  1. You can't find the last ingredient untill you have the following up quest from the girl, so it's not the fact that you picked up the ingredients before. I did the same, and got the following up nontheles. Must be something else. As fore what ... well just have to wait for obsidian to deign answer. Otherwise I guess you're screw for this quest. Don't worry, it'll not be the last one ...
  2. So, I don't know if it is a bug or "working as intended" (which would be a bad move), but every merchants have reset their inventory in Neketaka once I left the town and wandered a bit. The only items still present are some armor and traps on Zalmar. What that mean is that I don't have the possibility to buy back Arkemyr's notes from them, since it has been deleted. Without those notes, I can't say the passphrase to the Imps to pursue the quest The Archmage's vault. And why are these notes, related to a quest, categorized as "Other" items is beyond me. Edit : I didn't thought that I would have need of the notes on me since it wasn't a quest item but a Other item . Since I already read the note, I, of course, concluded it would have been added to my journal/dialogue choices anyway. Any way to fix that, get it back ? I did not aimed to sell the notes but I did when cleaning bags. I don't want to end a quest in a way that doesn't suit me. And I will not be using the console since it disable achievements (why btw ? It would have helped me get back the notes and get on with the quest. And it's a single player game, why care what people do with the console really ....). I don't really care for the achievements, but I like to see them nontheless when I done with my playthrough.
  3. No matter how many times you people delete my post I will post it again and again and again : The narrator is bad as hell, take too long too speak, break the immersion when she describe everything that you already see, and we need an option to get rid of her voice. I'm a strong and independant man and I don't need no girl to describe me what I see ! But hey "gnagnagna he doesn't like it cuz it's a girl and gnugngnugnu mysoginist pig". No, t'would have been a man if the voice is cringy as f**** then the result and the reaction are the same.
  4. I saw a somewhat similar tread already. I Tried it, didn't worked for me. https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97404-borderless-windowed-mode/ The game doesn't go into borderless. More so I can't alt tab or use the windows tkey to get out of the game. Sometimes it just decides to takes 1 screen and half of the second monitor too (sometimes the game is properly set on the first monitor but the second monitor is either half black screen hal desktop or worse). When I can use alt tab for exemple, and it works, the game is put on background but I still see the game, not the desktop. Can't click anywhere on the screen since it seems to consider the game open. I should mention that I had the issue where the game would open in 4k and would 70% of the time spread to take 15 to 80% of my second monitor. Had to changed my first monitor native resolution to 4k just to be able to see the main menu and not the top left corner only, so i could change the resolution of the game and then go back to my monitor resolution. Ideas ?
  5. Dunno, he seems pretty happy to me... In all seriousness I'd feel the same argument could be used with regards to the likes of Pinochet, Videla, Papa Doc and so on, who would also defend their cause as a form of prevention (in their case against communism and so on), and whom I feel no one would defend as altruistic. I can agree with the second point. That is completely crappy but that was the best laugh I had in weeks, thank you.
  6. I seems to have troubles getting this particular portrait to properly render, maybe someone could give me a hand ^^ Edit : Well I did manage to do something but ... see for yourself.
  7. Sorry, not my intention. People always say that I give the impression that I'm a tad' bit too ... aggressive. But really, that's just an impression I give.
  8. You don't need all the allies at all. It just help you to thin down the mob you will face when battling gathbin. If you have no allies you'll face 30 ennemies or so. Depending on the level of your party you'll either have a really bad time or not. If you can't manage it then maybe you need to level you characters before going in. Maybe your characters aren't well developed. The dozens aren't cut for fighting the mages, if they fail, then the mages will show up. And I'm sorry to tell you that, but there's nothing disapointing in the fact that the game doesn't allow you to have everything so you can have an easy battle. If you didn't bought the expansion then it's on you, not the game. Plus, there's no time limite as for when you want to launch the battle, so, level your characters, and come back later. Or buy the expansions and come back later.
  9. Thanks for the answer. Well I'll just go slaughter them then. Didn't mean to ally with them anyway, so I guess there's no problem here. Just wanted to know if it had any impact whatsoever but I guess not.
  10. So, I came back to the game recently after seeing that the two part of The white march were out, and I've just arrived at Defiance Bay (more or less). Here my question (and I'll probable go for the safe bet to be sure in the meantime while waiting for an answer) : Let's say you kill the robbers in the house, take the letter they carried to Lord Reymont, and then steal the jewel (just because, even though you already failed the quest if you wanted to cross him and hand the jewel to A. Doemenel anyway). Off course you have no business with the Doemenel anymore and I doubt they would want to, so you go see them and slaughter every living being in that house (why would you ask ? 'cause I can, that's why). Does this have an effect on the main story ? A side effect, like a bug, not intedent way of handling the situation ? I was thinking about the last quest when you need an invitation for the Duc conference. I know it has been fixed long ago and that you can alienate two faction at least so the Lady invite you herself though. So just asking if there are any repercusions in doing that sort of things.
  11. If certain abilities/talents/skills/classes trivialize the game, the nerfs are more than acceptable. It's funny how you claim that PoE is not a "freaking MMO" and then proceed to complain about "builds." Well yeah, it's an rpg, so if a spell is too powerful, it's up to you to decide if YOU want to use it, or not. Not somedy else. And yes, again, it's an rpg, you build the character you want, the way you want it. Builds or templates or whatever arn't born fromm MMOs dude. You're playing it alone, you don't care about what other think, it's you and you alone. Why nerf some ? Because it's too powerfull ? Don't use this spell/talent/ability then, you're not competiting against anyone here. Or maybe because you don't need to use other spells because there's this one who work better ? Up to you, once again. You want to use those ? then use them, but don't make it on others because you think it's acceptable or needed, once more, this is a solo game; builds are made through various means and aiming to various goals, each personal, and not because of the sake of "balance" or "having the best you can get", like Mmos do. It's their game and their IP. They decide how powerful they want skills, abilities and spells to be so it fits their vision of how they want their game to be. If you don't like it, look for future modding opportunities that will let you cast spells that one-shot the entire screen. Did you read anything about what I said ? Seems not since you didn't understand what I was saying, and I won't explain it again, so use your brain and learn to understand when someone say anything, before talking back ... Disapointing man. Thanks for the patch, hope I'll be able to play 2h straight without having to stop again this time.

  13. That's my favorite map on HoMM3 multi ... Anyway, I agree to some complains here, but on the other hand, people arguing that this is to be considered "normal", are not fully true either. See, Like Plazmid said, they are the particularities of Kickstarter, and since you've waited 2 + years, you want to play it. So yeah, as someone said before, I'm too old now to be offended by that sort of "inconveniences", and to wait spùe days or week for a patch isn't going to kill me, but this is annoying, and I'm not "happy" with it. Sure, we can wait, but since the game has been released,we want to play it, and not wait more. On the side card, we would had waited 2 more weeks without crying if the game hasn't been released. We were hopping to find minor bugs, not flagrant gamebreaking ones and complete. (Coming to mind, Raedric's hold, stats stack up, and those 2 items wich make the ciphers loose all their passive abilities and focus). How could they had not seen the loss of all focus regeneration while playing themselves a cipher with the Driniking horn of moderation equiped ? I mean, I equiped it, and saw immediatly that it was bugged, it was obvious. Someone said, "It's normal that a game has bugs when they are released", well yes, sort of. It was not so manifest before, but more and more now that the industry press on. Still, we hoped, and we will continue to hope that a game will be released without major bugs, and not released by thinking that "We will hot fix this after we've released the game". What if you come to me and ask me for some pilchard, beheaded and gutless, I sell them to you, removing their guts, thinking (I'll remove their heads when he'll be back at his home). Well I don't think you'll be too happy about it. Remember, you don't see what I'm doing, and you don't have to see what's inside your package till you're home. And I won't come for sure, so you'll come back to me and make some reclamations, that I'll promptly do. Anyway, in this case, someone talked about communications and took exemple of Bioware (That I'm not fond off anymore). There is a lack of communcations, for that it is clear, and this is quite messy. And in my case, I was Obsidian, and I did not taken the pain to inform you that I didn't removed those heads, while another would had. Anyhow, I know eveyone has their own point of view on every subject, their own experience, and that we'll never have the whole bunch of the conclave heading the same way. So we're here, trying to put our little seed in the pot because ...
  14. I'm eager to know how long we'll have to wait ? My saves are beyond broken by now, and I'm not starting them again. Got one on Path of the damned and 1 life ...27 h each. So, you're making "tests", ok, but if you don't have a date, maybe approximatively ? Like tomorow or next week ..
  15. I never use a helmet anyway. (e.g. : BG 1/2, NWN 1/2, Elder Scrolls 3/4/5, Divinity 2, Original Sin etc etc ) Never have I created a character that like to wear helmet, so do I. So, If there's a mod done to hide it, ok, if not, then I'll just be playing without helmet once more. The only thing I hate is when you have some games like skyrim, that make the helmet part of a "set", like giving bonuses trough feats (Light armor +10% armor or whatever if wearing full light armor Helmet, torso, legging, boots, glove). Always had to find a mod or creat one that somehow made a working helmet that have stats or not but is invisible ... quit a harsh job for something so small. It should just be like : If you don't wear anything else than Light armor then you get + 10% armor (even if you're just wearing a Light armor category of panties. This way you don't use any intermediary or heavy armors and you still get the bonus, you're not forced to wear a helmet ^^.
  16. Hi there, I'm a bit late on this one but, as I don't have the heart to lecture all posts : do someone know if modding could eventually be compatible to "create" or, "modify" classes ? (I'd like to create classes like I did in BG or NW2). The fact is that spell effect often requires a lot of work, and I don't know if I'll be able to handle Unity.
  17. We should build an army and conquer the world one night ... Just 310 members ... Space marine chapter ... plus we have a dragon !
  18. XP distributions like this might deter people from particular routes. I think each of the examples you listed should give the same amount of XP except for the one where you do nothing. To me, it does not make sense to reward more XP for doing the good path over one of the more evil paths in this example. XP rewards should be based on overall effort. But I digress. This idea (hidden experience) does not necessarily have to be about preventing save scumming but about not being worried about how much XP you are getting or when your next level up is coming; it will just happen when it happens. It might focus the player more on other aspects of the game (story, quests, roleplaying), which could make for an interesting playthrough. If you played BG (and you sure did), xp distribution was like this, but not for all quests assurely. Oh and, you don't earn more xp for being good (In fact, you do), but why the man would reward you (as xp is a reward for completing the quest), if you can't complete de quest like he wish you did. You can't earn the same in each case, as you didn't did the same actions. My point is not that hide xp could be viewed by some as a good option, or as a bad one. See I was talking about seeing how many xp I was in need of before lvling up, by this I don't mean that it bothered me, but that I just want to see how many I lack. So you can make an option to see it or not, I don't think I'll look at what I earned either way. I was just pointing out what the majority of players could do in such a case. (And most of those players don't actually read those forums by the way).
  19. If there's not too much of rennaissance or ancient ages armors I think I'll go with what they offer us ... but to be honest I really hate those styles. I prefer generally something like Elerond image posted from DnD styles of armor, or Nordic visuals, joined by a good old fashioned occidental weapons like claymores. Oneiromancer posted this that are approximately what I'm looking for I think. Except the boots.
  20. Ow, didn't know that either ... Maybe if it's not too late, I'll ask If I can be " Sil'thiriss of the Obsidian Order " like I did in my survey pledge so.
  21. Y'know some people are just made like that. My family look like we're all laking of sleep, but we are not ^^.
  22. I feel those xp numbers to be like that ; Either you save the daughter of someone, and kill the bandits. You're then rewarded by 200 xp and 50 silver coins (100xp from the quest giver, and 100 xp for all of the bandits). Or, you kill the bandits, rape the daughter, then you're rewarded with 100 xp (Only the bandits so) for killing the bandits and nothing more. Well you've raped the girl, seem logic to me. Or you kill everyone, including the girl and her father the questgiver. You get 110 xp and 20 silver coins from the total kills and the girl/father money they got on them. Or you do absolutely nothing, and get absolutely nothing, and you'll never see the npc everafter. Even if later one you find the bandits hideout and save/kill/rape the girl. My point is, if we hide the xp numbers, then people will try, look at their xp before and after and do some Scumloading as some people call it, and will know what they've earned for each of the differents ways to complete this "quest". Or they will just do what they want to do and earn what they earned. The fact is that if you remove the xp numbers, then people will look out what is better for them, in a way or an other. You can't fight greed. Then okay peoples who are playing in a "No load game", or "You die you restart the game", will not do the first, and will just do what they wanted to and get what they're offered. But let's be honest, most people won't play those modes, and take the first option. You can't reasonnably hide the xp numbers from the "xp bar" in your character statistics panel. Well you can but it's for me a mistake, my opinion no more. I like to know if I'm missing 50 xp or 55 xp to get my next skill/level. Personnaly I like to do everything, depending on what sort of playthrough I'm on (if it's a roleplay one, test one, grind one, and the list goes on..). So if I WANT to see how many experience I got by doing this or this, I want to be able to see it. Actually, this is to the player to choose what they want to do. If they want to roleplay, they will do what fits with their character, if they're not, then they will do what reward them most. And this is said without full knowledge on how their "accomplishment system" really work, so this is not fully based on how PE will work on it's experience.
  23. When thinking about the usefullness of the differents skills provided by the games, I always wondered why traps ever existed to begin with. I know that people talk about them, but I don't know anyone who really used them, if it was not for THIS particular fight or THIS one. Generally, traps are just leveled by players because it is also often linked to the disarm traps ability. I know that this is not really relevant about this topic (or maybe it is), but if we are talking about the utility off skills in games, then, maybe some one can give me an answer. Some people use them because of a roleplaying playtrhough, other just use them for one fight in the entire game because he only have that charachter available and he must use them, other don't use them at all, and some don't even know about their existence at all. So, what's the point ? What's the hidden reason behind a skill, that can be sweet to the eyes, but with no real purpose ? I see that my neighbor Oneiromancer was talking about Dragon Age Origins, and the two handed warrior, spamming his skills to be onward with the others characters. I think he has a point. Having few abilities, be sure that those abilities are all usefull, everytime, or nearly, and not just totally useless given they are here for one or two encounter in the game and that most player just forgot about them when the time comes to use them. And he's right to about Mmo, plenty of skills, 5 skills on let's say 20, who really have a purpose, and that are used very often, to not say always, and the 15 others are juste here because .. because and there is no real reason hiden behind their whole existence. I remember playing wow as a rogue in Burning Crusade expension, while where in PvE at Black Temple, the major part of the damage done by the rogue was only due to the auto attacks + poisons, and that, even with 20 skills, only 4 of them + 2 x 1 min CD skills were usefull. The point is that, will we go for and bunch of useless skills/abilities, or will we have a good portion of "auto attacks", combined with skills that cost enough to not be spammed and used wisely. Or something else.
  24. I just want to be able to corrupt, scare some, get through others, avoid retarded guards, and so, without killing anyone. Not that I don't like to kill every possible mosquitos that get on my way but this is a sort of "immersion". What if my character, let's say a wood elf, " good, kind, loving all forms of life, etc ..." (that sort of weaklings stuff from the woods-people) don't want to harm anyone ? Well I think I'll want to avoid any combat that are possible to. I know that all conflicts can't be solved this way, this is why peoples are often different, there would be no war andonly love if it wern't the case. But still, I think it can improve how a player want to draw his/her own story thorugh his/her journey. I remember Dragon age origins, I freaking loved that game, but there was something about diplomacy that was somehow missing in it. First : There was quasi no talking, when you had to fight, you had to, and this was for like 98% of the game. Second : When there was diplomacy, it was really short of complexity. Two example : You need to get people to defend the town while searching a way to enter the Arl Eamon castle. Ok so here's the dwarf and his two bodyguards, locked up in his house. You want him to get out and the diplomacy choice, given your strength, is to intimidate him to open the door and fight like a dwarf ! This is basic, but I like that. I don't have to slaughter mianiacally his two bodyguards and reap one off his eyes to get him to fight. You just scare the **** out off him. Same way to get the blacksmith to open his door and craft armors and weapons for his townfolks. The trial while doing the dwarven part of the game, the election too, no need to say that whatever side you choose, you'll be fighting, sooner or later, and even after. But you see, this was an option off how diplomacy can work in a game. You can either be good with words, or you can be bad and only fight your way and just tell them what you want after that. And when I'm talking about "diplomacy" (that's such a big word for what it imply), maybe it can be linked too to a barging with a demon. What can I do while talking with this demon, just say "DIE DEMON" and take his loots, or "Gimme the power fiend and I let you live", or maybe something more that I'll see later in the game like and old book, or a cruse that I ask for him in exchange for something I had. Anything that will give me other possibilites, other ways to solve a case/problem/encounter. So, like I said, I don't care to kill every maggots who are getting on my way, but if I can find a way to sneak, sweet talk, or just find a way to pass without having to stab any ****ers on the way, that'll be cool. I like bashing eveything, but I need a real reason to do that, not just because they're there. I need something more than just a hack'n'slash like type of diplomacy choice. I hate it when there's only one viable way to get somewhere, and that this way inevitably leads to kill everything. Not my cup of tea of a topic, it's difficult to debate about that one. So correct me if I'm wrong.
  25. I loved Skyrim's reaction after you killed Alduin. "Yeah, that's cool, I guess..." This is one exemple, none give a ****, or they nearly do (and then they put you in jail for stolling that lollypop ! ) Oh and the last one, I don't remember if I already talk about it, but I think not, so here it is. In NWN 2 Mask of the Betrayer there is a apprentice priest of Kelemvor who's interested in becoming a lich, and ask you about a book. In this case, I want to find the book, keep it for myself, and use it, becoming myself a lich. Why would I want to give it to this little priest incapable of anything beside asking some adventurers to find it for him before leaving, and most surely getting killed like 2 days later by a more powerful being, pleased that the book has finally leaved Myrkul's beloved library ... And I'll tell another one about the Demi-lich at the final battle. She ask us to find 3 books of great power. We have only " 2 choices", get her the books, or destroy the books ... Do I need to explain it all again ? I want to keeeeeep those books for myself (and eventually my companions, if I decide that I can trust them (not the case actually, I trust no one)). You'll need to kill the demi-lich, okay, no problem. Either way you will have to kill it if you destroy the books, or she'll just leave if you give her the books. So we can choose an option, which can be "good or evil", depending of your point of view and your morality, but in fact there is a need to do something with that choice. Not just "You took the book and killed the demi-lich, you're now a hero, but nobody give a **** about the books anymore, nore you, and they just disappeared mysteriously from the surface of the world. You're A HERE understand that player ? A HERO now shut up and continue your HERO story" There is way more paths to take than just being a paragon of virtue or just a neutral random guy passing by (and by neutral I mean the "evilest options you can do through the entire game that are not so vilain after all beside you eat black mushrooms and stole a lollypop" sort of neutral). Think I'm done, maybe. PS : Yes, I love to stole lollypops it seem.
