injurai replied to Enoch's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Wait... is the DLC the same thing or a different thing to the planned expansion(s)? At first I thought it was the same, but maybe it's different?

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - NOW IN 5$ LOOT BOXES
While I still really enjoyed ME2, it had signs of the beginning of the end for me. That was the last BioWare game I played, and by the time DA2 was shown I had already tempered my anticipation. It still however managed to be disappointing. After so many years of them being the Gods of my video game life, it was quite a pity to see them go that way.

Intel Kernel Memory Flaw - "Looking at a Ballpark Figure of 5-30% slow down"
It would make turns in Civ V longer. Just because often rigs are gpu limited doesn't mean cpu specific tasks won't take a hit. In fact most animation is done one the cpu.

I have no hopes nor dishopes for DA4. I stopped after DA:O - Awakening. The series lacked any draw for me after that. In fact the PC versions started looking even worse than their already unappealing console counterparts.

Launch Date For Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announced, Pre-Orders Now Live!
If it's free do people really care? It's long old news that DLC originates from cutting the scope of the base game, but having a new scope in which employees who'd otherwise become idle can keep working on. Sometimes it's ready day one for everyone.

The Political Quinceañera Thread
As a kid Emma and Olivia were amongst my favorite girls names, and they weren't all that popular at the time. I wonder if it was just something in that generation that just informed a shift in name preferences. I've also found the Boyd name trends are a little more grating than the ones for girls. Though Noah is a solid name.

What Was The Final Confirmed Stretch Goal?
injurai replied to Gary1986's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Truly a tragedy. I thought the Ydwin fans would at least pull us closer to the last goal, but alas they failed me. Damn those nerds and their fleeting infatuations.

April 3rd release date; pre-orders open
injurai replied to Enoch's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)They definitely used the beta for feedback. I wouldn't be surprised if they have tweaked some of their systems. It's also not like they can't balance overlooked or outstanding issues post-launch either. In fact sometimes for someone's complaint to really become an apparent issue, they need more hands on the game. Which the launch will do. It's about being confident that a change needs to be made. As long as Obsidian is willing to keep an eye on things, and open to making changes they feel sensible then I'm happy. I'm less concerned that some forumite get's their way, and more that Obsidian is putting in the effort to do what they feel is best.

April 3rd release date; pre-orders open
injurai replied to Enoch's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)it's... seems like not much. There is still much stuff they said they want to test and didn't make into the beta yet. This is worrisome. Is it? I would think that the beta would be a different build of the game. I suppose it depends on how trivial it is to push those changes to the beta.

injurai replied to Enoch's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yeah. I'm not crazy about 3 smaller 10 dollar expansions. The rather large expansions with alot of great content were one of the very best parts of the first one. I concur, but am not pessimistic at the moment even with my preference. Deadfire is a land of sea, isthmus, archipelago, and Isles. For what it's worth, it seems rather more geared towards incorporating slightly smaller units of content. It's not like the expansions where all just monoliths of content either, they had a progression of zones, with different sections to their story. Having additional content divided into 3 segments seems fine by me.- Launch Date For Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Announced, Pre-Orders Now Live!
Alright, so there is Standard, Deluxe, and Obsidian. I have "Premium" Digital + Pillars II DLC. I guess that means I have the Obsidian Package? This is going by the original backing schemes. Or is Premium a back thing unto it's own? Because I thought that backers would have unique bonuses not in any of the release packages.- April 3rd release date; pre-orders open
