  1. Money is entirely imaginary. Mobs with pitchforks aren't. Even the Ceasars knew enough to make sure all the citizens of voting age were bought off.
  2. They would get it if not for the rich paying next to no taxes.
  3. Yeah, death throes. I had one come back to life recently though. It had been taking very long to spin up and one day it just gave up the ghost. Then a week later it returned, I had more or less forgotten it was there, still churning along slow as ever, but allowing me to salvage what I wanted from it. Some temp files/ program casche created by photoshop and something else probably hastended its demise. Don't bother with a disk check, before you have recovered what you want. There are only so many reads left, it might not make it.
  4. Yes it is.
  5. The new Bourne thing. Few surprises there. Feels like bourne #2. Treking around Thailand or the Philipines with his (not yet) girlfriend being tracked by assassins. They did this already. The action editing is annoying on more than one occasion. You can't have it all shaky cam all the time, that's not immersion, it's a headace.
  6. I guess the question on everyone's lips is 'what the hell is onlive', except apparently the future of everything.
  7. I should hope not. Wikipedia is where you find out which books to get.
  8. Is that Mcurly something from the home alone franchise ? Man, the years have not been kind.
  9. A shame really. Like books it's something a single person or maybe two or three people can do on their own, leaving less room for the 'vision' if you will, to be diluted by others. Too many cooks spoil the food, the best result is often one guy (or gal) with an idea who is not willing to compromise.
  10. Fear and Fear 2 were good, the rest really horrible.
  11. Batman is a giant money making machine, there is a super hero movie every other week. I would hardly call it marginalized.
  12. Don't cut your own hair.
  13. Friend of mine just had a lump in his head scanned, turns out it's a benign tumor. Don't know if it's operable or not, but at least he dodged the first bullet.
  14. Mads Mikkelsen as Mance Rayder, but then it turned out to be an internet rumor. It would be awesome though. He doesn't even have to say anything to pull off Mance Rayder, he could just stand there... brooding.
  15. You call that a tracheostomy, where's the passion
  16. I would rather watch this movie. They made it into a TV series which got a single season then got the axe. Nothing special. The comic is more Wasteland/Fallouty though, taking place several decades after the collaps of the US government - without the sci fi and BOS - but Chinese army remnants still causing trouble. It's a Western really. The duo travels from town to town, getting into adventures.
  17. The recent Aussie version was sortof credible, having Chinese or North Koreans invade mainland US, that would require a Sci Fi / re imagined cold war setting. They didn't even bother adressing the extreme unlikelyhood of such an event, which is just lazy.
  18. I don't see what all the fuss is about. It has a few highlights here and there, but I wouldn't call it much better than average for the fantasy shelf. At least it's easily digestible. Maybe that's its strenght. Liked the TV series better than the book(s), which is an incredibly odd thing to hear yourself say.
  19. Probably because they are not in need of preservation efforts.
  20. Reading book 5.
  21. Why does her office look like an 8 year old girls bedroom.
  22. Play as a mage, that way you only have to resort to button mashing when you are out of mana. The game is following a long riseb tradition of wonky melee mechanics.
  23. While I agree with Gorgon in that Bioware's still doing quite well for the moment, we can't ignore the fire they've come under recently, and the fact that due to good old groupthink, their next game's probably going to have to address the backlash in some way (and from what they've dripped from the next Dragon Age project, it would seem that it's exactly what they're doing). Also, while I understand that people've left Bioware before, they did have 2 key Mass Effect team members leave during the ME3 development cycle (Lead Gameplay Designer Christina Norman and producer Jesse Houston) - both interestingly to Riot Games... Dragon age 3 is going to adress the backlash of the bad ending to Mass Effect 3. That makes no sense. Although I predict the absence of prominent primary colours in the closing cinematic. Seems to me the first step would be to admit that the ME3 ending was bad, they haven't even done that.
  24. It's Freeman running around the Mesa compound again ?. The gameplay footage looked like a section of the vanilla game, couldn't see anything different. Is it the grenades...
  25. I'm probably not the only one feeling the Star Wars metal fatigue. Not enough quality to ensure the future of the franchise. If you were 18 what exactly would be drawing you in ? The directoral genious of George Lucas, the Clone Wars animated series.... I think no.
