  1. Soulsuke, Just for grins I rebooted while having the same issue (Linux Mint 17.1 KDE). Works like a charm now. It must be leaving a stale lockfile somewhere or something in the cache is getting polluted. FYI, and good luck. John
  2. While it has worked well on OSX for quite a while now it has only become stable on Linux in the last few months IMO. I don't run WIndows on bare metal anywhere so that platform is really not an option. That being said, the Linux client is really stable and I like it a lot. Lots of great games out there!
  3. I wouldn't mind having the hardcopy and certainly the manual, it just isn't necessary at this point. Maybe I will contact them - no need to change the pledge, I was and am happy to back this project.
  4. Hello All, If any of the PoE folks are reading this - I ordered a boxed copy of the game with my pledge but, since then, I have become entirely comfortable with steam. If it helps any you can keep the hard copy and give it to me via steam. Up to you, I have no problem with a printed manual! John
  5. Found the Gamescon video on youtube and want to chime in and say that 1) I love the clean interface with as much info as you want and 2) I love the idea of the Cyclopedia that becomes more detailed over time. Also it was fun watching you 2 get spanked not once but twice..... Also, there was no use of an area map or a mini-map? There is one, right? Great work folks and I can't wait for the game to come out! John
  6. I actually need to retract that statement. Steam has evolved pretty well. No complaints about it here at all. Just an update )
  7. Hello All, I just wanted to take a moment and send kudos to Obsidian for developing a Linux port of this game. Although I am alittle late to this party, I thoroughly enjoyed Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 and I am only now playing the Icewind Dale series in a Win98 VM. Commendations as well on seeking out a distribution mechanism in addition to Steam for the Linux crowd. While I appreciate Valve's effort (and also rather like Steam on OSX and Windows) the Linux port is halfhearted at best as well as limited to 32-bit/i386. I will be pledging the 50 shekels (US) for the boxed copy this week but I would do that anyway as I'm a bit of a geezer and prefer the hardcopy ;-) Thanks again, and I look forward to playing PoE! John PS: i7 / NVIDIA / Debian stable ;-)
