This game definitely needs optimization and quality of life updates.

The Athenaeum - Reading updates and Literary Review from the Obsidian Elite (this means you)
Finished the Foundation series, not including the prequels. Great series, still not sure on the "ending". He left a hook at the end but he never wrote a sequel. Other than that a great science fiction series and I now fully understand why they call him a pioneer of that genre.

I read the story when I was fairly young, I don't know how I would feel about it now. Although I doubt I will come back to try it again. Funnily enough I never liked either of those and that was when I was actively watching TV. Nowadays I don't like TV altogether.

I disliked it and dropped it a third of a way through. Maybe I'll give it a shot another time. It's a horrible affair, as far as I hear she comes in to the story in the later books and he doesn't really redeem himself. Can't remember if he got her pregnant or not, but I know I was even gladder for having dropped it.

Do you roll for attributes in character creation like in D&D?

For me it was Wheel of Time. To her credit she did mange to get a strong emotion out of me and the writing is not bad, but the protagonist was unredimable for me by the end of it. The only protagonist that was worse was in the Chronicles of Thomas Covenant, that book I simply dropped. Dumai Wells battle is the most famous scene, but now that you mention gates, a scene that always gave me goose bumps is when he lost control of the power to Lews Therin and killed a Trolloc army by himself with Death Gates and Fire Blossoms. I wonder if we will ever see it translated to another media. I know that there was talk about Amazon doing a TV show, but I still think animation would be a much better media for it.

The only book/series I ever hated is Robin Hobb's. I read the first trilogy and I was so pissed off at my self for not dropping it after book 1. The main character is so unlikable for me, I was hoping that he would redeem him self by the end of it... Well his wife was his editor, so that could have been it. I don't know, while I do agree that the books could have been slimmer, I didn't mind slogging through mud to reach the pearls. I agree that Sanderson did a good job, Mat's POV notwithstanding, but the last battle would have been so much more epic had Jordan had the chance to write it. I still haven't come across a book/series that has battles/action scenes as...well...EPIC. You should give Sanderson's Stormlight Archive a read, it's pretty good.

^The irony. Whoopsy daisy.... But, but, but they will sell those finished games and surly use those profits to pay the poor workers.

Ditto with Mistborn, but his epic is great. WoT I read a couple of times whole, I wouldn't say he really lost control as much as he added a buttload of side characters and their POVs. You can always skim those.

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - CON SEASON
This thread was consistently one of the top threads in this forum, before sonic was even a part of this forum, it needs no help. Either way I have said my piece and will not bother any longer. As Fenixp's has already showed there are ways to deal with this, but I would rather not.

Do the female generals have boobplate? Maybe it's because of that.

I really haven't come across other writers that I read that behaved like that. I don't really mind authors who are "jerks", but the self entitled ones do get on my nerves I mean you have Brandon Sanderson who writes high/good quality material consistently. There are also other but not to that degree. Then you have Martin, but I don't really care about him as I dumped his series after book 1 (book 2 was a slog for me and I quit 1/4 of a way through).

RANDOM VIDEO GAME NEWS - CON SEASON
Dude it's annoying. Your are just spamming videos that you mostly have no interest in. I know that you are not breaking rules, but do you see any other poster spamming 4-5 posts in a row with videos. If I want to see every video that comes out for games, I'll go to a dedicated gaming "news" site. I mean post things you care about and see if anyone responds, don't just carpet bomb a thread with videos fishing for a reply or to boost your post count...

Almost finished the Foundation series, not including the prequels, and I have to say it's pretty much the greatest sci-fi series/book I have read (I don't read much sci-fi). You have to look at Dune at the period of time it was written, it was a pioneer. That said I couldn't get past book 3 or 4 (I don't remember which one was about the worm emperor). edit: and screw Rothfuss, I'm debating whether or not to even read the 3rd book when/if it comes out. Had he remained quiet and not responded regarding it, I would have been peeved, but I would have waited. He had to open his big mouth, I understand that he may be frustrated by everyone asking about the next book, but he came across as such an entitled prick and an ****...

That was a conscious decision on Obs part, they wanted for there to be no bad builds, as you probably remember, and so they settled for it being bland.

Someone is going to buy the licenses, they always do, so maybe season 2 happens under another studio.

Oiling 1080 GTX fans
If there is an access port on the face of the fan, bellow the sticker, you can oil it. Otherwise no. As a side note that should not be happening on a new card like that.

I finally started reading the Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov. It reads pretty much like his short stories, which is a good thing as they are awesome. Need to figure out if the later books are worth reading once I get to them.

If you can't wait I would say go for it, although I abhor loud coolers. Btw how do you like the curve on the monitor. I never had a curved one because it always seemed gimmicky to me and you lose straight lines.

Pretty much, at least what I can gather from modern medias take on it. It's a change of narrative, for example how western history and documentaries focus on the western front and trivialize the eastern one, or at least fail to mention it. You get the impression that the west broke the Nazis back and not that they were scrambling to stop the Soviets from taking most of Europe. Same with WW1, nowadays it would seem like everything could have been talked out if only there was no assassination. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that the history books are being rewritten, but the modern media is spinning the truth on it's head. This is my impression at least. As I said above I think it's more the modern media, no work in particular. There is a movement to shift the public opinion, at least that is the impression that I have been getting from watching/reading things. Wrong theory. I should have expanded on it. I was talking about the narrative that the assassins were incompetent idiots who got lucky, ie. Gavrilo Princip eating a sandwich and seeing Franz by sheer luck. Also Fraz's last words to his wife and a bunch of other things. The whole story trivializes one side and glorifies the other.

What do you guys think of the revision of history regarding the start of WW1 that has been happening during the resent years? Do you believe that Serbia was the aggressor and that Franz Ferdinand was a benevolent monarch who would have brought peace and prosperity to the region? Sandwich theory?

Considering the officials took her side and sang her praises, I doubt anything will happen. I only feel bad for Osaka in the whole situation.
