I still work at an institution for addicts and "social misfits" (as they call themselves).. celebrated my 12 month here just recently .. but soon off to join the annoying ranks of the telephone inteviewer that we all despise .. I do it for the money and joy of pissing people off! :D

I think you underestimate human enginuity and downright pig-headed stupidity.. no matter what anyone throws at us, at least a handful of us always manages to climb out of the rubble... to repopulate the planet and start all over...

well you have to give the guy kudos for writing a book that so many people find plausible .. and I was impressed, he was able to deliever a good story with a fairly interesting plot .. sure it's has more holes than .. something with a lot of holes :ph34r: .. but still .. a good read! The film however falls terribly short compared to the book .. but on it's own it's falls under the usual "ok - but not great" Hollywood catagory..

I have one simple goal .. to feel fufilled.. which will never happen, but I'm quite certain my quest for it will bring me untold sorrows and countless joys.. and I hope one day to look into the eyes of my new born child and feel as a part of an endless chain that stretches beyond infinity ... to feel afraid and at the same time easement, since I am destined, at least, to help this little wonder into the world...

iyeah, it's also quite handy as a place to put your feet up when watching films etc .. but a subwoofer belongs on the ground, where it can make the house rumble! and I quite enjoy my view as well Kaftan .. unfortunatly you can't see the 180+ years old trees just outside, they are magnificant! but my view will soon change to a more urban envoriment as I'm moving to Copenhagen within the next couple of months.. so next time a thread like this arises it'll be nothing but grey buildings outside! and I understand you sentiments on playing Dreamfall .. I would want it to be perfect as well!

I've always found it sad that "The State" needs to restrict it's inhabitants of anything.. shows how stupid we are in general.. posion is still posion whether it's sanctioned or not! should you want to take - then it's up to you .. unfortunatly a great percentage of the worlds population isn't able to restrain themselves and therefore those who can must live under limited freedom...

I disappear.. the ultimate escape from reality is being amongst total strangers.. a bus/trainstation, airport or any kind of very busy public place.. kind of like the waves I think, people come and go all the time and you feel like some kind of observer of human natur .. forgetting yourself for a brief moment in time.. I can't even describe how calm that makes me feel, just taking a dive in the ocean that is physical humanity.. or I sit under a tree using all my senes (except sight) to just feel/hear/smell everything around me, trying to expand myself and engulf the tree with my mind .. after a few hours you'll feel like one with it..

i read something somewhere that discussed the concept of being united, but not "as one". it particularly cited this as the ultimate downfall of all civilizations that fail. maybe it was something done by the guns, germs and steel author. i can't remember, i'll look it up. the basis was that societies need a cohesive "one" concept otherwise their own diversity will rip them to shreds. taking a look around the world, right now, nearly all domestic upheavals are due to cultural differences within individual countries. mexicans protesting in the US (er, illegal immigrants, most of whom are mexican), muslims refusing to assimilate in france, three different groups in iraq (sunni, shiite, kurd), etc. everyone wants their own identity, while expecting everyone else to accept them for who they are regardless of human nature which almost instinctively fears that which is different... perhaps the idea is not as far fetched as it may seem? anyway, that's where my comments came from. i'm not sure if i agree or not yet. it needs more thought. taks <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Yes, if we started viewing ourselves as Europeans rather than Germans/French/Danes etc this would probably be a problem .. as we would want our particular individual culture to be the canon for the rest of Europe / or at least be accepted and acknowledged .. but since we don't regard ourselves as one nation but rather a group of nations working closely together I don't see this problem .. there is no one European culture and we don't want a particular European culture.. but we do want peace, friendship and trade on this continent!

If I found a petrified donkey in my closet I would probably be more shocked .. falls under Pre-ancient civilization I would think..
