  1. well then we agree .. more commerce, more money, less taxes (EU tolls).. but not necessarily a "we are all as one" unity..
  2. Europe is moving towards greater unity .. not a United Europe .. (at least not for now) .. we won't lose our identity or culture, by moving closer, anymore than we already have - and in no greater quantity than we already do.. I'm all for EU .. We need the cooperation and the benefits it will bring! but we must still fight corruption and bureaucracy! * funny how you are Right-wing Lucius - which is generally pro-EU .. and I'm Left-wing - who are big opponents of it ..
  3. I would rather see Canada annex USA .. in fact I would rather see Europe annex the both of you .. we have more experiance with this whole "world police" thing.. ^_^
  4. I find your lack of faith disturbing! seriously, haven't you heard of sarcasm? a twist of irony? .. I'm an introvert too ..
  5. I believe Walsingham said it best.. but leaders of nations have never been known (in general) to be particularly wise or humble! maybe it has something to do with vanity and the desire of proving your malehood (on an extreme scale) .. my argument is that if every male in history was suffienciently satisfied, no wars would've ever been fought!
  6. while I follow your thought patterns astr0creep .. wouldn't you consider it extremely lucky just being born in "The West" opposed to a 3rd world country? I mean is it the same amount of luck when you get a raise (= filthy rich compared to 80% of the planet) as when a poor child finds a tire? I would consider you a hell of a lot luckier..
  7. congrats on having a beautiful daugther MD! I consider myself rather lucky .. I've been dealt a few rough times, quite a few and quite rough, but I've always managed to get out as a better person.. og Lucius, du m
  8. for true horror .. watch the film! you'll want to make love with the book after that ordeal..
  9. you know it's spring when it's freezing cold, raining/snowing and windy! <_< last year everything had blossomed, the sky was clear, the sun was shining and the weather was oh so fluffy!
  10. it's called sticking it to "the man" .. Christianity taught it to us..
  11. The question is "what do we want them to do?" .. and to what degree?? I still think that they could serve as supplement to alleviate many problems! and not counting organized crime they could provide a good service doing so .. not a replacement, just a supplement! sex for those who can't get it anywhere else, but not to replace social interaction .. But if they are able to program them perfectly they could take over much of the social sector .. doctors, nurses etc .. especially when dealing with dangerous individuals, where innocent humans could get hurt.. say extreme mental hospitals!
  12. Which is why I wouldn't want them on the market! if society reduces you to a spoiled child even in adult decisions like love, then we are truely ****ed.. but offering it as a sort of public service (in Denmark it was semi-legal to hire prostitutes to handicapped at some point, in fact some institutions still do it). And maybe we could eliviate some of the most serious sexrelated problems, like rape etc... but not going that far I still believe people who aren't able to interact socially, due to physical and/or severe mental disabilities, could be helped alot this way... and no I don't believe we would've solved that problem before robots.. unless we allow future parents to genetically alter their children before pregnancy or birth!
  13. he was probably hoping that you had marked we you were going so he could track you down and rape you in a dark alley! those Sk
  14. For some people this could probably prove a pretty good thing.. severly handicapped or mentally ill people (who needs love, but is generally on the less recieving end)! this of course leads to the moral question of it being ok to brush away this particular problem by giving these individuals artificial "soulmates"... I don't believe however that it's a good idea for "normal" people to indulgence in deep love commitments with these kind of surrogates .. we are already going towards a society that customizes life in every detail! I still wanna be a romantic on this issue!
  15. Especially the "Jysk" version of English ... shivers run down my spine whenever I hear it.. but then any kind of Danish accent in English sounds horrific to me...
  16. another friend of mine was skiing about the same time in Norway.. he broke both his legs several placs and totally wrecked one of his knees! he was told he'll be lucky if he can walk within the next year! and 3 Danes died this week in Norway.. hmm.. maybe we should stay in our element.. flat ground!
  17. Hello and welcome ..
  18. I'm not particularly proud of it!! In fact I'm pretty sad that I was that weak .. but it involved a rather large amount of alcohol! a pissed Dane and a pretty bad attitude = "**** you, **** me and **** the world" this combined makes a bad combo .. but I was in The Chezch Republic at the time, which just made it worse (since alcohol is extremely cheap there). I decided, with a very poor sense judgment I might add, that now was the time to drink until I could drink no more.. and drink Absinth! nedless to say I drank a little too much .. and although I was never declared officially dead (which allows you all to question my previoius statement) I did turn white, blue, cold, stiff and had no pulse.. the guys I was drinking with decided that they would try to revive me themselves before the ambulance arived.. by beating me.. and they succeded! so here I am ... 4 years later and hopefully the wiser ... now I only risk my life through stupid decisions! ^_^ "
  19. Long Island Ice Tea or Sydney Ice tea
  20. The funny thing is, I feel more frigthened by the whole experiance when I talk about it! (and see peoples reactions) I guess the seriousness of the whole ordeal haven't dawned on me yet! but then I realize that I feel humbled and not frigthened, I think I faced my frailty rather than my mortality... and yeah I still have my bruises.. but painkillers are taking care of that! and within a week or so I be as good as "new".. But I did die once, but that's another story for another time! glad to hear you other guys made it clear as well! otherwise this board would be alot more silent.
  21. that is true however.. I was carried away ..
  22. I'm without a scratch now ..

have any of you tried that?? the most insane thing just happened to me last tuesday, I was skiing in Norway when I suddenly saw a rather bigh jump and decided to test myself .. which was a pretty bad idea! I flew 5 meters up in the air and landed with 50 miles/hour flat on my back ... I was tore apart! I suffered extensive internal hemorrhaging! my muscles down my spine was shredded and so was my abdominal muscles.. in fact anything soft in the region from my neck to my lower back was bleeding.. except anything really important.. Nothing was broken and no important organs were even slightly injured! and even though the doctors was extremely worried, all the bleeding had mostly subsided within 3 days... and I was able to stand up just 4 days after the accident! now over a week and a half later I only feel slight pain.. and I can walk again without any problems! I'm sorry if this doesn't interest you.. but I was inches away from death and walked away without as much as a scar to show for it! and I wanted to share the fact that luck ceartinly seems to exsist! so be alive and be glad.. who knows if you run out of luck one of these days!?
  24. I'm not going to attack you just for stating your opinion, don't worry.. I'm not one of those people who can't stand critisizm! but, I can see what you mean .. to me it's just more than the filters and how it's done.. I've seen people taking pictures of beetles or rocks and I still enjoyed the motive or the simple fact that it was black and white.. these pictures are not great motives and not greatly edited, but they still mean something to me, which was why I added them ..
