  1. Indeed you did.. Carry on!
  2. I laughed.. - Any way, this thread isn't for intimidating or trolling, so everyone please cool off a bit..
  3. Or, better yet, he's actually trying to make you think about this issue and discuss it.. By deliberalty taking an extreme view to channel the discussions.
  4. Not the same, I pay for my universal healthcare by taxes - it's not goverment sanctioned charity..' Why dump it somewhere where they can't handle it instead of recycling it ourselves? it makes plenty of sense. This is my fear as well, but it can be solved in an equally flawed way - create a civilian oversight comitte which is in turn overseen by the goverment, which is already overseen by civilians. Thereby drastically increasing the cost and difficutly of lobbying. The fundemental problem of having goverments control foreign aid is that they will purposefully, or unintentially, look out for their own national and security interests.. By having private companies set up buisness you somewhat get around this issue, they are more interested in making money and keeping their customers and shareholders happy.. and bad press and corruption isn't they way to do that.. This of course requires 2 things, an independent media and public interest.
  5. The US isn't the only country that provides aid you know..
  6. lord of flies, if you had actually thought this through for a moment you would realize that throwing money at Africa will have just as equally horrible ramafications as colonialism did.. you'll create a culture of dependency, which will for all intents and purposes be like economical slavery.. For starters, the biggest problem today with charity is that we simply dump obsolete (but still working) equipment on Africa (like tractors and medical equipment) in order to help them.. what happens of course is that these machines break like they always do, but now you have a piece of machinery which will be too expensive to repair, since the parts are no longer being produced, or are not readily available, and they will be thrown away - only to create a new problem -> pollution.. Imagine instead that you make it profitable for companies to invest in a country.. have them produce cheap and easy to operate machinery using old technology, which could be sold cheaply and directly to farmes and local companies, preferbly by producing them on site to create jobs.. then you help the local population by providing micro-loans, with favourable rents, which they can use to invest and build up their own buinsess, and pay back when they have a stable economy.. Now you have a foundation for a growing society instead of a system that mearly keeps people in poverty.. I very much for lending a helping hand to developing countries, but that helping hand isn't a crutch! the best way to heal a broken bone isn't by expensive medicine, it's allowing the body to heal itself.. Now this system needs to be guided and monitered so that companies don't exploit the poor (like we do with charity organisations already), but I believe that this is a much better way to help a country than simply giving them HUGE amounts of cash.. We've seen that dissapear into corrupt hands way too often anyway.
  7. Karma is making a shot to the head of a ghoul 1.2 kilometers away using an DKS-501 sniper rifle with a 4x optical capability scope... Karma is knowing your target, putting them in your targeting reticule, and together, achieving a singular purpose against statistically long odds.
  8. I'm having fun with a mod called the Peloponnesian War, which takes you back to ancient Greece (not over-the-top 300 style though).. It allows you to form your own kingdom too, although it will be called -"insert player name" Rebels- .. so I'm the vassal of no-one and on my way to conquer the known world.. the next version will introduce a map of Greece and balance the units more.
  9. Yeah I think you need to capture ALL the hostile nobles, and that last one was probably on a raid somewhere in Khergit..
  10. I turned 25 and survived, so I'm not complaining.. but yes, it's a shame that these people died, especially David Carradine - I quite liked him.
  11. While I won't disagree with you, since a great deal do enjoy the vanilla games, I know enough who generally stay away from playing many unaltered released games and only start playing them properly when mods are available - so I stand by that it's a shame mods are needed to enjoy some game to their fullest (for some/if not many)..
  12. I'm fairly convinced he was guilty too, but that is a rather harsh statement.. or are you just jumping to conclusions to empower an arguement?
  13. I think we can assume that it'll use the F3 engine, as an expansion in a different engine would be very unusual.. Sort of Stalker --> Stalker: Clear Sky expansion. In that case, yes, it makes sense. Wasn't that "just" an upgraded version of the engine? and if so, all the data and programming could be transfered without much of a fuss.. I'm not sure that the whole system of Fallout 3 could so easily be transfered from the Gamebryo to Onyx, at least not in the timeframe given.
  14. I think we can assume that it'll use the F3 engine, as an expansion in a different engine would be very unusual..
  15. I haven't heard of him, but apperantly this is his only movie? it would seem it's kinda like an autobiography then as the protagonist is named Nishi and wants to be a Manga artist.
  16. That was a hilarious game.. I played it alot with my friends back when I had a 486.. That and "The Incredible Machine"..
  17. Mind Game ( ) If you can get your hands on this masterpiece do so now! It's seriously the wierdest (and best) film I've seen in a long time and the trailer is nothing compared to the actual movie (in wierdness). Once you get into the rather confusing and very japanese storytelling, there's a simple yet brilliant story waiting to be discovered.. The God scene is especially hilarious!
  18. Only to be bought by Wallmart.. Man the future is looking bleaker by the minute..
  19. Installed "The Movies" again yesterday.. with a few minor mods it's a much cooler game!
  20. I'm initially positive towards this idea, but it requires more of the developer, as many have already mentioned.. I am however somewhat against it if you only have this idea as a starting point and then try to build a story around it, I think it'll seem forced and constructed then. Stories start with good stories, not conceptual ideas imho.
  21. There's an ambitious project under way here in Denmark where all goverment cars (elder care, ambulances etc) in Western Jutland will be powered by hydrogen in the near future.. The goverment will then help fund the construction, which is being directed by a private company called H2 Logic, of enough Hydrogen stations to cover the area. My brother designed the stations and pumps they'll use (on the front page) which is why I'm pimping this info on you
  22. It's a great example of why good style always beats good graphics..
  23. I don't really think Obz is that passionate about K3 anymore, do you? I mean, they are busy with their own IP Alpha Protocol and now they have a chance to make some Fallout games/expansions if NV sells well. I imagine they have stronger feelings for the FO universe, seeing as Chris Avellone pretty much canonized the setting with his Fallout Bible. Love to see K3 though, it's my favorite SW setting so far.
  24. You know, out of 12 active topics you are responsible for 8.. that's quite a track record.. Light: Stasis Field or Heal Neutral: Force Wave Dark: Lightning Storm
  25. We celebrate it on the 23rd instead.. and then build a huge fire, put a fake witch on it and burn her, while we dance and sing around the fire.. Talk about evil Christian holiday take-overs.. haha I like the Swedish version better, although it's essentially the same (drinking).
