The Brazilians make nicks because their full names are 3 word mofos that nobody would remember. Henry has consistantly underperformed at the big stage except 98 perhaps and I'd pick Rooney over Henry any day in my XI. Not that either would make it ahead of Adriano. It's tough because the US probably won't make it through to the 2nd round to pwn the mini Europeans. As for Japan, if they play their fast first touch game that I saw at the Confed Cup they'll be in business. Their main problem is that they are crap at finishing.

22, actuarial studies. I'm into soccer (Chelsea), passionate about food (cooking and savouring), gaming, internet surfing, anime/manga and have been playing MTG lately. A realist in practice but an idealist at heart.

I've been reading through some dev credits and I'm surprised how almost everyone's been at so many companies and sometimes spent relatively little time at said companies. Why's that and what do you guys think about it?

Germany got such an easy group and England's certainly doable. I'm a little sad to see Italy (my team) in a tough group and that the US, Italy or Czech Rep. won't make it. If Italy are up to their old tricks, they'll probably be clinging by their fingernails to the last match then scrape a draw to get through to the 2nd round or something. I hope Japan can make it. Obviously it's going to be a fight for 2nd place and though I like Australia, I prefer Japan. That group almost looks like a Confed Cup rerun.

It's one of those classic moments and you missed it.

Another story I've heard was from my Hindu former landlady which said Jesus went to Nepal to mediate for some time before returning to the Middle East.

Well, sucks for the other passengers to have their travel delayed by the person.

I'm not studied the bible enough to form a strong opinion on auto-damnation, but I'm pretty sure that if you're reasonably well informed and truly understand the "welcome back with open arms" part but spurn it (or whatever) then there are consequences, whatever they may be. Of course it is reasonable to believe that people in different situations may understand the offer but be condidtioned to reject it (either in a environment of different religions, lack of religion etc). Then imo things get iffy - which is why I'll need to read up more. As for the firebrand suffering and hell etc, that's the implication but not the essence of Christianity imo. Of course you can believe what you want, no doubt fueled by raving preachers and stereotypes perhaps but that's not it for me. This is something that goes beyond the half full/half empty point of view as I believe that Christianity is mainly a message of redemption through love rather than "You ****ers are going to die lol".

Well imagine it like you have parents with really high standards but you couldn't deliver, but they still love you and are always ready/want to welcome you back with open arms.

I thought that law was recently changed? Maybe plans to change it or something. For a pack of sexual deviants they sure are a bunch o' prudes. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Ah, I didn't know that. Have any links by chance?

With its general social acceptance of sexuality, I wonder why Japan hasn't removed its mandatory censoring of genitalia. It seems like a very archaic law.

We need to send Steve to Iran. Only his love can save the Middle East!

How do I know you're not Eldar? Eldar is everywhere. You cannot escape Eldar

Japan is wacky, no doubt but I think it's a cultural thing that they've grown up with. They'd think a lot of the sexual trends in other countries are weird too I'm sure. The thing that disturbs me is the non-consesual themes. Other than that things can get pretty weird to say the least. I remember my friend playing a game where you needed to stalk a girl in a fps setting. When she looked around you had to duck or crouch around things to avoid being detected.

Hm, I have a good Christmas story though I'm not sure whether it's a positive one. I spent one of my Christmases in my empty university dorm with nobody around. I think that was the only time in my life that I didn't speak with anyone for a week or two (record broken when friend would stop by to check on me). Not a word, even to myself. I remember eating microwave dinners, oranges while watching Star Trek the next generation. Of course I kept in touch with family through the internet and I can tell you that blasting You Could Be Mine by ****in' Guns n' Roses at 4am in the morning really makes you feel alive. I was tempted to explore the place naked but I restrained myself though.

Lol veggies. One day I hope to go to one of those all-you-can-eat meat houses in Brazil or wherever it was that I saw on travel tv. You get green and red flag thingies and basically if your green flag's up, waiters bringing huge hunks of meat stop at your table and carve out stuff for you, if that's what you want. The tables are within view of the cooking... roasts, kebabs, sausages, lamb, beef, game everything! I was so jealous On a tangent, I was talking to my friends from China over dinner about what their hometowns were famous for. The Beijing guy mentioned Peking duck (surprise!) and some kind of noodles. Another guy metnioned lamb (urge to go... rising) and the different ways they cooked it. Finally, the girl from Shanghai said that nothing in particular was famous though they had a bit of everything there. If I plan a holiday I'd plan it around the local food, sampling them from place to place. From the ingredients, the preperation till the final product. Yes, I love my food (and coffee) although I'm thin.
