It says the destruction of the previous protocol droid, there were atleast one other protocol droid in the first game, and I doubt that there's a bunch of HKs in one place, so it would stand to reason that he's talking about another type of protocol droid

How many times do you PLAN on playing?

Can KOTOR2 beat Halo2 in sales?
Laozi replied to KOTORFanactic's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Halo two has been hyped in every game mag. for over 2 yrs. As good as Kotor is it still a rpg and it will be years before those are as popular as fps (perhaps kotor 3 or 4) if ever -
How many times do you PLAN on playing?
Laozi replied to Zach Morris's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It all depends, the first thing is to play through with every combination of character creation. Then I'll have to see if there's a big difference or any really if you say Revans DS/LS -
Ya I can't wait to use all the classes, it looks like they've taken steps to make each a whole lot more playable, but what I'm more interesting is seeing the hopeful differences in the game if Revan was DS or LS
-
Ya I guess, she's suppose to be able to sacrifice herself for you, but they made it sound like that was sort of optional
-
consular/ master haven't decided ls or ds

Designer Rambling: Wookiees
Laozi replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
wookiees are almost as sweet as ninjas but not quite -
he was a total lame ass who never recovered from being beat with a shoe as a child. So then latter on he managed to find an indestructable ship (ya I know its brillant, I wonder how long it took them to come up with that gem) after the ghost of Exar Kum corrupted him. If I'm not mistaking he managed to defeat Luke Skywalker at one point.

Designer Rambling: Wookiees

Wookiees, like any other type of character are as good as the story that's built around them -
So which skills will be most useful, story-wise?

Ya I never used stealth in kotor, hopefully they will give me a good reason to use it in atleast one of the play throughs -

Are wookiee's comparable to the chupa cabras? -
now for the unending chain of thank you's lets go suck ups
-
I wonder if they'll go for any realism with this feat, like if you take on someone with a lightsaber, assuming that they have some skill, then more often then not they'd cut you up faster then a turkey on thanksgiving

ya what do you think Obi-Won uses in ANH it all depends on the circumstances -
1000 generations.....Ahhh. I misremember, then; I thought he said 1000 years, which is far more reasonable. The Star Wars galaxy must be a pretty dull place if really important, interesting events only happen once every few millenia (though, when they come, they do seem to come in force.) <{POST_SNAPBACK}> I think that it would only make since that if the Republic was protected by Jedi then it would endure for an amazingly long amount of time

I totally disagree with the christian angle, the ideal is not to become perfect, the very idea is somewhat blasphemous. Ther idea of christianity is to accept Jesus as your lord and savior specifically, or perish in an underworld of unspeakable agony, hardly the same idea of the force. Jedi master/ apprentice is quite similiar to the Rinzai Buddhist tradition, but most know that mostly all Buddhist tradition has its roots in Taoism. Specifically the bulk of Luke's journey in the force would seem to be a solo act, which after receiving the doctrines of truth one must seek answers alone to truely find the truth, quintessentially Taoist. Incidentially, this is where I think the biggest mistake of the NJO books is not exploring this method in the least.

I think you're overestimating Charles Mansion's success. I know G&R did one of his songs but that was the pathedic helping the more pathedic. True evil, yes probaly, truely dangerous, eh to a point, limited.........surely. But I would think the success of M&M and things of that nature is quite more consequential to the people. He is sort of a "sheep in wolves clothing" pretending to be angst, but at the same time making millions for MTV and corp. record labels. Most of his following wouldn't understand a real issue or threat if it sold them there new gold chain, but feel like they're clued in tricking the masses is where the real power lies, not killing them
-
I don't know about LucasArts and WotC, but the 'evil' game for Bioware games has historically been almost universally lame. They almost always hinge it on a plotline for which an evil character wouldn't give a damn, and your options for being 'evil' usually just amount to being a petty jerk who steals credits and says mean things to people. Disappointing, to say the least. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Thats because the true essence of evil is difficult to depict. Its not like most people who are evil (ie corp. heads, dictators, George Bush, music execs, anyone working in marketing) one day decide, "Hey you know what, I think I'm going to be evil for now on." Evil usually has something tied to it that makes you deceive yourself as to ignore the affect it has on other people.

As a writter myself, its taken me over two years to create a suitable prehistory for my world that I'm creating, and that world still changes everyday. What Anderson did was still remarkable easy no two ways about it

Designer Rambling 2: The Lightsaber
Laozi replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Its important that people are not accepting of limitations, I would say that most of there arguements are because of this. Now with that said there is a line, where you're not accepting, and then there's regurgitating the same arguements all the time. I guess its up to the individual to decide when they have crossed the line, usually the more intelligent someone is the faster they can come to these conclusions. On the other hand they have suitable ooposition everytime they make a point and some of it has to be the "thrill of combat"
