  1. You coffeeists just need to learn to accept coffee the way it is.
  2. If I remember correctly Interplay threatened to delete the entire Fallout section of their boards because it got way out of control after the announcement. For a while it made YOP look like hippie paradise.
  3. I donate to the Red Cross and the local voluntary fire fighters as I really might need an ambulance or a fire put out some day and they're doing a fine job for the community. I also often buy a local newspaper sold (mostly) by the homeless who would otherwise not be able to get a job. Half of the money they earn they can keep, the other half goes into the next issue - it earns them some money and makes them feel useful (not to mention that people who are willing to do that sort of crap job out in all weather just so they can work *something* deserve it).
  4. Hey old man, were you still part of the guard when we got to pick a free game as thank you for our service, way, way back?
  5. I'd say part of the issue was that the Democrats supplied the Republican candidate this time around. Look at what Trump promised and might try to do: More protection for blue-collar workers, curbing globalism by protectionism, ending free trade where possible, promising to reign in big corporations (sort of, he also promised them tax discounts in exchange for taking away their off-shoring capabilities). You know, the kind of thing one would expect from the Democrats - things that are about as left as they can get in the US. While I do doubt that Trump will actually accomplish much of what he promised because political realities are going to crush him it is telling that the he clearly seemed more believable in championing the plight of the "little" guy than the candidate of the party actually supposed to do that - and why Sanders would have been the better for the Democrats.
  6. The interesting thing with Fascism, is it is basically socialism without the obsession with equality. You're kidding, right? I dunno, Hitler's NSDAP party directly translated was the National Socialist German Labour Party. It pretty much says it on the tin. North Korea calls itself the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Pretty much what it says on... oh, wait.
  7. Welcome to the Fallout community, providing fan dumb since '97.
  8. ...and how much our corporate overlords really let him do. I'm not quite up to date but couldn't dropping out of TPP and NAFTA results in partners and/or corporations filing charges through the investment court system (ICS)? Not to mention aggravating the Chinese who sort of own half of the US already. I also think the tax discount for bringing back tax dodger offshore money isn't going to work like he thinks it might. It didn't in other nations (e.g. Germany).
  9. Let's not pollute the US election thread with EU politics, but for that to be fair we'd first have to dismantle all EU members' ruling bodies. I'd rather see the current system fixed by, well, simply removing the requirement for votes to be unanimous and somehow making sure retards like Oettinger aren't allowed on the Commission. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-RrEQ8Ovw-Q Yeah. Thanks for contributing that guy, Germany.
  10. This is why I find the US system a bit odd, but hey, it's their playfield and they live with their choices and how they occur. Never really was interested in the mechanics, but it seems odd to me, that you can have such huge disparities between direct and indirect election method and for me it'd be logical that the indirect should move towards the direct one in terms of representation of results I think that's the entire point of the electoral college system. To prevent population-rich states from dictating federal policy by virtue of having more voters. For better or worse it's working as intended.
  11. Either you know something we don't, or you're confusing the Trump women. Yeah, 'twas a mixup. Shows one shouldn't try to write jokes after an all-nighter.
  12. I concur. enjoy some czech export That's just awesome for as long as it takes to realize that Trump's actually tapping that (sorry for the Trumpspeak, really). Now, where's my brain bleach gotten to? Yikes.
  13. Does anyone know if Lena Dunham has finished packing already?
  14. Huh... especially when that video is wildly jumping to conclusions and mixing things up, e.g. the mass layoffs of the past when Obsidian almost went under don't at all mean people are leaving left and right at the moment the way it comes across.
  15. For a while now I've tried to formulate a reply, but nothing comes to mind that would seem appropriate. Well, except: Up yours, DNC. Serves you right.
  16. Odd. If there would be game developer with nigh unlimited resources it's Blizzard. So let's fix the quote:
  17. Might be, but the Euro is being kept as low as possible by our dear Führer Kanzlerin Merkel to help along German exports.
  18. So how did you like the operations? I found that while mechanics and leghth-wise they are behind other MMOs (especially WoW's) Bioware really managed to pull off some great looking settings, fun bosses and tight atmosphere - especially Terror from Beyond and Dread Palace. Same goes for some of the flashpoints.
  19. Word. The kids these days who think that classic WoW was so hardcore and laugh at how casual it has become. They don't realize that the initial and continued success of WoW was simply because it was the most casual MMO on the market. Farming materials for the old 40 man raids? Sure, make my day. Took some doing, was boring, but outside of having to make your flasks in Scholomance you could at least do it on your own. Try having to group to farm experience and crafting materials. And then having to play NPC on the market to actually sell to other players. Oh, and dropping your equipment when you die four hours into a musty cave and having to run back to get it through all the respawns. Although to be honest nothing really beats pre-split Ultima Online. Hordes of gankers killing you at every turn and actually taking all your stuff because you dropped everything when you died, and having to visit your in-game house at least once a week so it doesn't waste away. Heh, had to make key copies if you went on vacation and hope that the guy you gave them to reliably goes to your house, doesn't lose the key, or has it stolen - or just loots all your stuff himself. Good old times.
  20. Hi guys, I'm one of the Duke level backers in Europe and my shipment status is still "shipping soon" - any idea when that might be? I've been away for a while and read about the delays in the Kickstarter updates but as far as I can see many have gotten their games already (granted those probably are for the normal edition). Any info would be appreciated.
  21. Are you guys talking about this pie chart? That just means that Fig's campaign goal equals roughly 40% of Wasteland 3's budget, not that 40% of the funding is going back to Fig in some money laundering scheme. Not that there isn't ample reason to not pledge on a platform co-run by Tim Schafer - this just isn't one of them.
  22. Yeah. The trailers always were better than the actual game. Even the really campy live action one. During long and lonely nights I retreat to my safety cupboard and weep bitter tears for the wasted potential of SW:TOR - and I loved the game and played it for years before quitting due to guild drama and burn out introduced the lack of interesting content during Shadows of Revan. *sigh*
  23. A child, really? This is certainly disappointing. Aren't you guys supposed to be falling apart and fighting each other with people quitting over imagined slights and pillow fights with Josh or some such? *sigh* In all seriousness, congratulations and enjoy the many sleepless weeks ahead family life.
  24. One can actually die during character creation if you screw up enough. Somehow I doubt they're going to remake the entire game just to appease the console peasants over the master race.
  25. MOAR Dark Matter Also watched Stranger Things. Good. Really good. Bordering on awesome.
