  1. They did manage to create something very special with Left4Dead, just like they did with the original Half-Life.. Valve is the best FPS developer imho, so I'll cut them some slack.. but I am a bit worried about the melee weapons - frying pans and chainsaws? I really like the serious tone of the game and this is more Killing Floor'ish.. Each flavour is good, but I'd rather they didn't mix them. I wish they would've done expansions instead though..
  2. I was thinking the same thing.. But then it's gonna be twice as bad if the movie fails..
  3. VTF and VMT files - there are some install packs but the ones I found were for SP only I've tried to overwrite some of the models that are already in the \SteamApps\X\half-life 2 deathmatch\hl2mp\materials\models\Humans\ - folder, but so far that didn't work..
  4. That's weird, maybe adblock is protecting me or something, I did get some malware-free sprays there a while back. I'm sure there are other friendlier sites, that's just the one I used a while back, sorry about that. No problem, I just thought I should warn you
  5. Hmm, I wouldn't visit that site if I was you - I had 2 reports of malware and some scripts which tried to install a program without my consent.
  6. I've been trying desperatly to import some new skins, and change the stock character models available.. But I have had zero luck so far - I've not been able to find any online guide that helps, so I turn to you fellow Obz forumites, in hope that someone knows how to import custom models into HL2 MP. Any advice would be most welcome! (it's on steam if that makes any difference) - Rosbjerg
  7. I think having either the Exile or Revan as a party member would be wierd, as I would feel more "connected" to them than the new PC..
  8. I think we got the point..
  9. Very true.. It reminded me alot of Icewind Dale actually, which was cool .. Much much better than NWN OC imo - I couldn't even finish that because it was so craptacular! Each to his own I guess..
  10. You mean Zo
  11. Yeah, that's the one. The racing mission was near impossible and you also had to get the car there in time without damaging it. The story was really awesome with a great ending. They did release a patch that made it considerably easier though.. and you could drive faster than the speedlimit, but then cops would give you a ticket if they caught you (or try to arrest you if you tried to escape them).
  12. Fair points DN - especially about the value of games.. Sure 50$ is a lot (more like 80$ for me) to spend all at once instead of 15$, but you can essentially replay that month as many times as you want.. But all in all, I still think WoWsers save more money if they stick to their game and don't buy much else..
  13. Yeah it's easy enough.. Yes and no.. they start sooner so you have time to build up your armies etc (Denethor I, is the heir to Gondor, so they've tried to keep it canon). I wasn't supposed to attack so soon, but hey.. it's a game! - The biggest shame is that because of the game characters aren't immortal (or at least they age, the Witch King is now 56 years old heh) and assassins can still take out everyone.. I had to reload when Gondor assissinated one of the Nazg
  14. Playing some MTW2 Third Age.. It's absolutely fantastic! Isengard launched an attack on Helms Deep and failed (reinforcements came from the East ) at the same time I've taken Osgiliath and my armies are preparing to move towards Minas Tirith.. I hope I succed where Sauroman failed, or Sauron's wrath will be great! The other pictures are from a battle, probably meant to slow my advance while The White City was being reinforced..
  15. YEAH! because Iron Man and Dark Knight are the ONLY real movies!!
  16. Actually he had some interesting ideas.. that developing nations should form an alliance, much like the EU, in order to help each other out, and in so doing avoid indebting themselves to the West. Now he's effectively burning his bridges, as nobody wants to be on the dictators' side. Shame really..
  17. Social Democracy would be a more fitting term.. In essence our way of doing things are quite similar to the rest of Europe.
  18. In the history of external coups, very few have been that easy.. Then there's the moral issues - who gives the West the right to coup a nation, simply because they find his ideas repulsing? He seems to be on a slippery slope towards actual dictatorship, but that doesn't justify taking out a leader that seems to have the support of the majority of the people in his country.
  19. Because the Obsidian board has a large and diverse set of posters. Those 11.6 million people who play World of Warcraft are all flash in the pan and have been for five years now. Hmm.. I don't know about that.. if we assume that the votes represent gamers in general, that still means that 25% of all gamers play MMOs, that's a pretty huge share. And ~50% have played it in the past and might come back for a good title.. I would be pretty happy with those numbers if I was running a MMO buisness.
  20. I wanted to see what all the MMO fuss was about so I bought AoC because the setting seemed more interesting than the other ones out there.. It wasn't really that great - my problems with MMOs are all that grinding for XP.. Leveling is the least important thing for me, so seeing an entire game molded around that kinda puts me off.

Looks cool.. Reminds me of Independece day with those ships hovering above the major cities and closeups of people being frightened. When will it be out?
  22. Defenders of the Crown!! One of the first turn based strategy games.. and it rulez!
  23. The new Medieval Total War mod Third Age.. A total conversation into a Lord of The Rings RTS. It's really cool, they've added unqiue landmarks and all that jazz.. I highly recommend it to MTW players!
  24. I'd rather blame the Nazis in your country.. but too each his own I guess..
  25. Turkey in the Europe Union would be a good thing for them (from a western point of view) as they would have to follow the laws of EU.. It would move them further towards democracy.. It wouldn't move us away from it. And Morgoth, I can highly recommend that you take a long vacation in Turkey and talk to the locals.. you will see that they aren't anything like what you imagine.
