Just had to comment on this: Not so, in an atheist world, the scientific rules and laws still apply - I doubt most Christians would use God to explain gravity. Dismissing God simply means that there is no overall deity, but that doesn't mean that the system is random or chaotic. Interestingly though - and for arguments sake, how would the presence of a deity, be an assurance that the world isn't completely random? (especially seeing as a deity is the only thing that radically and inexplicitly change reality)

No, the Conservative party ruled for 10 years about 15 years ago. Besides those two big parties need the support of at least 2-3 smaller parties each in order to have a chance at winning, if they don't have that, the other side gets more votes.. Which makes things interesting, because a leftwing party could technically get smaller rightwing parties to support them and vice versa.

Our population is as divided and we are only 6 million people in total.. We have a multiple party system and that works pretty well to calm the tides. I think your problem is that you've been thinking in North/South, Eat/West or Democrat/Republican .. generally a further polarized western dualistic view of reality.. for too long.

It's like ex-smokers.. Most of them are always preaching to smokers how bad it is for their health etc etc. It's the "born-again" syndrome. That and religious people are scary when you are not part of it, it's a little unnerving to see others rely so heavily on faith.

That's my personal record, unless you count Roskilde Festival which is 8 days of non-stop 6am-4am partying (or 9 days if you come early and party before they open the gates).

I'm fully recovered from a party I hosted Saturday, today I have to go to another one, friday there's a big party and Saturday I'm hosting yet another one - then the grand finale on monday the 21th with over 40 people coming for dinner.. I must be inspired by Shryke or something.

A new Danish band "The Rumour Said Fire" with the song .. Inspired by Simon & Garfunkel, Bob Dylan and various 60's hippie bands. I've also been listening to some of Dylan's earlier music, like The Times They Are A-Changin and Beirut's Elephant Gun <- seriously check this out if you haven't heard of them!

KOTOR II with the Restored Content Mod.. It's actually pretty cool to see what was left out and how some of the quests are vastly different. If only Obsidian had had more time, it would have been a phenomenal game instead of just a very good one.

Maybe that's a good thing? I tried the original and was not impressed - the mechanics were fairly good and a great game could be crafted around them, if some of the arcade'ish elements are weeded out.

I'm too often surprised by the cruelty of humans.. especially devoted ones (not just religious) I think it's more important that we kill the root of this evil rather than the manifestation though, as someone else will just take their place.
