  1. Crimson Skies maybe Or maybe Air Power: Battle For the Skies by Rowan (1995)? Kinda hard to place where early PC games should be... That was it! Thanks.. I thought it was older to be honest (91-93'ish). Crimson Skies seems interesting.
  2. I was thinking of an early PC game today.. it was a flight simulator and you were flying in old biplanes - but it was also a strategy game where your mobile base was a giant blimp/airship and you had to conquer areas by attacking the enemy's air base.. I can't for the life of me remember what it was called. Also, still playing FO:NV.
  3. I played it in coop with a friend, which actually made the game much more enjoyable and fun.. I was really impressed by the originality of the setting, even if the combat was a cheap clone of Diablo.
  4. Yakuza 4
  5. Yet you don't get sick of shooting a gun for a few hours in FPSs.. It's all about the execution, boring puzzles will kill the players' interest in less than a few hours, while interesting and intelligent co-op puzzles might keep people interested for hours on end.
  6. Are you running some sort of anti-UK campaign Walsh? Because all your links really makes me wanna stay away..
  7. You might have better luckk at the official support forum at Bethesda. But do you have any mods installed (like something that slows time)? It could be that something is conflicting.
  8. It's tricky - but it just sounded like you ran out too soon and the new tech was too expensive for the new firms perhaps? (guessing) I avoided an oil crisis all together only once and that was when I pushed for new tech at turn 2. So I think it might be something to do with the availability when the oil starts running dry.. You have to implement technology to advance renewable energy (like sharing photovoltaic and deep drilling) - otherwise you can expand the oil drilling if it starts getting serious, which might cause severe ecological problems, but later tech can alleviate that.
  9. Well Calax, you have a point - I would also like a sequel where you had the resources of a nation/universe/'what have you' that you accumulated in the previous title and then set out to defeat the ultimate obstacle.. I find it pretty annoying when they reset the character instead of just turning op the action. But I think the problem lies in the overall structure of modern games. The first game is so effin epic that if you didn't reset the character the next fight would basically be so over the top that it would be ridiculous.. Maybe if Mass Effect had a level cap of 20, ME2 40 and ME3 60 then you would feel your progression, much like you did in the BG series.
  10. Page not found. I suspect the world filter censored some of the words in the link..
  11. So basically you'd like a game where no-one tells you what to do ..
  12. Maybe I'm reading the document wrong - but as far as I can tell, this is simply an FBI agent (or his superior) who wrote a report after talking to an informant - seeing as it says "no further evaluation was attempted" I guess they didn't think the claim had any merit?
  13. yes, yes and no.. I can see that if you disagree with the premise behind the game it may be difficult to enjoy it.. I for one am quite convinced of global warming, but not so concerned about whether it's man made or not, more on how it's going to affect us and if we can do anything about it.
  14. I'm doing my second play through of NV, I've found so many places that I missed in the first game - and I took Cass with me this time, who is by far my favourite companion. I've also installed so many mods that it's hard for me to keep track (I think I have 30+ now) - but they've really made the game much better (and I liked it vanilla too).
  15. also, see if you can stave off the worlds dependence on oil - you do that by getting cars to run on electricity, switching to biofuels and also reducing the industries dependency on coal. There's a tech that makes synthetic oil, but that's difficult to reach in time.. Generally you need to check the stats and info on each continent often, to see how your policies are affecting them - the oil crisis comes soon and hard if you develop China, India and the 3rd world too fast.
  16. What do you mean? that there is no global warming? I see no reason to be dishonest. I used to believe it, but I feel that any possibility of effective action being taken to tackle it is practically impossible without some sort of World Government. And since that's not going to happen without WW3 I am resolved to ignore the issue until I cannot do so any longer. Perils of democracy and all that. Plus everyone I've ever met from the Green party in the UK gives me the creeping willies. Consequently a game about something I'm trying to ignore doesn't really flash my turkey. If that's an expression. Which it isn't. Well that's also kind of what the game is about.. but fair enough, I understand your disillusion by the inaction and incompetence of world leaders.. Flash my turkey.. heh, I have to say that in a random conversation some time..
  17. Let's stay on topic please.. If this derails again I'll be handing out warnings.
  18. 57% don't care. and that note - let's get back on topic.
  19. The band, the bomb or the sword? or all three perhaps..
  20. Aye, it is getting pretty ridiculous.. I'll take a drink this weekend as well in support.
  21. a Claymore is a 2hand sword..
  22. What do you mean? that there is no global warming?
  23. A ballsy move.. oh wait..
  24. Yeah me too.. This is completely idiotic on all accounts and as Walsh very aptly said stupidity truly is the only winner here..
