on what happens next. Your country being a great example of that. -
Temperatures gonna reach 32c (~88F) today and be around 26c (78F) at night.. I foresee a sweaty day! So I'm staying indoors. Now you Americans might not think its so crazy, but remember we don't really use AC here and the air humidity is fairly high. And we're on the mild end of the heat wave - my sympathies for Spain, France and UK..

I like the port to tablets though, playing on the Google Nexus is very smooth - so they got that going for them.

Wanted some light fun and played a round of Pirates! probably my best run yet.. I finished by the ripe age of 28, after 10 years of pirating having accomplished pretty much everything there was to accomplish.

That cat seemed very chilled for some reason...

Perhaps that's what I should do - I've been waiting for someone to play it with, but I do wanna try out the combat system.. Just can't strand the cringe worthy "humor".

We should ban stupidity, but alas then the Earth would be empty and only populated by dolphins and mice.

Its a sad day when politicians are a joke and the comedians have to be serious. Is there are racial wound? I don't know American society that well after all - but it does seem like it's only really a minority of blacks and whites that really hate each other?

And Judge Dredd for easy juridical practice.

Brutally honest.. Well I don't really know I guess, I'm an academic living in the capital, I'm ridiculously out of touch with the "everyday Dane" it seems. The easy conclusion is lack of good education and exposure to outside ideas breeds bigotry, but that's a bit too easy. If I had to blame one thing above all else, I'd blame the financial situation of the world, the crisis (which has basically been nothing more than a mild nuisance here) has however really created a mentality of mistrust to the system, fellow citizens and especially foreigners - everyone is afraid that they are getting cheated somehow and everyone is taking advantage of them. The media and gernal tone has become increasingly toxic.. even the basic wording, from something simple as "political debate" to "political duel" - I think breeds an atmosphere of unnecessary competition of aggression. To cite an example - this was a political campaign run by the conservative party.. I think it speaks for itself.. So it started slow.. a rephrasing went uncontested, a racist and bigoted remark was allowed without anyone challenging its merit.. and now we have this.

This is gonna make me a game-hipster I know, but they were cool when they were a small studio in Denmark with fun ideas, before they got massive international recognition and their games had to be "accessible". The last game was so annoyingly arcady I literally got a headache 10 minutes in from frowning.

I'm terrified for Greece to be honest, you guys are in for a pretty grueling run.. Seems hate and fearmongering are still a very real and annoying threat to democracy here 2000 years later. In fact for all of the western world, there are eerily parallels to the crisis of the Roman republic that would lead to the formation of the Empire. Creeping institutionalized racism, expansion of citizenship to said immigrants that caused massive internal problems as populist politicians inflamed the local crowds against them and a strong move towards oligarchical power that caused the disenfranchised to go for corrupt demagogues who promised them a pittance of influence. Edit: Yeah a party which has public announced that it wants: to force immigrants to stare at naked breats to ban sattelit tv in ghettos to exile an entire family if one member commits a crime (even if it's 3 generations since they moved here) to ban the colour green, since its associated with Islam every citizen in a DNA register. to send Syrian refugees to Kenya all religious holidays to conform to school holidays (which incidentally means every religion here should conform to christian holidays) to publically fund healers at hospitals (yep that new age bull****) 20% of public foods (schools, hospitals etc etc) should by law incluce pork - so muslims can feel extra exluced, for giggles and lulz I guess. to be able to use "Nødret" or a kind of marshal law - bypassing our constitution and parliamentary law - when they have to "deal with muslims". to put a tax on all written english words - to save Danish. to force immigrants to speak Danish in their homes, by law. to force radios to play at least 50% Danish music. to enforce a "minimal sentence" so no matter the context, criminals always get punished. to reintroduce coporal punishment (it's been illegal to beat your kids since 1964) homosexuals should be classified as "unnatural" and "handicapped". When sex marriage was written in to the law their speaker on families said "what's next, should it be legal to marry dogs?" The list goes on and on and on with one more ridiculous proposal after the other.. and it pains me so much that such an biogted party is even allowed to exist, let alone be the second biggest.. ****ing disgrace.. But then again, I'm just being a sore loser so take it with a grain of salt.

Ugh.. As of now I'm officially not that proud of being Danish (not that I was particularly proud of random geography before mind you), but seeing one of the most hateful parties in European politics become the second biggest with over 1/5 of the votes.. I fear for the next 4 years for anyone with even a shade of dark to their skin. Dark day, ironically...
