  1. No theyre not. A good mentor-apprentice relationship is in The Name of the Rose.
  2. Me too because small aspects of simulationism do nothing but complement the roleplaying experience with realism and therefore immersion, without doing anything negative at all. Not sure if legit or sarcasm. If legit, cheers but sometimes it can be negative. If sarcasm, usually I find it does compliment, and when done well gives players like me yet another thing to love about the genre. Well you know these pseudomedieval fantasy world are heavily based on real life at the end of the day so it does work out that way. Stash style system is just more fake, carry weight feels more authentic. If its not broken, dont fix it. Carry weight works well in real life and replacing it in game is fixing it.

  4. I am not a fan of hoarding items and carry weight is realistic, for gods sake, so I support it.
  5. That's Brandon Adler. Josh is J.E. Sawyer. So they all just have the same avatar? Mkay.
  6. Didnt even see the pentium IV. That is a very very low requirement. His proccessor is probably at least 2-3x more powerful, technology has developed alot since 2002.
  7. High five, nice of you to join us. Yes you will be. It will work fine. Ghz is not a concrete measure fo capability. Neither is video memory. Pillars is a very low requirement game technically, those requirements are extremely approximate bureaucracy at best.
  8. Someone didn't watch enough Xena. So Xena and her sidekick actually romantically loved each other the whole time? Either way, Pillars pls we want to recreate Xena ingame.
  9. Yes that would be cool, that would obviously not be romance though.
  10. I am finding them a welcome suprise personally. Dialogue in all computer games is super fake anyway and only meaningful in roleplay context so these do more help than bad.
  11. I have noticed eurogamer do that before. I think overall games journalism is just corrupt. It has been becoming more and more corrupt for at least a decade and most of it is still becoming more corrupt.
  12. True. "Identical" is a better word to use, but it ends up never being used because very few things are identical to one another. So in some contexts like might mean "functionally identical", but not fully identical. In other contexts it might mean "visually identical" or even "seemingly identical". In these cases it would be better to say out "visually identical", for example rather than abstract and generalize it to the word like, whch can be done though. Human language is a fairly limited and clumsy tool in some ways. For functional communication, two things are equally valuable I think: 1. Listening to others carefully and interpreting their talk correctly. This helps overcome poor finesse in language use. 2. Having good finesse in language use. This helps overcome poor interpretation of language use. Both of these involve thinking before either expressing yourself or before responding to another expressing themselves. As said, using "visually identical" has much more finesse than simply "like", if thats what happens to be what you mean.
  13. Should is still broken and always will be. Need in that case is better. Obviously. Sometimes it does, depends on the context.
  14. Thanks for great reply. It is suprising I have never read anything like this on this forum so far yet. And of course thats why I made this thread in the first place I think the devs could really appreciate summarizing feedback like this very much as well because it gives them transparent and clear and honest and concrete feedback on the game.
  15. Wtf you CAN purchase it (in future). Hoping isnt gonna do you any good, waiting might.
  16. Im not sure if its meaningful to ask people other than perhaps beta testers, but I guess alot of people keep a keener eye on its development than I. What are you very satisfied with and what is most concerning to you at the moment? What went as you expected and what has suprised you alot so far regarding its development?
  17. WHat is it about steam that would make it uncomfortable? I honestly couldnt tell, I have always found steam comfortable myself from the very beginning more or less
  18. Obsidian announced that they are officially anti-portuguese now thats what happened. So you will never get portugese. On a serious note, perhaps let obsidian directly know that you are disappointed in their lack of a portuguese version of this game, perhaps shoot them an email. I feel these forums are for discussing, but there is nothing to discuss in this topic.
  19. Are you joking? Out of the question. I must be the leader for my group and I cant allow myself that weakness. Also, if there was romance between me and another of the group, it would break the group apart. Not good. Integrity of the group is going to translate to better chances of surviving, which is important as you mentioned, and far more important in a situation like that than a little love. No, I'm not joking at all I'm surprised you think its usual for people to seek succour through an emotional or physical connection with someone else in times of hardship...or when they know tomorrow may be there last day on this earth? If the romantic partner in question is an equal to you in your adventuring party...the 3rd, 4th and 5th person in the party are going to be put under psychological stress by the development of this romance and thereby the group becomes less integral. Yes, it is good for you and your romantic partner emotionally. But not for the rest of the group.
  20. No its not supposed to be anything. At the very least the devs decide what is it "supposed" to be not you. At the most, using the word supposed to makes your whole sentence invalid. It actually is "supposed" to be a certain way... there are features that the game must have in it, since it was promised in the Kickstarter. Details aside, the game is most definitely supposed to feel/play like an old IE game - the devs themselves have stated this numerous times. Your mishap is using the word supposed, friend. Its the same word as should. This word is fallacious and baseless. Example: 2+2 should be 5. Sounds bs? There is no basis to believing 2+2 should be 5. There never is any basis to saying this or that is supposed to or should be this or that. it is what it is, its not supposed to be anything. It doesnt matter where you use the word should (or supposed or whatever), you are essentially saying the same thing because thats the nature of the word. Obsidian is not supposed to make eternity at all. They can cancel the game and if they did, thats the reality and saying they shouldnt have done it is worthless and just a dysfunctional way of expressing your opinion, at best and simply a lie at worst.
