I don't understand why you should recieve any special consideration because you are a cop. If anything they should be held to a higher standard. Lots of temptation and opportunity to misuse the power you are given.

Sometimes a comma following an introductionary clause just makes sense ,even if its after a 'but'. That listing comma in the example is superflous.

There have been similar cases poping up in the UK of unreported and systematic abuse.I tend to think that rape reports are probably more true than not simply because of the difficult nature of being a reporter of rape in the legal system.
