  1. (w00t) (probably not)
  2. Danish software when it's best! :D
  3. the idea and ideal of it is fine .. but if this leads to (and it probably will) companies being forced to fire off some of their male workers to make room for a bigger percentage females, it's wrong.. I can see why we need a bigger focus on this, but forcing some one to do something (and like this) has to bring along some negative sideeffects! if this law applies to every field: then how about fields were women are currently the majority? in Denmark pedagoges, social workers and nurses are mostly female, I would guess this is similar in Norway, shouldn't they be forced to hire males then as well? (I know it's because almost no males study these respective lines of work, but still laws should not be made to favor one group in society no matter what)
  4. at first apperance I thought the shadow under his nose was his mouth .. that looked a bit freaky! :D but when I saw the drawing in it's true form I was impressed, nicely done!
  5. though a truce will never happen if Bush acts like this .. http://www.fjolletobak.com/detail.php?sear...5&content=14637
  6. There's a television show being broadcasted here in Denmark called "The Warriors" and it's about cruelty and how easy it is to turn two groups against each other, making them commit various forms of abuses against each other. In the last episode they actually broke the rules of the Geneve Convention, when they made a captured "prisoner" sit almost naked and barefooted in about -6 degrees celcius for 4 hours, while interrogation him.. during the interregation they also yelled at him and fired weapons (paintguns) close to his head, while he was blindfolded.. this was normal people who was indoctrinated through various excersises during 4-5 weeks.. I can only imagine what soldiers etc, who have been trained to obey others for years, are capable of! this to me proves that every person is capable of cruelty.. while I don't believe everyone is inheirtly evil, they can be trained to be vicious beoynd belief!
  7. it never fails .. when someone doesn't have an argument they begin with personal attacks.. and I'll just add that I agree with Lucius .. I still feel sympathy for the American public though, but I've lost faith in your ability to choose leaders long ago! still your choice though.. Denmark was very sympathetic towards US the years after 9/11, but statement after statement and conflict after conflict eroded that sympathy to the point where ,every one I know, only feels resentment (ranging from slighty to alot)..
  8. I don't agree.. but it's your use of words I don't agree with .. I agree that war is about power, but money is just a way to power.. not every war is about money! some are about ideas, some are about money/resources, some are just about annihilating another group (that's just power) .. this war is about money and power for US, it's about ideas and power for Al Queda .. I don't think Bin Laden is any richer now than he was before, I would suspect it's the opposite..
  9. war has never been about deaths .. it has been about the introduction or destruction of ideas! he wants to destroy Christianity and parts our culutre, we want to destroy parts of his! human casulties are just numbers to leaders, what matters is how many hear your word and how many agree with you..
  10. way to excessive imo ... 9 years! think about it, 9 years of your lives, that a really long time!! Make them pay something like 100.000 - 200.000 $ in fine and then slap them in prison for 1-2 years, that would would set an example and they would get their punishment..
  11. I don't think either side is interested in a lasting truce.. it puzzles me however that Bin Laden would offer it, even if it is temporary... Since he has been proclaiming that they can never be defeated and believe themselves to have the one true faith and protection of their almighty God.. so why ask for peace? I know he's not an idiot and he's losing battles and "ground", so a truce would be in his interest to lick his wounds.. But this war is not a matter of losses or succeses, it's a war of conversion, a war to start a bigger war and in this regard I don't understand his offer... edit: It just hit me .. maybe he's offering this truce to give all of America's allies an opportunity to back out off or back up on an ending, to give the populations of every western country, who oppose the war, something new to which they can blame their goverments for "he offered peace and you keep on fighting!?" .. hmm maybe this is his goal?..
  12. Actually, I think that to pass through a wormhole you have to, theoretically, pass the speed of light. So going through the wormhole is technically the same thing as what Kaftan is talking about. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> the beauty of it is that you don't .. modern physics allows (on a theoritical level of course) the bending of time and timespace, which means you don't accelerate to enormous velocoties.. you simply form the universe to allow you to go from one point to another.. the big problem however is, since occupy timespace we are affected by gravity as well, which could quite possibly twist us in ways we would rather not imagine..
  13. I don't think it's possible, but it fascinates me that we are able to slow down time by simply accelerating and reaching higher velocities.. what consequences that will have on us (on extreme speeds) is a bit abstract for me, although the immediate benefits are obvious! Wormholes however I find possible .. by bending space with gravity, this could be considered time travel I guess, since it would mean you have to bend spacetime as well.. although it "just" cutting shortcuts through time and space ..
  14. I practice Taek Won DO and Karate twice a week .. that's more than sufficient to keep me in good shape! ^_^
  15. and as the screen fades out he says "I'm okay" ... hehe or when the professor tries to justify why he couldn't get the bomb out "it's stuck in there with glue or something!" :D
  16. Zap: what makes a man turn neutral? lust for power? gold? or were you just born with a heart full of neutrality?? Atillia: No shoot firestick in space-cano cause explosive decompression! Zap: spare me that technobabble of yours Attila the Hun!
  17. well does a little flip every now and then .. as far as I remember what we call North is actually magnetically speakin South (but I don't really remember)..
  18. the Earth produces a large magnetic field which diverts alot of the more harmfull rays and particles from the sun .. the few particles that come through however (at the weak points) produce what we call nothern light when they interact with the Earths atmosphere.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magnetic_field
  19. they use black holes and enormous gravityfields to generate a portal .. I can kinda cope with the idea that gravity can be so devastating that it can rip a hole through time and space .. but magnetic fields?
  20. I would like to hear more about how magnetic fields can create a doorway to another dimension ... I'm kinda worried about it since we are all sitting on one giant potential portal then!
  21. that's a point of view .. I for one find Futurama to have quite a more intelligent way of telling a story than Simpsons ever did, and one of the better cartoons I've watched! but of course it depends on your kind of humor .. I think Invader Zim is hilarous, so that probably means I'm insane ...
  22. That would be too good to be true .. I love(d) that show! I'll keep everything crossable crossed
  23. I lost mine when I was 12 .. so I can't really beat it, but every male in my family has died before they reached 50 .. so I have about 28 years to go.. beat that!
  24. Very intresting... Are you getting into ignoring that fact that love is just a chemical called serotonin and just enjoying the beauty of it? Can your argument be related to the "beauty or truth" debate? As for going backwards towards ignorance, maybe they just dont want to leave their comfort zone just yet, if ever. Sometimes its a matter of one finding the correct path for them that will help them out of their caves. Most people enjoy ignorance, i do, i hate looking at my shoes and realizing that some poor kid in ethiopia had to make them. I'm sure smokers hate to read the surgeon general warning that says ciggs cause cancer. I guess this goes back to if your going to be conscious your whole life you might as well be happy. Its a tough battle to learn everything about oneself inorder to change, and the road to enlightenment cannot be shown to a person, that person has to discover it by themselve. I think its possible to cope with enlightenment, its just a matter of changing ones attitiude at how he/she looks at it. does that sound right? <{POST_SNAPBACK}> "Are you getting into ignoring that fact that love is just a chemical called serotonin and just enjoying the beauty of it?" kind of, but my argument is that when people gain knowledge and insight (in a western world way = logic) they realize that the world is far colder and harsher than they (in their naive minds of before) had believed.. they see the systems this reality operates under and feels a sense of loss... then they believe love is just a chemical reaction, free will is just an illusion caused by the fact that we can't see and understand everything.. that's when they go backwards, that's when they seek a simpler and (in their minds) better way of thinking and living.. everyone does this .. we enjoy nature because it's constant - opposed to our ever frantic and changing lives! we enjoy seeing the past in a romantic light - family values etc. they were more ignorant, and they were more happy (at least we (want to) believe they were).. my argument is that true enlightment is not just logic .. seeing things not as they really are .. because that's impossible, it's seeing things (and understanding them) as we really do.. understanding that reality is subjective and coming to terms with that - and then trying to put yourself in others situations, seeing their reality through them.. I believe enlighment comes, not with knowledge, but with experiance and a wanting, a seeking, to understand yourself and those around you.. on the most basic level.. but that's means enlightment is an elusive thing, not a level to reach and stay at .. but a level to seek and never truely reach...
  25. and since you have all shown him where you live it shouldn't be too hard to track you all down ... fear  Hildegaard and Kinslayer!! on a sidenote (but on topic) good to see people adding themselves!
