I have a theory that ghosts are in fact the result of weird temporal distortions, that simply open a sort of window to the past or future.. freaking out people in the 16th century when they see you and freaking you out because you think they are dead..

I heard about a rather strange woman when I had biology in high school.. she died at the age of 50, around the beginning of the 20th century and didn't look a day over 20. Apparently her cells kept renewing, but as some of you theorized, if you stop the ageing process, she died of rather serious mutations.. Has anyone heard about her or was it just some urban legend? I can't remember anymore..

I'm more interested in how she fought off 4-6 life threatening diseases, completely on her own.

Probably Left 4 Dead.. It's the best Co-op I've ever played at least. Other than that Tribes II, Call of Duty (with United Offensive)/Call of Duty 4 or maybe even Starcraft.. that counts right?

It might have seemed that way because of the angle, if it was in fact falling away from us, but seemed like coming towards it would've looked like it was going slower..

I've had several weird and scary experiences, but all of them can be explained.. so I won't talk about them, but I will share two stories I'm quite happy I had the fortune of witnessing.. The first takes place when I'm was about 12 years old - I was playing in a forest along the eastern coast of jutland when a friend of mine tells me to look up, I tried to spot what he's looking at, when suddenly I saw a red/blue-ish orb slowly descending towards the sea. It was about the size of the moon, when it's full (but obviously a lot smaller in actual size since it was closer ) and it's surface looked very much like that of a rock.. we assumed it was a meteor, but the strange thing was that we saw no fire trail or anything like it.. it was just slowly falling in a 45 degree angle towards the sea and then vanished, when trees obscured our vision.. later that day they said in the news that a meteor had landed in the sea, so I'm sure that's what I saw.. I just can't grasp why it wasn't on fire The second one was during my trip to India last year and happened around January.. I was lying on my back in the Thar Desert, trying to sleep. I turned my head to look at the stars because it was an exceptionally beautiful night and the Milky Way was clearer than I have ever seen it. In an instant there was a flash of light waaay up in the sky and a shooting star "formed" and started it's decent. Usually they are over in a few seconds but this one seemed persistent, I started getting a little worried when it grew in size and didn't seem to stop (10 seconds in at this point) and even more so when 10-15 seconds more passed.. Then it came close enough for me to see it falling apart and burning up as pieces kept flying off. I came so close that it actually illuminated the desert around me, even if it was only very faint.. At this point I could clearly see the yellow/white fire. It finally burned away a few moments later. I couldn't help but laugh at the wonder of it and woke up the 3 people sleeping around me, who cursed my luck and went back to sleep instantly.. I wasn't so fortunate and was awake the entire night, just looking at the stars..

Hmm, interesting ideas.. Forgive me if it's already been mentioned, but Rome Total War is now considered a classic and it's 5 years old now.. Mass Effect will most likely be on the list too, although I don't think it should. It'll be interesting to see if DA manages to push it off! Stalker will probably hit the list too, for it's interesting setting. Duke Nukem Forever, just for the amount of wasted hype and all the anger it inspired.. Prince of Persia: Sands of Time I know it's technically 6 years or 5.5? but I wanted to give it an honourable mention. Diablo III will without a doubt be considered a classic, Blizzard would have to mess up utterly for that to fail.. Spore and I know what you're gonna say - and I agree! it's a ****ty game, but it's gonna inspire alot of games in the coming decades I think, which will redeem it in the end. Sins of A Solar Empire/Galactic Civilizations II - for bringing the cool back into the space 4X genre.. CIV 4 of course, but all Civ games are almost always insta-classics..

Same here.. the last room with the 5 armed guys is great - it's a good place to practice your Ninja moves for the PC release

Maybe you are playing because you have fun? One of the best campaigns I've played in Rome TW was actually Carthage, early on before I learned the game proper .. bad units, spread out provinces, a slow economy (that becomes a monster if you develop it though) and Rome breathing down your neck.. I was barely able to hold on to Africa, but through it all, I couldn't help but think it was absolutely fabulous!

.. just wow.. Although I have to respect a chick who's clothes can turn into a giant dragon which eats a 30+ feet monster!

Yeah I figured you knew, it was primarily directed at the people wondering where and what Pripyat was.

No, they usually arrive a little later.. There are some scouting parties of 2-3 soldiers that hang around an area - if a Deathclaw or something similar killed of the rest he could be returning to his post after fleeing in terror.

Pripyat is one of the coolest places on earth. Its a completely empty city, and the radiation levels are low enough to take a 3 day tour of it. Those who have been there say its incredibly eerie, though most go because of the zone from the movie Stalker. If you played Call of Duty 4 you've been there too..

But no-one would really complain if it was I think - they would go "maybe it sucks, but hey .. it's free! what did you expect?"..

I found it here - but now it says that you need to go to the EA store... hmm.. Don't know what happened, maybe they released it for free by mistake for just a short while, before they corrected the error? and it's 10$ in Denmark.. damn..

I just downloaded it for free on Bioware's website.. I never paid a dime. The update isn't worth 5$ though. The extra mission is stupid and irrelevant.. Don't waste your time on it.

True, it would be a good ending - leaving you a bit cheerful for what ever is to come too.. That gave me a good Fallout 2 vibe.. - I would probably face whatever final end listening to David Oistrakh's version of (Debussy). Or possibly "First Sleep" by Cliff Martinez (from the Solaris film), that soundtrack has a really calming effect on me..

Is it a self-help book? It does look pretty interesting, I'll keep an eye out for it at the bookstore. I always enjoy book recommendations :D And he has voiced a character in Assassins Creed 2.. that's the power of "Yes"!

I saw it in India actually, and I thought it was pretty good.. it's kinda like the more intelligent version of American Pie, but at the same time the story is much worse. Which is why it's hard to figure out what to think about it. I recommend it though.. But if you want something similar, but much much better you should see Cashback.. .. Seriously, see it!

I have to say Freespace 2.. But BG:Shadows of Amn and Alpha Centauri both come in awfully close!

The patches have made the game run progressively worse for me.. first it just crashed, then after the first patch the game would run at double speed, now it suffers from massive memory leaks.. I wish I'd never wasted money on that game.
